DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss the annual Chapel Concert sung by the professional voices of the Choir of Lincoln’s Inn conducted by the Director of Chapel Music\, Nicholas Shaw with William Whitehead\, Associate Organist. The concert will last 1 hour and will be performed in the Inn’s magnificent 400 year old Chapel. A drinks reception in the Inn’s Old Hall (famous for featuring in Charles Dickens’ ‘Bleak House’) will follow the concert and is included in the ticket price. \nThe theme for the concert is Night Song\, and it features a programme of sacred and secular music reflecting the ending of the day with composers from the sixteenth century to the present day. Connections to the Inn are celebrated in St John Henry Newman’s Littlemore Tractus and John Donne’s Bring us O Lord God and the 400th anniversary of the dead of Orlando Gibbons is marked with his fine setting of the Nunc Dimittis from the Second Service. \nAll are welcome.
