SUMMARY:How to Be Feral: Movement Practices to Re-Wild Your Body with Claire Loussouarn
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a four-session online course exploring the feral intelligence of the body: how it listens\, questions\, adapts\, resists habit\, and remembers what modern life teaches us to forget. \n‘How to Be Feral: Movement Practices to Re-Wild Your Body’ invites you to explore unfamiliar ways of moving that unsettle what we think we know about our bodies. Drawing from Claire Loussouarn’s book How to Be Feral\, we’ll practise trusting instinct before understanding\, and learning from the more-than-human world.  \nAcross four fortnightly sessions\, we’ll use movement as a mode of thinking and knowing\, alongside simple forms of movement mapping\, to explore how movement can open different perspectives\, train attention\, and reconnect us to parts of ourselves that have been quietened by social and cultural conditioning. Together we’ll approach our everyday environments as something to be received\, listened to and moved with. \nLed by movement artist Dr Claire Loussouarn and hosted by IMT Gallery\, the course offers a reflective and practical space for artists\, performers\, writers\, researchers\, educators\, somatic practitioners\, ecologists\, and anyone curious about how the body can think\, sense and know. \n🌿 No movement experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to explore. \nThe course begins 4 October 2026. \nFollow the link below for full details\, and to book.

DESCRIPTION:Andy Hamilton\, much-loved and acclaimed comedian\, writer\, director\, novelist\, panellist\, and of course cartoon voice artist\, brings his brand-new show A Night To Remember to London! \n  \nExploring the wonders and the weaknesses of human memory\, Andy looks at how laughter oils the wheels of the brain. (Please note that Andy is not a qualified neurologist. And the brain probably does not have wheels.) In an evening of classic comedy\, Andy will do his best to recall the nights to remember from his own life\, as a writer\, performer\, producer\, director\, failed quiz show contestant\, choir boy\, under-rated footballer and cartoon elephant dentist. He’ll examine moments that have shaped his life and collective experiences that have impacted us all in an entertaining\, thoughtful\, but above all\, very funny evening with a veteran master of comedy.

SUMMARY:Yoav Avni and Jack Davies on Fiction\, Time\, Secrets\, and Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special event with authors Yoav Avni and Jack Davies to celebrate the publication of their new novels\, Time Clocks and Jove \nTogether\, they will look at how fiction uses realism\, mystery\, suspense\, time travel\, espionage\, memory\, and humor to move between the strange and the intimate. Their conversation will ask what happens when stories cross borders of time\, place\, culture\, and form – and when the past keeps pressing against the present. At heart\, both novels are about people trying to make sense of a bewildering world. \nCome for the stories. Stay for the conversation. Leave with the sense that even the strangest plots are\, in the end\, about us. \nAbout Yoav Avni\nIsraeli author\, editor\, and translator\, winner of the Geffen Award and author of nine acclaimed novels published in Israel. His latest novel\, Time Clocks\, forthcoming in English from Roundfire Books in September 2026\, blends time travel\, mystery\, AI\, humour\, and magical realism in a story about three strangers from different eras who appear beside a man whose own life has just fallen apart.\nAbout Jack Davies\nLondon-based writer of short fiction\, poetry\, novels\, and screenplays\, and an award-winning film director. His novel Jove\, published by Roundfire Books in June 2026\, is a tense spy thriller in which a retired secret service agent becomes a detective after his daughter’s death\, uncovering secrets that stretch from personal grief to Britain’s colonial past and the hidden machinery of espionage.

SUMMARY:Susan Calman: Tall Tales
DESCRIPTION:For the first time in ten years\, beloved comedian\, writer and broadcaster Susan Calman returns to the stage with a joyful\, whip-smart and wonderfully unhinged evening of stories\, silliness and surprise\, already adding extra dates due to phenomenal demand! \nA decade older\, but not necessarily wiser\, Susan has amassed a remarkable number of improbable adventures since her last tour. Tall Tales dives headfirst into the most unbelievable highlights: from cruising the world to driving tanks\, her enduring love of cats and the trials and triumphs of getting older. \nSusan said: “It’s been ten whole years since I last headed out on tour\, and I couldn’t be more excited to get back on the road. I’ve collected so many ridiculous and unbelievable stories over the last decade that it feels only right to share them in person – preferably while dancing badly. I can’t wait to see everyone across the UK again and have a joyful\, hilarious time together.” \nPrepare yourself for an evening of barely believable stories\, laughter and probably some dancing. And yes\, she warns audiences in advance: you still won’t believe how short she really is.

