SUMMARY:Young People (11–16yrs ): Visual Narratives with Maliheh Zafarnezhad
DESCRIPTION:In this two-hour creative session led by The View from Here exhibition artist Maliheh Zafarnezhad\, young people will dive deeper into the rich visual world of Leighton House. \nUsing a curated selection of images – historic photographs\, architectural details\, decorative tiles\, and objects from the museum – they will explore experimental image-transfer processes to build layered\, contemporary artworks. \nThe workshop will focus on visual storytelling: How can an image be transformed? How do we give historical objects new meaning? Young artists will experiment with composition\, contrast\, and mixed-media techniques to create artworks that blend the past with their own voice and perspective. \nBy the end of the workshop\, each participant will have a unique piece that reinterprets the museum’s visual heritage through their own imagination and artistic choices. \n  \nUseful information: \n· This is a drop-off workshop suitable for unaccompanied people aged 11-16 years. \n·       All workshops take place in the Learning Centre at Leighton House. \n·       All materials are provided. \n·       Entry to the museum and exhibitions is included for young people joining the workshop. Adults can enjoy the garden and Drawings Gallery for free\, or visit the café\, but will need to buy an admission ticket if they wish to visit the historic house. \n  \nMeet Maliheh Zafarnezhad \nMaliheh Zafarnezhad is an Irish-Iranian artist and educator whose work explores themes of identity\, memory\, and cultural hybridity. Based between London and Milton Keynes\, she draws on her experience as an Iranian-born artist living in the diaspora to create evocative\, multi-layered visual narratives. Maliheh holds an MA in History of Art from the University of Limerick\, Ireland\, and a B.Sc. in Geology from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad\, Iran. Her cross-disciplinary background informs a unique artistic approach that blends research\, visual storytelling\, and cultural reflection. Working primarily with photography\, she reimagines old photographs by incorporating collage\, painting\, found objects\, and stylistic elements inspired by Persian miniatures. These techniques allow her to transform archival images into contemporary reflections on personal and collective histories. \n  \nFor updates on all of our upcoming events sign up to our museums e-newsletter

SUMMARY:Klára Hosnedlová: Echo
DESCRIPTION:11 Feb 2026 – 29 Mar 2026 \nWhite Cube Bermondsey will open a solo exhibition of work by Klára Hosnedlová\, marking the artist’s debut with the gallery. Klára Hosnedlová’s corporeal\, immersive installations address utopian visions and imagine our future\, post-nature selves. Conceived as part-stage\, part-laboratory\, ‘Echo’ combines her signature photo-realist embroideries with architectural elements\, large-scale sculpture and textile works and living mycelium fungus. Incorporating performance elements and accompanied by a soundscape\, the artist choreographs a fictional narrative around themes of flux and transformation. \n\nKlára Hosnedlová (b. 1990\, Uherské Hradiště) is a Czech artist based in Berlin whose practice examines historical perception through utopian design and architecture. Responding to specific sites\, she researches experimental projects and past futurisms\, exploring how nostalgia shapes contemporary culture. Drawing on science fiction\, technology and ecological systems\, Hosnedlová creates immersive installations with a tactile\, “futuristic archaeological” atmosphere. Part of the first post-Communist Czech generation\, she is inspired by modernist and Brutalist architecture in Central and Eastern Europe and its intersections with politics\, history and mythology. Her work combines sculpture\, performance\, photography and embroidered panels and has been exhibited internationally\, including at Kunsthalle Basel\, Kestner Gesellschaft and the Lyon Biennale. \nFor more information about the exhibition please visit White Cube Bermondsey website \nOrgansied by White Cube Berdmonsey.

SUMMARY:Journey of Light
DESCRIPTION:Journey of Light is a solo exhibition of recent works by London-based artist Özlem Sorlu Thompson\, whose vibrant paintings embody the Mediterranean sun of her native Turkey. \n  \nThe centrepiece of the show was directly inspired by a recent visit to Şeytan Sofrası\, a volcanic hilltop on the Aegean coast known for a mythical lava pond that\, according to legend\, marks the spot where the devil left his footprint as he was expelled from heaven. \n  \nWhat started as a sketch on a small canvas grew into a polyptych and the artist’s largest painting to date. As each section blends into the next and layers of imaginary florals cover the dreamlike landscape\, Thompson takes us on a visual journey that merges ancient folklore with hopes for the future. \n  \nInitially approaching flora and fauna\, and exotic plants in particular\, with scientific curiosity\, Thompson’s art is guided by intuition and an interest in the less tangible qualities\, expressing her love for nature. Carrying the sun within them\, her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections as far afield as Dubai and the Americas. \n  \nJourney of Light marks the tenth anniversary of Özlem Sorlu Thompson’s move to North London and serves as a symbolic link between her motherland and her chosen home.

SUMMARY:Life of a Lifer - Charles 'Bronson' Salvador
DESCRIPTION:Lily Selavie Gallery is proud to announce our display of the collected works of Charles ‘Bronson’ Salvador\, a world-renowned artist and prisoner. Infamous for his controversial incarceration\, his work is a reflection of his life behind bars\, an eclectic array of emotions and experiences of life inside the British prison system. \nTo many\, a life sentence would be a death knell of hopelessness. Salvador expertly shuns this through his art\, showing his love of life in every stroke and smudge\, often in bizarre and wonderful collages of quotations\, characters\, and animated scenes. It is his passion for the physical that\, for many\, underlies and often underestimates Charlie’s strength of mind and spirit against adversity. \nThe show – ‘Life of a Lifer’ – will debut at a private view on 12th February 2026\, from 6 PM to 9 PM. \nAn open exhibition will follow from 13th February to 12th March 2026\, with doors open from 12:30 PM to 6 PM. \nAdmission to both events is restricted to ticket holders only\, with day passes available at the door during the open exhibition dates.

