SUMMARY:The Soothsayer’s Chorus
DESCRIPTION:The Soothsayer’s Chorus is a group exhibition co-curated by Beth Greenacre and Bettina Prentice that reclaims Cassandra\, the prophetess of Troy cursed to speak the truth without being believed. Bringing together an international group of women artists\, the exhibition explores intuition\, ancestral memory and speculative futures\, forming a collective chorus whose ecological and social visions demand attention. The exhibition is presented at Britannia Row Studios\, Pink Floyd’s former recording studios in Islington.

SUMMARY:Colin Manford - off The Record - Comedy
DESCRIPTION:Colin Manford returns with Off The Record- the music investigation nobody asked for\, but absolutely needed. \nA fast-paced\, storytelling stand-up show that digs into the strangest stories\, myths and mysteries hiding in the world of pop music. \nFrom iconic songs and bizarre recording sessions to misheard lyrics\, urban legends and the questionable behaviour of certain celebrities\, Colin pulls apart the moments we all think we know… and reveals the nonsense underneath. Expect detective-style breakdowns\, wild theories\, visual evidence\, audience interaction\, and a level of confidence about facts that really shouldn’t be delivered with confidence. \nFresh from packed shows across the UK\, Colin blends observational stand-up with multimedia chaos\, cartoon noir slides\, and forensic overanalysis of songs that probably don’t deserve it. It’s silly\, clever\, daft and a genuinely unique take on music-based comedy. \n

SUMMARY:SOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE + SHE THE THRONE | Upset The Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nSOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE\nSHE THE THRONE\nSaturday 17 October\nThe Horse Hospital\, Colonnade\, London\, WC1N 1JD\n7.30pm | £11 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/hf9055210b2d \nSOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE is a Franco-Moroccan artist who distills a singular music. Blending folk\, noise\, experimental song\, and avant-garde poetry\, she invents a new language of her own. Born into the perpetual exile of a childhood divided between two countries\, Sophia has turned wandering into her greatest strength. As a modern poetess\, she now takes the stage alone\, armed with an electric guitar\, to sing of the beauty of the lands she has ceaselessly left behind. Her live performances intertwine Mediterranean music with ecological and feminist themes\, all of it carried by a syncretic approach that merges into a mysticism meant as an invitation to break the course of things and to reclaim one’s strength. Her latest album\, Sécheresse\, released in february 2025 unveils nine mesmerizing & genre-defying tracks imbued with magnetic allure. Austere yet baroque\, dark yet luminous\, raw yet refined\, this work escapes all categorization: it is an act of faith. To class among the unclassifiable\, Sophia Djebel Rose lays the foundations for an oeuvre that follows in the lineage of avant-garde women who never ceased to challenge and expand the limits of style. \nhttps://sophiadjebelrose.bandcamp.com/ \nSHE THE THRONE are a ritual noise duo from Manchester UK. They aim to bring forth an ancient latent rhythmic union merging themselves\, the space they play with the audience who listens\, urging them to remember. Musically incorporating elements of industrial music and harsh noise with the darker melody of bands like Portishead\, fused to the backbone of experimental hip hop. Since the release of their 2023 album\, “NUNTIS” on Trepanation Recordings\, they have shared line ups with a diverse range of artists such as: The Body & Dis Fig\, Wolf Eyes\, METH\, AYA\, Dälek\, Greet\, SATORI\, Collosloth and more. \nhttps://shethethrone.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:Andy Hamilton’s Night To Remember
DESCRIPTION:Andy Hamilton\, much-loved and acclaimed comedian\, writer\, director\, novelist\, panellist\, and of course cartoon voice artist\, brings his brand-new show A Night To Remember to London! \n  \nExploring the wonders and the weaknesses of human memory\, Andy looks at how laughter oils the wheels of the brain. (Please note that Andy is not a qualified neurologist. And the brain probably does not have wheels.) In an evening of classic comedy\, Andy will do his best to recall the nights to remember from his own life\, as a writer\, performer\, producer\, director\, failed quiz show contestant\, choir boy\, under-rated footballer and cartoon elephant dentist. He’ll examine moments that have shaped his life and collective experiences that have impacted us all in an entertaining\, thoughtful\, but above all\, very funny evening with a veteran master of comedy.

