DESCRIPTION:Go to our website to see the Full Film Festival Programme \nThe Together! 2020 Disability Film Festival is still open for entries\, screening films by Deaf/Disabled filmmakers and films with a strong central Deaf/Disabled character. We usually screen films no more than 18 months after completion\, but this year we are extending the call to any qualifying film made since 2012. (If your film has been screened by us in the past\, it will automatically be considered for our ‘Best of’ programme.) \nOur priority is to provide a platform for strong storytelling\, highlighting the lived experiences of Deaf/Disabled people from diverse backgrounds\, and the talents of community\, emerging and mid-career Deaf/Disabled filmmakers. Filmmakers do not need to identify as disabled themselves if Disabled people or Disability are the subject of the film. Deaf/Disabled filmmakers can submit work on any subject. Many of our films are world or international premieres\, and go on to festivals worldwide. We also collaborate to cross-programme films with festivals including Oska Bright\, SuperFest\, Kynnskino and Little Wing and with BSL Zone. \nWe give Kat Awards for Best First Film\, Best Animation\, Best Dance Film\, Best Drama\, Best Documentary\, Best Film in a Language other than English\, Best Accessible Film and Lifetime Achievement. We also use our own ‘D’ rating system – one D each for a Deaf/Disabled (self-defined) person generating the film’s content\, taking overall lead in making the film\, and being the focus or star(s) of the film\, working with or without support. \nIn order to extend access we always offer a virtual festival in addition to the screenings in East London\, republishing the programme on the opening night with links to films that are available online. This year’s Festival is entirely virtual\, using the Together! 2012 TV live-streaming facilities. We are therefore adding a number of opportunities for filmmakers to connect with each other and audiences via Zoom and other virtual events. \nIn order to enter\, email film@together2012.org.uk with a viewing link and the following information (which is used in the programme if successful): \nName of film; name of director; country of origin; date completed; length; premiere status; short description; publicly available link for online viewing if available; access availability (English captions\, audio-description\, sign language). \nNB: Please substitute the above with your information rather than adding to it. So for example How I See. Catherine Colbourne. UK. 2019. 3:02. Premiere. Using sound and manipulated video\, Catherine Colbourne shares the way she views the world. Available to watch free online at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-PrY6VRIbY&feature=youtu.be No Dialogue. Audio-described with Visual Guide available.

SUMMARY:Eco Festive Fashion Week
DESCRIPTION:We are Eco Fashion Events – A collective hosting pop-ups and online events that celebrate the best of sustainable fashion\, style & crafts. \nWe’d love you to join us for our first ever series of Eco Festive Fashion Week events – happening 5th to 11th December 2020. \nWith the news that every 2-in-5 Christmas jumpers bought in the UK are discarded after being worn once\, the seeds for our eco festive fashion week were planted. \nThis year\, we expect Christmas to be quite different to usual. Needless to say we don’t expect there will be too many office parties or opportunities for get-togethers. We also strongly believe that\, as we draw this year to a close\, we all need a good excuse to enjoy ourselves\, reflect and reset. \nWe have over 10 individual events planned in collaboration with some exciting international collaborators across the fashion and craft space… To name a few\, we will be slowing down with a meditative stitching workshop\, seeing how to upcycle items we already own into festive Christmas jumpers\, and figuring out what to do with our seasonal fashions once the party’s over! Bringing it all together with a Christmas Jumper Day/Ugly Sweater (to our US friends) Party Zoom style. We are also fundraising for Save the Children with each event having an optional donation element included. The events are individually ticketed with a price to reflect. Please check out our Eventbrite listings and book a ticket or two\, or all! \nWe really hope that\, along with highlighting the best of eco & ethical style at Christmas\, our week of events will leave you feeling inspired and empowered.\nCan’t wait to see you there!

