On 15th November\, London Ragas Fusion brings together four celebrated maestros\, each carrying a world of tradition and innovation in their art. \nAt the heart of the performance is Pandit Ajay Prasanna\, three-time Grammy-nominated flautist and one of India’s leading bansuri exponents. His music carries both lyrical serenity and creative brilliance\, a sound that has travelled across continents and genres. Alongside him is Shahbaz Hussain. A renowned and accomplished tabla virtuoso\, Shahbaz is considered one of Europe’s finest players\, known for his dynamic and intricate performances in Indian classical music and fusion projects. \nThey are joined by pianist Rekesh Chauhan\, an award-winning pianist renowned for seamlessly blending Indian Classical Music with Western instruments\, and RN Prakash\, a master of the South Indian Ghatam whose earthy\, clay-pot rhythms bring texture and vitality to the ensemble. Together\, these four artists create a confluence of sound where North and South India meet\, and East and West flow into harmony. \nBut this evening is more than music; it is also an invitation to pause\, reflect\, and experience the healing resonance of sound. No boundaries – No limits. \nJonathan Mayer\, son of the late Kolkata composer John Mayer\, is a renowned sitarist & composer\, who has composed extensively for many genres including jazz\, Indian\, dance & symphonic writing and has performed all over the world\, and two very successful tours in India. His ability to read Western notation has allowed him to perform in a variety of genres – playing with artists such as Orlando Consort\, The London Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra\, among other notable names. \nShri Gadhvi is a versatile tabla player and music producer\, with the ability to blend the Indian tabla with popular western music\, creating an incredible fusion of music that transcends boundaries and creates a unique experience that will leave a lasting impression. Shri has performed across the globe\, as well as at prestigious venues and events such as The Royal Albert Hall\, Wembley Arena\, The Commonwealth Games and the BBC. \nRobin Christian is a music composer and flautist\, who plays and directs almost every form of music\, which ranges from folk\, devotional\, soul\, classical in both eastern and western fields. With his recognised talent he has been asked to perform with various well-known artists including leading playback singers like Kavita Krishnamurti\, Alka Yagnik\, Maha Laxmi\, K.S. Chitra\, Salim Merchant\, Bappi Lahiri\, Anuradha Paudwal and Shaan\, and the famous Gujarati singer Praful Dave\, Karshan Sagathia and many more. \nJames Pusey is a UK-based guitarist who also works as an online session guitarist doing recording sessions from his studio in London\, and boasts extensive experience in both Western Music and Indian Music/Sitar. No boundaries – No limits. \nJonathan Mayer\, son of the late Kolkata composer John Mayer\, is a renowned sitarist & composer\, who has composed extensively for many genres including jazz\, Indian\, dance & symphonic writing and has performed all over the world\, and two very successful tours in India. His ability to read Western notation has allowed him to perform in a variety of genres – playing with artists such as Orlando Consort\, The London Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra\, among other notable names. \nShri Gadhvi is a versatile tabla player and music producer\, with the ability to blend the Indian tabla with popular western music\, creating an incredible fusion of music that transcends boundaries and creates a unique experience that will leave a lasting impression. Shri has performed across the globe\, as well as at prestigious venues and events such as The Royal Albert Hall\, Wembley Arena\, The Commonwealth Games and the BBC. \nRobin Christian is a music composer and flautist\, who plays and directs almost every form of music\, which ranges from folk\, devotional\, soul\, classical in both eastern and western fields. With his recognised talent he has been asked to perform with various well-known artists including leading playback singers like Kavita Krishnamurti\, Alka Yagnik\, Maha Laxmi\, K.S. Chitra\, Salim Merchant\, Bappi Lahiri\, Anuradha Paudwal and Shaan\, and the famous Gujarati singer Praful Dave\, Karshan Sagathia and many more. \nJames Pusey is a UK-based guitarist who also works as an online session guitarist doing recording sessions from his studio in London\, and boasts extensive experience in both Western Music and Indian Music/Sitar. Their lyrics are sung entirely in the Welsh language (Cymraeg)\, and flicker in the moonlight. Tristwch y Fenywod (translated as… The Sadness of Women) are Gwretsien Ferch Lisbeth (Guttersnipe\, Petronn Sphene)\, Leila Lygad (Hawthonn) and Sidni Sarffwraig (Slaylor Moon\, The Courtneys). Formed in 2022 in Leeds\, where the band are primarily based\, Tristwch y Fenywod sounds like an early 4AD group dredged from the waters of an Anglesey swamp. Griots are entrusted with the responsibility of preserving the history\, culture and values of their people. They are historians\, storytellers\, community builders\, peace bringers and teachers. \nThrough music and song\, Griots carry the identity of the people through generations. Yet the relevance of Griot teachings extends far beyond their West African roots: the whole world could do with a little more peace\, acceptance and care – for one another and for the planet. These themes permeate his new album Jaliya Silokang – The Path of a Griot\, from new compositions about Gambian environmental struggles with climate change to reimaginations of ancient songs centered around love and family. \nAt this one-off performance in London Suntou will launch his album\, performing it live for the first time alongside a 10-piece ensemble.