SUMMARY:Tallulah Rendall Only Human UK Tour (St Pancas Old Church) - Concert
DESCRIPTION:ONLY HUMAN is more than an album — it’s an immersive companion exploring what it means to live with an open heart in a complex world. \nABOUT → TALLULAH RENDALL \nTallulah Rendall’s seventh album\, HUMAN\, is a raw and cinematic exploration of what it means to live with an open heart in a world that often rewards disconnection. Blending alt-pop\, electronic textures\, and organic instrumentation\, the album chronicles her journey from shame and a lack of self-belief to self-acceptance and love; a deeply personal yet universal reflection on the courage to be human.” A love letter to the messy beauty of existence — to falling\, breaking\, healing\, and rising again. Each song is a prayer\, a confession\, a reclamation of self. It’s an album about remembering who we are beneath the noise; raw\, imperfect\, and profoundly alive. \nhttps://www.tallulahrendall.com/  \nTallulah’s performance includes Ben Roberts (cello & vocals)\, Sam Walker (drums & vocals)\, Steffanie Kelly (piano & vocals)\, and David Curtis (double bass) \nAtton=Raon – support \nMulti-Instrumental performer/composer Sam Walker – Sprawling experimental pop flows through soaring melody\, rolling textural beats and pin-drop moments held within a world of sound design\, spoken word\, exquisite lighting and visuals. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/attonraon/

SUMMARY:Brother Tree Sound: Folk Tales\, Landscapes and a Life Story
DESCRIPTION:For this 30th edition of the Made in Prague festival\, Brother Tree Sound will play 3 string quartets with fascinating connections to Prague. They will be playing a quartet bursting with folk melodies\, dances and life – quartet no 1 ‘From my Life’ by the 19th century Czech composer Bedřich Smetana\, who was considered by many to be the father of Czech classical music and whose music is inspired by the history\, legends and landscape of his native Bohemia. This autobiographical quartet tells the composer’s life story in four parts\, from the carefree early days of his youth\, through midlife love and heartache\, to his later years\, when the music depicts the anguish he felt with the onset of his deafness. \nElizabeth Maconchy was born in England to Irish parents. She studied with Ralph Vaughan Williams. Feeling drawn to the music of Eastern Europe and composers such as Janáček\, she travelled to Prague to study with Czech composer Karel Boleslav Jirák. Her quartet no. 3 is short but intensely felt\, with discussion between the four players around a central theme that dominates with intent. \nKateřina Horká is an emerging Czech composer. Her String Quartet no. 2 ‘Icelandic Landscape’ was the winning piece of the 7th Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition. Kateřina’s music draws inspiration from many styles and genres. This quartet is evocative and spacious\, depicting the vast open spaces of Iceland. \nProgramme:\nBedřich Smetana String Quartet No. 1 in E minor ‘From My Life / Z mého života\nElizabeth Maconchy String Quartet No. 3\, op. 15\nKateřina Horká String Quartet No. 2 ‘Icelandic Landscape’ \nBrother Tree Sound\, string quartet \nHire String Quartets and String Ensembles in London.

SUMMARY:Legend of Kaliakra | Cockpit Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the legend of forty maidens who chose death over slavery\, Legend of Kaliakra explores the hidden emotional lives of the women behind one of Bulgaria’s most enduring stories. Blending poetic text and music\, the production explores what remains unseen in history: the psychological and emotional worlds of the women behind the legend – their fears\, guilt\, love\, courage\, and confrontation with the oppressor. \nThrough four interconnected female perspectives\, the work reimagines a historical narrative as a story of choice\, dignity\, and freedom. Performed in Bulgarian with English subtitles. Elitsaa Yovcheva directed the play at the National Theatre and the Youth Theatre in Bulgaria. The show premiered in Sofia in 2023 and has since toured cities along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Making its London premiere at the VOILA! Festival\, Legend of Kaliakra invites UK audiences to encounter a powerful Bulgarian story through the shared language of theatre\, movement\, and music.

SUMMARY:The Radical Wedding Engine | Cockpit Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Five people decide to get married. To each other. Sort of. But how do you build a wedding when the rules don’t quite fit? The Radical Wedding Engine is a playful experiment in marriage\, chosen family and artistic partnership. Five East Asian migrant artists who have worked together for years take the wedding apart and put it back together again — testing vows\, rituals\, traditions and expectations along the way. What happens when an artistic partnership starts to look like a marriage? Can a wedding celebrate friendship\, collaboration and chosen family? And what might commitment look like beyond the couple? Moving between sincerity and absurdity\, intimacy and spectacle\, they explore different ways of caring\, committing and belonging\, while attempting to build a ceremony of their own. Developed through The Yard Theatre’s Live Drafts programme and a Making Space residency at Battersea Arts Centre.

