DESCRIPTION:“The Notting Hill Carnival ain’t over until Ministry of Sound Says So.” – TIMEOUT LONDON \n\n\n\nAnd it is for that reason every year\, on the bank holiday Monday\, the capital descends on this world famous venue for a tradition as big as the West London festival itself. So join us\, as BPM London brings you the Official Carnival After-Party at Ministry of Sound Club; it’s the biggest party in town. \n\n\n\nAnd all are welcome to rave through till the morning \n\n\n\nAs legendary as the carnival itself\, the annual party at Ministry of Sound has sold out year after year\, closing the summer in a true rave fashion. (Not joking\, until the festival was halted due to you know what\, yearly it sold out in advance) and now\, that for the first time since 2019 Notting Hill Carnival is back\, the After-Party will be bigger than ever! \n\n\n\nFrom 10pm till like 6am across all 4 arenas of the Ministry of Sound\, 15 DJ’s will be tearing the place apart alongside colossal production throughout the entire venue. From co2 cannons\, lasers\, strobes\, LED Screens and an outside bar this is the only place you should be this bank holiday Monday. \n\n\n\nAccept no imitations when it comes to the carnival after party experience; Ministry of Sound August 29th\, it’s tradition. \n\n\n\nHouse\, Garage\, HipHop\, Drum & Bass\, Grime\, Techno\, Drill\, Afrobeats & Carnival Vibes; there is no other place to be.

SUMMARY:Campfire Club: Gasper Nali
DESCRIPTION:The Nest Collective invites you to enjoy a beautiful fireside concert with Gasper Nali. \n\n\n\n\n\nRediscover one of life’s simplest joys – the sharing of live music in the glow of a campfire. \nEvery summer\, we gather in beautiful green spaces within cities to hear extraordinary music by artists from all over the world. \nIn the simple way that people have done for thousands of years\, we come together around the fire to enjoy music\, food\, drink and the company of others. \nFor this Campfire Club\, we are delighted to present Gasper Nali. \nGasper Nali plays a Babatoni – a 3-meter\, one-stringed\, homemade bass guitar – with an empty bottle and a stick. And makes the most beautiful and catchy original afro-beats possible. \nGasper is a one-man band\, with the Babatoni bass guitar\, cow skin kick drum and very catchy tunes. He is absolutely unlike anything else. It’s super Malawian roots\, it’s very upbeat and incredibly danceable! – or – as a Bandcamp fan nicely put it: “Gasper is a one-man party! It’s completely impossible to stop moving – and just as impossible to stop smiling!” \n“His music is simple but joyous\, and totally infectious” * * * * – Songlines

SUMMARY:Ghana Party in the Park
DESCRIPTION:The world is now coming to Africa!” proclaimed the Guardian in a recent article on the global popularity of Africa’s most exciting cultural export: Afrobeats. Beyond the music\, demand for African food is also skyrocketing worldwide. For those looking for an authentic African experience\, London’s Ghana Party in the Park Festival is just the ticket! Dance to afrobeats\, feast on traditional cuisines and admire spectacular Ghanaian costumes\, all for as little as £20! \n\n\n\nHeld in Enfield’s Trent Park\, the annual outdoor festival will be attended by a crowd of 10\,000\, making it the world’s biggest Ghanian event outside of Ghana\, attracting overseas visitors from Europe\, the USA\, Canada and of course\, Ghana itself. \n\n\n\nAfrobeats has become one of the most beloved music genres across the globe\, with artists such as US superstar Drake and British grime artist Dave featuring on chart-topping afrobeat anthems. Whilst organisers remain tight-lipped about this year’s music line-up until the official announcement in June\, the event guarantees big names and fresh sounds\, with Mr Eazi\, Tion Wayne\, and Chip having graced the Ghana Party in the Park stage in recent years. \n\n\n\nAnd\, of course\, no Ghanaian festival would be complete without food. Lots of it! From Jollof and suya to bofro and sobolo\, Ghana Party in the Park promises the very best in West African cuisine\, on top of which\, the UK’s leading World Food brand Tropical Sun will be sampling their delicious snacks and drinks at their stand. Our recommendation: Tropical Sun’s world-famous Coconut Peanuts\, which are quickly becoming one of the most popular snacks in West Africa! \n\n\n\nTickets are priced from £20 and are available from the usual outlets\, including Shoobs and Eventbrite. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, including line-up announcements\, visit the Ghana Party in the Park website – www.gpitp.com

SUMMARY:The Legend of William Onyeabor
DESCRIPTION:Bridging funk\, disco and afrobeat\, Nigerian synthesizer whiz William Onyeabor’s style was wholly unique and revolutionary for the time and place in which he grew up. Bukky Leo’s Black Egypt collective have put together a full show that unequivocally celebrates the life and times of one of music’s true icons. \nMysterious and reclusive to the end\, by the time people in the West had started taking notice of his music in the 80s he’d converted to Christianity and distanced himself from the treasure trove of space-funk beats he’d made. Since then\, if you mentioned his life in music around him\, he would stop the conversation dead. \nNaturally\, rumours would fill the void: Onyeabor had gone on to run a flour mill; he went to film school in Soviet Russia; he went to study law in London. His legend grew and grew. \nAfter years of work\, Luaka Bop finally got permission to publish his work as Who Is William Onyeabor?\, with Onyeabor telling the labels Yale Evelev: ‘Yale\, you can sell my music\, but don’t sell me’. \nSince then they’ve re-issued his entire discography\, giving his synth-funk new life and carrying his legend on for generations to come.