SUMMARY:Making History Festival: Indus: The Sound of the Story
DESCRIPTION:Please go to the website Link to book tickets to this event \nIndus: The Sound of the Story practical workshop with Gestalt Arts \nWhether it’s on film or live\, the visuals are only half the story\, and the sound is vital for people who are blind or visually impaired. In this practical session\, Ruth Mariner of Gestalt Arts and a foley artist present their ongoing work with opera in their production Indus\, and explore how live ‘foley’ sound effects and audio-description can heighten the experience for everyone.Bethan performs in Indus \nAlthough the production has been paused due to Covid-19 restrictions\, Indus is an intimate new work and unique approach to integrated access using electronic music\, foley sound effects\, audio-description and the operatic voice. The production explores the relationship between disability and environment through the unlikely story of whale evolution. When a land-mammal begins first to explore the water\, she finds a place where her differences become strengths\, embarking on a journey of self-discovery towards an extraordinary future. \nInfluenced by the theatre-making of Tim Crouch (Adler and Gib)\, Simon McBurney (The Encounter)\, Bryony Kimmings (Fake it Till you Make it)\, and contemporary composer Meredith Monk\, a team of opera/theatre makers join visually impaired singer Bethan Langford to re-examine the relationship between stage and sound\, text\, drawing and representation. In a cocoon-like sound word of soft electronic textures and song\, staging and foley sound effects interact with storytelling (audio-description)\, leaving space for the imagination and creating a powerful and equal experience for visually impaired and sighted audiences.

SUMMARY:Christmas pop up cinema- How the Grinch stole Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Grinch lives in solitude just outside Whoville. He hates the townsfolk and despises Christmas. Cindy Lou\, a six-year-old girl who believes in the spirit of the festival\, sets out to reform him. \nThis movie really reveals the meaning of Christmas by revealing what It is not about\, which is materialism or gifts. \nBy grabbing hold of and finding the strength of the very merry\, holly and jolly Christmas\, he saves everyone’s Christmas instead of stealing or ruining it. They make his Christmas the best one so far\, and he makes the Christmas their best ever. \nShowing How the Grinch stole Christmas\, doors open at 12pm and the film will begin at 12.45pm \nWe will also have a food and drinks stall\, providing all the sweet and savoury cinema favourites as well as mulled wine for the adults. \nTickets are limited and we will be implementing a special seating arrangement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have further information on our website http://www.croftonparkpictures.com outlining all of our special measures\, rest assured we want this to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

SUMMARY:Christmas pop up cinema- Home Alone 2 Lost in New York
DESCRIPTION:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXNmkd4mWc8 \n  \nKevin accidentally boards a flight to New York City and gets separated from his family who are on their way to Miami. He then bumps into two of his old enemies\, who plan to rob a toy store. Home Alone 2 is basically the same thing as the original but still hilarious. This time\, he’s not Home Alone. Instead\, he’s stranded in the big apple by himself\, along with the same likable villains that we all know and love. The casts are the same\, which is good. When it comes to sequels\, I usually don’t like it when a character is been replaced with different cast\, but you don’t see it here. Overall\, everything is the same (the story\, the soundtrack\, actors/characters\, etc)\, but the only thing that’s different was the setting. A hilarious family film that everybody will enjoy nonetheless. \n\nShowing Home Alone 2 Lost in New York\, doors open at 3.45pm and the film will begin at 4.30pm (Running time 2 hrs)\n\nWe will also have a food and drinks stall\, providing all the sweet and savoury cinema favourites as well as mulled wine for the adults. \nTickets are limited and we will be implementing a special seating arrangement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. SUMMARY:Christmas pop up cinema- Love Actually
DESCRIPTION:Love Actually is a 2003 Christmas-themed romantic comedy film written and directed by Richard Curtis. \nThe Movie follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London\, England. \nLove Actually provides enough happy endings to make the audience forget that romance and Christmas miracles don’t always work out and it is alternately beguiling and bloated\, witty and warmed over\, smart and pandering. Most audiences love it.\nJoin us at Crofton Park Pictures showing Christmas Classic Love Actually.\nWe will be screening it in The Rivoli Ballroom. \nShowing Love Actually\, doors open at 8pm and the film will begin at 8.45pm (Running time 2.15 hrs) \nWe will also have a food and drinks stall\, providing all the sweet and savoury cinema favourites as well as mulled wine for the adults. \nTickets are limited and we will be implementing a special seating arrangement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