SUMMARY:London Loo Tour
DESCRIPTION:It’s Not the Bog-Standard London Experience! \nPrepare to be immersed (metaphorically\, that is!) in a world where the humble toilet becomes a portal to explore history\, anthropology\, art\, architecture\, identity\, and of course\, our sense of humour. \nFrom the earliest latrines through to the future of flushing\, your guide will take you on a whirlwind tour through the history of Britain’s public toilets\, with plenty of interesting sights and practical tips along the way. You’ll answer all the questions you never knew you had… How did the Romans wipe their bottoms?  Was there really a man named Thomas Crapper? How long will you spend in the smallest room in a lifetime? And why do we even call it a loo? \nIt’s the perfect day out for anyone who likes to dive a bit deeper… lifelong Londoners and first time visitors alike! One thing is for sure: you may never think about a simple visit to the lavatory the same way again!

SUMMARY:CINDY + THE GABYS
DESCRIPTION:CINDY + THE GABYS\n\nFriday 13 February\nChats Palace\, 42-44 Brooksby’s Walk\, London\, E9 6DF\n7.30pm | £14 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/yd196e6fb1a4 \n\nCINDY is a key part of the San Francisco/Bay Area dream pop\, fog pop\, and lo-fi scene. Led by NYC-originating songwriter Karina Gill\, the steady stream of releases has earned sincere support from the international press community\, who have vividly championed the writing and sound. The songs are hazy but with intent – this is nostalgic pop-craft with lyrical backbone that has opened doors for Cindy to tour and appear at festivals in the UK\, Europe and USA\, most recently with DIY recording icon\, Linda Smith. \nThe current Cindy touring band includes members Will Smith of Now\, Staizsh Rodrigues of Children Maybe Later\, and Oli Lipton of Now and Violent Change. Cindy will tour the EU & UK in 2026\, while making progress back home in San Francisco on the eagerly awaited fifth album. Cindy have previous releases available through Tough Love and Paisley Shirt Records. \nhttps://cindytheband.bandcamp.com/ \nTHE GABYS are a duo made up of Matt Wilkinson and Natasha Bikkul. They write mysterious\, eerie bedroom pop from their home in Liverpool. This is Velvet Underground-inspired electric folk music that can roll with 90s New Zealand greats like Dadamah and The Garbage & The Flowers but also has parallels with current San Francisco lo-fi pop moodists like April Magazine and Mister Baby. They have released music with All Gone\, Fruits and Flowers\, and most recently\, A Colourful Storm. \nhttps://fruitsandflowers.bandcamp.com/album/the-gabys

SUMMARY:San Vito's Valentine Noir at The Old Church - Concert
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a mysterious and romantic night at San Vito’s Valentine Noir to celebrate the release of his upcoming single “Cold Teeth”\n\n\n\nSan Vito’s Valentine Noire \nThis Valentine’s Day\, love takes a crimson turn. \nPlease note strobe lighting will be used during this event \nHeadlining the night is San Vito\, bringing their haunting blend of post-punk and grunge to the stage in a set that fuses raw emotion with cinematic intensity. The band will mark the release of their new single “Cold Teeth”\, out 23 January 2026 — a chilling anthem that’s already stirring underground attention. \nSupporting San Vito are two of the most evocative rising acts in the scene: \n• Soviet Underground — industrial-tinged post-punk drenched in melancholy. \n• Coast Noir — brooding rock soaked in thrills rain and epic tones. \nSan Vito \nStemming from your lust for picturesque punk\, SAN VITO and THE SILENCERS dance with your unspoken romance and pleasure cut cults. San Vito created his neo-punk/black drip blues in a pole dancing speakeasy\, which later became the TASTE MY CHARM EP. \n“She wants death\, but she wants to survive it” reveals to ignite the EP. \nNow\, San Vito joins Kristian Bell (The Wytches) to produce his second EP – Tapping Ten Trinkets – out now. \nSan Vito brings Black Drip Blues next to the forbidden stone. Death’s breath has no tone. \nSoviet Underground \nSoviet Underground is a collective dedicated to the revival of Soviet era underground music scene\, centered around the music of influential Red Wave bands. The collective aims to bring a feel and a glimpse of that sound and atmosphere to the western “music-lover”. The music\, presented by Soviet Underground\, takes the connoisseur on a historic journey through the iconic sound of soviet underground. \nCoast Noir \n⚕️ＡＵＲＯＲＡ ＩＳ ＡＭＯＮＧＳＴ ＵＳ⚕️ \nCoast Noir display an intense theatricality that is matched by no other. Coming down to London from Manchester\, they will certainly need no patience in getting your attension. \nMuch more to be announced… \nWhether you come to waltz beneath the red lights or to mourn love’s ruin\, San Vito’s Valentines Noir promises to be a Valentine’s like no other.

DESCRIPTION:Meet Your Future Ex is Generator London’s anti-Valentine’s Valentine’s party – a free\, tongue-in-cheek night for meeting new people without the cringe or commitment. \n\n\nLeaning into the year of the ex (with heartbreak firmly back in the cultural spotlight thanks to Lily Allen\, Cardi B\, Benson Boone and more)\, this is less earnest romance and more self-aware fun.