SUMMARY:Mark Thomas: 40 In Stand Up Years
DESCRIPTION:One of our oldest surviving alternative comics celebrates 40 years at the mic as he brings his brand-new show to the Leicester Square Theatre for an extra show! \nSo\, here’s what he has done so far in numbers; performed comedy for 40 years\, won 8 awards for performing\, 4 for human rights work and 1 he invented for himself\, made 6 series of the Mark Thomas Comedy Product (Channel 4)\, written 6 books and 5 play scripts\, made 5 series of the Manifesto for Radio 4\, made 3 Dispatches for Channel 4\, sued the police (and won) 3 times\, curated and authored 2 art exhibitions with artist Tracey Moberly and had 1 Guinness World Record for holding 20 protests in 24 hours. \nIf that’s not enough\, he’s also walked 724km around the length of the Israel Wall in the West Bank\, been credited with changing the law on tax avoidance\, started a comedy club in Palestine with Dr Sam Beale and campaigned successfully for things like trade union recognition for cinema workers and getting multinationals to change their practices. You’re right\, there’s more\, but your attention is running out and we’re running out of space. So\, let’s just say he’s generally mucked about trying to have fun and upset the right people…which he is really\, really good at. \nThis is a taster menu of political and personal mayhem\, jokes\, rants and a state of the nation broadcast as he tries to turn ‘what the hell is going on’ into a cogent evening of stand-up.

Arabic\, Hebrew\, Turkish and Kurdish songs sit next to each other\, carried on oud\, clarinet\, violin\, keys\, drums and percussion. \nThis special night features Mira Awad\, a Palestinian-Israeli singer\, songwriter and actor\, born in the Galilee village of Rameh. In 2009 she represented Israel at Eurovision alongside Achinoam Nini. It was the first Israeli entry with Arabic lyrics\, and the first sung by an artist of Arab origin. Awad has performed with Bobby McFerrin\, Andrea Bocelli and Quincy Jones\, and appeared at Sanremo in 2025. \nFor the first time\, Makam Salam will be joining forces with the Jerusalem Youth Chorus Alumni Collective\, a shared choir of Palestinian and Jewish Israeli singers from Jerusalem. Their alumni collective\, called “A Different Way\,” will be part of the show. Together\, Makam Salam and A Different Way bring the audience into the music itself. Expect interactive song making\, live participation\, and real dialogue through music. \nSince forming in 2024\, Makam Salam have sold out Stone Nest\, PizzaExpress Jazz Club\, Next Door Records and The Cockpit. They have also played Shambala and Soul Revolution festivals this year. Their February 2026 Jazz In The Round show sold out the venue\, and they are proud to return this November as part of EFG London Jazz Festival. \nAll money raised from this show goes straight back into not-for-profit work\, helping fund a debut album recording and touring costs for the Jerusalem Youth Chorus Alumni Collective. \nTo Book Live Jazz Bands for your London events\, visit Music for London’s featured Jazz Band profiles.

SUMMARY:Valerie and Her Week of Wonders + Intro by writer Virginie Sélavy
DESCRIPTION:The boundary between dream and reality blurs in this hallucinatory coming-of-age work with nightmarish turns. \nA girl on the verge of womanhood is introduced to the perilous world of desire\, in this gothic folktale filled with macabre symbolism. Between demons\, incestuous love and vampiric grandmothers\, nothing is what it seems. Made before the cultural restrictions of the normalisation period took over the country’s film industry\, this late work of the Czech New Wave still retains its cult status. \nDigitisation carried out in 2026 in UPP and Soundsquare studios by the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in collaboration with the Národní filmový archiv\, Prague and the Czech Audiovisual Fund\, with funding from Milada Kučerová and Eduard Kučerá. \nDir. Jaromil Jireš\, Czechoslovakia 1970\, 77´\, English subtitles. (15)\nCast: Jaroslava Schallerová\, Helena Anyžová\, Petr Kopřiva and Jiří Prýmek. \nContains scenes of abuse and suicide.