DESCRIPTION:ONLY HUMAN is more than an album — it’s an immersive companion exploring what it means to live with an open heart in a complex world. \nABOUT → TALLULAH RENDALL \nTallulah Rendall’s seventh album\, HUMAN\, is a raw and cinematic exploration of what it means to live with an open heart in a world that often rewards disconnection. SUMMARY:WITH EACH LOOK | Lower Slopes
DESCRIPTION:Lower Slopes launches with pop-up exhibition in Islington while renovations continue at its permanent home in Highgate. \n\nLower Slopes’ opening exhibition serves as an introduction and an invitation. Bringing together many of the artists we’ll be presenting in our upcoming programme\, it is a statement of intent and a proposition to the viewer: look again for a deeper encounter. \nWhile impactful at first glance\, the works on display do not reveal themselves fully. They reward further attention: a closer look\, a shift in perspective\, a peek inside. \nAs we move through the exhibition\, our gaze is unsettled. At times we assume the role of voyeur\, while the subjects are distracted or have their backs turned; at others\, we feel stared down\, as if the works are watching us. \n\n\nEXHIBITION INFORMATION\nVenue: 6 Charlton Place\, Islington\, London N1 8AJ\n\nExhibition: 23 October – 1 November 2026\n\nOpening Hours: Wednesday-Sunday: 11am-5pm\n(Closed Monday and Tuesday)

SUMMARY:Ballerinas
DESCRIPTION:“They have two faces. The smiling\, perfect one the audience sees. And then the dark one that emerges behind the curtain\, when the rehearsed smile falls and the face contorts into a grimace because they are choking…” \nPart memoir\, part reckoning\, Ballerinas is a raw\, darkly comic exploration of the elite ballet conservatory system and the feverish atmosphere of the 1990s. Adapted from her acclaimed autobiographical novel\, performer and director Miřenka Čechová traces the often brutal journey of young girls pursuing ballet dreams\, exposing a world shaped by discipline\, ambition and sacrifice. \nBlending movement\, theatre and personal testimony\, Čechová creates a deeply intimate work that lays bare both the physical demands and psychological cost of artistic training. Revisiting past traumas with unsparing honesty and self-deprecating humour\, Ballerinas becomes not only an examination of a toxic system\, but also a powerful search for identity\, resilience and catharsis. \nThe show will be performed in English.  \nMiřenka Čechová is a Czech author\, choreographer\, director and performer whose multidisciplinary practice spans theatre\, dance and documentary storytelling. A former classical ballet dancer and co-founder of the theatre companies Spitfire Company and Tantehorse\, she has built an international reputation for creating deeply personal\, socially engaged works that transform autobiography and real-life testimony into powerful physical theatre. Her acclaimed books and performances include Miss America and Ballerinas\, the latter receiving nominations for both the European Union Prize for Literature and the Theatre Newspaper Award. \nConcept\, Direction and Performance: Miřenka Čechová\nDramaturgy: Martina Kinská\nDirectorial Collaboration: Janka Ryšánek Schmidtová\nTheatrical Collaboration: Tereza Dočkalová\nSet Design: Petr Boháč\, Eva Matoušová\nMusic: Martin Tvrdý\nLive Music: Mary C\nLighting Design: Filip Horn\nAnimation: Linda Arbanová\nVideo: Tereza Vejvodová\nCostumes and Objects: Eva Matoušová\nProduced by: Spitfire Company \nWith the support of the City of Prague. \nThis event is part of the 30th Made in Prague Festival organised by Czech Centre London.
