SUMMARY:Alliance for Childhood UK Forum
DESCRIPTION:Bring your expertise and experience to our Forum to explore resilience\, play and policy for children with guest speakers and conversation.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are holding a UK wide Forum on Thursday 9th October 2025 to consider how children develop resilience. In a time when it is becoming more difficult for children to experience a healthy childhood\, we’ll ask what creates the environment a child needs to grow and develop resilience and also look at ways we could help to bring it about. We invite you to join us and bring your expertise and experience to share. The venue is the Slade Adventure Playground\, a beautiful setting in South London. \nSpeakers include Sue Palmer\, author of Toxic Childhood and founder of Upstart Scotland\, Michaela Carmichael\, Trustee of Slade Gardens Community Play Association and Senior Advisor for Common Sense Media UK and Christopher Clouder\, Co-Founder of the Alliance for Childhood. \nIn the morning speakers will introduce a few of the themes in a panel discussion. We’ll follow up after lunch with conversations in small groups and round off the day with a plenum session. \nProgramme \nam \n10.30 am arrive\, tea and coffee \n10.45 Welcome and introductions \n11.00 Panel Discussion \npm \n12.15 Lunch \n1.15 Small groups \n2.00 Plenum and summing up \n2.30 Close \nYou will be able to find more information and updates on our website here. \nThe event is free but we suggest you make a donation towards the costs of the event with lunch and refreshments. You can contribute more or less than that amount as you wish.

SUMMARY:Curating at Home: Making Personal Spaces of Creative Agency with Dr Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a four-session online course exploring how we live with art\, and how the art we live with shapes the way we live. \nCurating at Home: Making Personal Spaces of Creative Agency invites you to look closely at the rooms\, objects\, and artworks that surround you. Drawing on art practices\, histories\, philosophy\, exhibition-making\, and practices of everyday attention\, we will explore how meaning is shaped through arrangement\, context\, and the lived rhythms of domestic space. \nAcross four fortnightly sessions\, we will consider how art lives with us\, and how our gestures and choices quietly curate the places we inhabit. Each session includes case studies\, creative exercises\, and guided activities designed to help you think with and through your own environment. \nLed by artist\, educator\, and curator Dr Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson and hosted by IMT Gallery\, the course offers a reflective and practical space for artists\, collectors\, curators\, students\, and anyone interested in how art shapes everyday life. \nPlaces are limited — the course begins on 12 April. \nEarly Bird rates are available until January 9 at 11:59 p.m. GMT. \nReady to rethink the spaces you live in? Follow the link below for full details and to enrol.
