DESCRIPTION:Tooting & Mitcham Football Club are very excited to host a fundraising comedy night in partnership with Comedy Utopia on Friday 20th September. The evening will be hosted by Matt Burden and will be joined by comedians Simon Bligh\, Julian D’Angelo and Jenny Lockyer. The evening will also include a raffle as well as a fundraiser for St Georges Hospital Charity. \nDoors open from 19:00 with the acts starting at 19:30 ( top tip\, try not to be late to a comedy night!). Food and drink will also be available for purchase on the night. DESCRIPTION:Eastside and University College School presents an evening of comedy and music in memory of David Lund to raise money for a fantastic cause. \nDrinks Reception: 6.30 PM with complimentary fizz \nShow Starts: 7.30 PM \nHUGH DENNIS (former UCS Headboy) \nSIMON BRODKIN (former UCS student ) \nTHE SHOWSTOPPERS (led by Adam Meggido\, the former UCS student) \nWe cannot wait to welcome you to the first of many April Fooleries – Buy your ticket to donate to a great cause whilst enjoying the memory of David Lund in the heart of his school. If you cannot attend\, why not donate anyway. \nDavid Lund was an outstanding English teacher at University College School between 1967 and 1996. He was passionate about teaching\, literature\, jazz music\, and creativity in all its forms. David left a significant mark on every student he taught and the wider community. \nThrough his commitment to nurturing every student\, David successfully guided thousands of young people through their English language and literature studies. \nDespite a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1985\, David became head of the English department and established an ethos of joyful learning before retiring in 1996. Unfortunately\, David passed away in 2010. The Lund Family generously bequeathed the residue of their estate to charities whose mission was to support young people’s creative development. \nEastside benefited from a donation of £10\,000\, with which this fund has been established. Our goal is to convert this initial gift into £1million to repay our debt of gratitude to the Lund family and build a long-lasting legacy that helps transform the educational experiences of many young people for years to come. \nDid you know David Lund?
