SUMMARY:IMTwentyOne –
Exhibition + Online Auction

Works including painting\, drawing\, ceramics\, sculpture and prints will be exhibited at IMT Gallery in a democratic alphabetical hang\, and made available via an online auction launching to coincide with London Gallery Weekend. Each work will have a starting bid of £50. \nParticipating artists include those IMT has previously collaborated with\, alongside nominations by the gallery’s represented artists David Burrows\, Plastique Fantastique\, Maggie Roberts and Ra Tack\, and curators the gallery has worked with over the years\, including Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson\, Kirsten Cooke and Nicole Sansone. The project reflects on the artists\, conversations and projects that have shaped the gallery over the past two decades\, and offers a wide range of current practices presented by an international community of artists. \nAll works in IMTwentyOne have been kindly donated by the participating artists. Proceeds from the auction will support IMT’s future curatorial and educational programmes. \nAbout IMT Gallery: \nFounded in 2005\, IMT Gallery is a contemporary art space in London dedicated to showcasing critically engaged and innovative art. With two decades of experience\, the gallery has built a reputation for supporting boundary-pushing artists and presenting thought-provoking projects that delve into complex social\, cultural\, and philosophical themes. Alongside its exhibition programme\, the gallery represents a core group of emerging to established artists\, organises workshops and courses that offer a unique approach to engaging with art\, and commissions experimental writing on critical contemporary art. \nRoutledge recently published Contemporary Exhibition-Making and Management: Curating IMT Gallery as a Hybrid Space\, authored by the gallery’s long-standing curator (2005 – 2023) Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson. The book is part of a series on the Global Creative Economy\, edited by Aleksandar Brkić. \n  \n_ \nImage: Adam Chodzko\, Dream Skeleton [25] (2025)\, photographic retouching inks and pen on paper\, 21 x 29.7 cm

SUMMARY:The Art of Mini Golf - Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:An exhibition of rebellion and play for the curious\, the competitive\, and anyone bold enough to swing outside the lines.\nPlay your way through nine adventurous mini-golf holes\, each designed by a leading woman artist\, as you explore the game’s subversive history. \nArtist\, filmmaker and writer Miranda July (All Fours) goes ‘All Fores’ for the project. Kaylene Whiskey sets course with pop icons woven through Anangu culture. Tokyo’s Saeborg unleashes latex creatures of cartoonish menace\, Delaine Le Bas squares the circle\, and Natasha Tontey entwines speculative storytelling with mythology\, technology\, and alternative histories. Atlanta rapper BKTHERULA joins sound artist Kate Miller to make swamp flowers bloom. Australian duo Soda Jerk open an algorithmic K-hole\, and prolific photographer Pat Brassington dives headfirst. \nOnly the most audacious artists are here because mini golf itself was born of rebellion. The game was originally invented by 19th-century Scottish women who were banned from ‘real’ courses but refused to sit on the sidelines. \nPick your putter. It’s art that fills the cup.

SUMMARY:Soho Solos: Mandy Hudson\, James Robert Morrison\, Conor Quinn\, Alice Sheppard Fidler
DESCRIPTION:Great Pulteney Street gallery is delighted to present Soho Solos\, four solo presentations by Soho Open prize winners Mandy Hudson\, James Robert Morrison\, Conor Quinn and Alice Sheppard Fidler. \nSelected from around 100 artists shortlisted for the inaugural Soho Open exhibition\, each of the winning artists returns with a solo presentation in one of the four galleries at GPS. Running concurrently\, the Soho Solos provide a snapshot of the exciting variety of approaches in contemporary art today. \nAlice Sheppard Fidler and Mandy Hudson find inspiration in and give new meaning to discarded\, overlooked and found objects. Whereas Hudson elevates everyday items by arranging them into still lifes\, immortalising them in her paintings\, Sheppard Fidler combines objects and materials into sculptures and installations that shift and evolve in relation to the space they inhabit. \nConor Quinn and James Robert Morrison reclaim memories of secrecy and shame shaped by their experience of growing up gay within heteronormative and adversarial environments. While Quinn combines elements of self portraiture and handmade puppets into surreal oil paintings\, Morrison translates imagery from personal vintage gay pornography into delicate pencil drawings\, using cigarette (fag) papers as a fragile\, unconventional surface. Presented in separate spaces under one roof in Soho\, the four solos come together as a collection of visual short stories.

SUMMARY:REJECTS - Artworks by the Royal Academy
DESCRIPTION:REJECTS: A Celebration of Overlooked Artworks by the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. \nNow in its fourth year and previously featured in The BBC\, The Guardian\, and The Art Newspaper\, REJECTS is back this June with a brand-new line-up of artists and artworks that didn’t make it into the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Each year around 18\,000 artists apply to the RA\, but only about 1\,500 make the cut\, leaving a whole lot of talent that might otherwise go unseen. \nHoused in a quaint 19th-century bakery on Notting Hill’s iconic Portobello Road\, this year’s exhibition provides a defiant spotlight for these brilliant\, overlooked works. Spanning painting\, sculpture\, photography\, textiles\, and mixed media\, the show features a fresh mix of emerging and established artists reclaiming their space on the summer art calendar. Expect a range of bold statements and thoughtful storytelling\, from bright\, joyful paintings and embroidered buildings to hauntingly beautiful figures. \nWhether you’re an art collector or just art-curious\, Art Friend welcomes everyone to the gallery. So you can decide for yourselves: did the judges make the right decision? Come be the critic and see which artworks make your cut. And if you really love a REJECT\, you can buy it and take it home with you\, as all the artwork on display is for sale. \nOpening Night Drinks: Thursday 18 June & Friday 19 June\, 5–9 pm Join us for drinks\, music\, and a first look at this year’s REJECTS. \nWhy REJECTS matters: REJECTS isn’t just an exhibition\, it’s a movement. It highlights how much talent is out there and how many people face rejection on a daily basis\,we have all been rejects once! So come join the club\, root for the underdog and enjoy seeing what talent has been given a second chance.

