But is it time for us to fight back more strategically against this narrative of decline? Should we be coming together to get battle-ready for the challenges coming over the hill in the second quarter of the 21st century? Can we\, collectively\, combine our expertise and figure out how to evolve the capital’s Fringe Theatre community to be future-ready? \nThat’s what we intend to find out at Fringe REvolution – A series of one-day conferences on the present and future of London Fringe Theatre. \nOur first event: \nThe London Fringe has never been busier. Heinrich Biber’s remarkable sonatas on each of the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary were dedicated to his employer\, the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg. Probably written in the 1670s they were virtually unknown until their publication in 1905. Performed by four musicians well-known for their sensitive readings of baroque music\, this is a rare opportunity to hear several from the set\, paired with popular sonatas of the period by Handel and J.S. Bach. \nThis concert is generously supported by Susan and Walter Rudeloff. \nClassical Musicians

DESCRIPTION:Olivier Messian’s visceral Quatuor pour la fin du temps (Quartet for the End of Time) was written in a German prisoner-of-war camp in 1941. The first performance was given on found\, borrowed and broken instruments for an audience of prisoners\, but the piece has since become one of the most celebrated works of the 20th century. \nPerformed by Ensemble Mi (Anthony Friend\, clarinet; Agata Daraškaitė\, violin; Peteris Sokolovskis\, cello; James Cheung\, piano)\, Quatuor pour la fin du temps will be followed by an improvised reflection by Jon Hopkins\, Leo Abrahams\, and Maddie Ashman.