SUMMARY:Richard III - London Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Following acclaimed productions in Madrid and internationally\, Argentine director Nicolás Pérez Costa presents a new London adaptation of Shakespeare’s Richard III. \nFar from a traditional staging\, this production transforms the classic tragedy into a visceral\, dark\, and deeply human contemporary theatrical experience. Performed in the round\, this physically driven reinterpretation places the audience directly inside a brutal and decaying universe where power is fought through bodies\, rhythm\, and violence. \nBrought to life by an international ensemble cast\, the show combines intense physical theatre\, live percussion\, dynamic character transformations\, and a bold Latin vision to explore the timeless mechanisms of ambition\, seduction\, and political destruction. It is a raw\, poetic\, and high-energy experience designed specifically for contemporary audiences\, theatre enthusiasts\, and lovers of bold\, visual storytelling who want to see Shakespeare re-imagined for the modern world.

SUMMARY:The Long Play Sessions : Stuart Braithwaite with Spaceships over Glasgow
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an intimate and electrifying evening with Stuart Braithwaite\, founding member of Mogwai\, as he discusses Spaceships Over Glasgow: Mogwai\, Mayhem and Misspent Youth — a raw\, funny and deeply honest memoir of music obsession\, life on the road\, and the strange magic of live sound. \nThis event forms part of The Long Play Sessions\, ICMP’s curated series celebrating artists and writers who shape how we experience and understand music culture. Each session explores the stories beneath the noise — where creativity\, identity and lived experience intersect — offering audiences a rare chance to engage directly with the people who make and document the music that defines generations. \nIn Spaceships Over Glasgow\, Braithwaite traces his journey from a music-obsessed childhood in Scotland to the global stages of one of the world’s most influential post‑rock bands. With warmth\, self‑deprecation and startling candour\, he recounts formative gigs\, life‑changing records\, chaotic tours and the friendships that sustained Mogwai through decades of relentless volume and evolution. \nSet against the backdrop of Glasgow’s fertile underground scene\, the book is both a love letter to live music and an unfiltered account of the realities of life in a band — the exhilaration\, exhaustion\, excess and uncertain balance between creativity and survival. From teenage discovery of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine\, to tinnitus‑inducing shows and international acclaim\, Braithwaite captures what it means to build a life around sound. \nFar more than a rock memoir\, Spaceships Over Glasgow reflects on youth\, belonging\, and the ways music can serve as escape\, identity and salvation. It speaks to anyone who has ever stood in a crowd and felt their life rearranged by noise — or dreamed of stepping onto a stage and making that feeling happen for others. \nWhat to Expect \n\nAn intimate talk from Stuart\, exploring the stories\, memories and moments behind the book\nInsight into Mogwai’s journey\, Glasgow’s underground music culture\, and the realities of long‑term life in a band\nDiscussion of creativity\, obsession\, touring\, friendship and the sustaining power of loud music\nReflections on youth\, risk\, resilience and the transformative experience of live performance\nAudience Q&A\, offering the chance to engage directly with Braithwaite about writing\, music and Mogwai’s legacy\nBook signing — bring your copy or purchase one at the event\n\nWe look forward to welcoming you to The Long Play Sessions for a candid\, joyful and uncompromising evening celebrating music as a lifelong force — told by someone who has lived it\, loudly and without filter.

SUMMARY:Pup Play: A Queer Pseudo-Lecture (of sorts) - Baron's Court Theatre
DESCRIPTION:THE MULTI-AWARD-WINNING\, INTENSELY CONTROVERSIAL\, AND CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED COMEDY (of sorts) RETURNS TO BARON’S COURT THEATRE\nBaron’s Court often invites the world’s leading lecturers to give talks on the issues that matter. That’s why Professor Handler David is here to give a lecture on the kink of pup play and teach London how to turn their bitchboys into good boys. What begins as a traditional lecture quickly transcends labels through stand-up\, homonormative puppets\, punk music\, gay sex\, and multimedia visuals to become an emotionally provocative and boldly introspective reflection on queer identity. “Filled with Puppy Power” (Watermark News)\, Pup Play “has a heart the size of Clifford the Big Red Dog.” (Broadway World)Noah Alfred Pantano writes and stars. He has been described by critics as “immeasurably talented” (Broadway World)\, “sharp\, quick\, and uncompromising” (GSCENE)\, and “bold\, brazen and stratospherically cheeky\, concealing beneath the girth of energy a good heart and a probing mind.” (Lost in Theatreland). Pantano was awarded runner-up for “Activist of the Year” at the National Queer Student Awards. His other work Standing On A Nail was the best-selling play of Colchester Fringe in 2023. \nPup Play has won five awards and tours around the world raising over $1400+ (so far) for LGBTQ+ charities.\nThe show features music by Jake and the Nowhere\, Alan Xtra\, and Tungsten Lungs.\nThe profits from this performance will be donated to a LGBTQ+ charity.\nPup Play is sponsored by Mr.Riegillio\, MessyPup\, BoboBear\, Sent With Pride\, and Essex Startups.
