SUMMARY:"Adam"\, Resolution Festival 2025
DESCRIPTION:Adam is a self-choreographed solo by Harry Theadora Foster\, being performed as part of a triple bill at Resolution Festival.  \nA body learns he’s alive. A child learns his favourite dance. An adult learns who he might have been.  \nA story of discovery culminates in a conversation between these beings across one body.   \nWhat would they tell each other if given the chance? \nIn a spellbinding journey of memory\, trickery and identity\, Harry Theadora Foster connects characters to their own past\, present and future selves. Adam is a testament to the fact that the act of ‘remembering’ is itself an act of imagination- and a tool to help us reimagine who we are now.  \nHarry Theadora Foster (he/him) is a dance artist based in London. Drawing from autobiographical experiences and his practice as a poet\, storytelling is central to his work\, focused on capturing and exploring human experiences.  \nHe has been a dancer with Akram Khan Company since 2022. A graduate of Rambert School\, he has also worked with companies such as Casson and Friends\, Richard Chappell Dance\, James Cousins Company\, and Richard Alston. His work has been staged in the UK at Lilian Bayliss Theatre Sadlers Wells\, Linbury Theatre Royal Opera House\, Anya Linden Studio Theatre\, The Playground Theatre\, and The Point\, Eastleigh.

SUMMARY:Pascol — Vocal Performance
DESCRIPTION:Pascol’s debut in London: a vocal performance where five voices transform stories of the audience into improvised soundscapes\, creating an intimate musical reflection of shared emotions and memories.\n\n\nMaking its London debut\, Pascol is an experimental vocal project that invites the audience into a unique\, collaborative performance space. Five vocalists\, led by project founder Sasha Gefen—a celebrated musician\, composer\, and music therapist—transform personal stories the audience shares into improvised soundscapes. Each performance is a spontaneous creation\, a one-of-a-kind musical reflection shaped by the emotions and memories of those attending.\n\n\nThe ensemble weaves storytelling and improvisation\, blending ethereal harmonies and evocative vocal textures in real time to mirror the feelings of those in the room. With each composition\, Pascol creates an intimate\, immersive experience that blurs the line between performer and audience\, inviting listeners to connect deeply with the sound and one another.

SUMMARY:Active Involvement in Research (AIRD) 2024: in person and online health conference
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Active Involvement in Research events bring together patients\, service users\, carers\, local people\, researchers\, health and care professionals\, and organisations in south London and beyond. \nThis year’s theme is ‘Improving health and care in south London\, shaping future research.’ \nFor several years\, Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London has researched how various types of health and social care might be improved and inequalities tackled. \nStaff\, public contributors\, the community\, and other partners have worked hard to successfully understand and achieve change for local people who experience a range of issues. This includes those with multiple conditions and those facing disadvantage and discrimination that affects their well-being. But many south Londoners are still at risk and face barriers to getting the treatment and support they need. \nThis year\, Active Involvement in Research will look at: \n\nWhat the focus of future work should be from April 2026 to March 2031\, if funding is available\nHow can we\, our community and other partners build on local strengths and direct limited resources to address current challenges in useful ways? This includes not duplicating what other research teams and organisations have done.\nHow can we further develop active involvement and recognise the value of lived experience in future research?\n\nThis is the second of two events. It will be held online on 18 November 2024\, following the in-person event on 13 November. \nYou are welcome to join us at either or both events to hear about thinking to date and share your views\, which will help to shape future research. Further information will follow\, but places are limited\, so booking early is advisable. \nAttendance is free\, and all are welcome. \nFind out more \n\nTo find out more about the event\, please email involvement coordinator savitri.hensman@kcl.ac.uk. You can also visit www.arc-sl.nihr.ac.uk\nPlease note: Payments will be made to public members who have agreed on a role.

The film received the Jury’s Special Mention at the 2024 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. \nThe women cry over onions in the kitchen\, united in exasperation with their men. The men\, led by recent widower Karel\, drink plum brandy outside\, preparing for a pig killing. This annual gathering is when the family reconnects to enjoy great food. However\, family tensions are high this year\, and things are not going as planned. Karel’s daughter Romana misses her mother\, her sister’s marriage is on the rocks\, and Grandpa doesn’t want to do more pig killings. At the same time\, the butcher hides the fact that the ammunition is damp and a nosy neighbour plans to report the illegal slaughter. Amidst the chaos\, six-year-old Dusik goes missing. Inspired by Miloš Forman’s film and Bohumil Hrabal’s poetics\, the director unveils the Czech temperament\, creating a poignant comedy full of slapstick moments\, searing humour and great empathy amidst gender and generational divides. With strong visuals\, an atmospheric soundtrack\, and a fantastic array of non-actors\, this remarkable debut blends tragic and comic undertones. \nAdam Martinec\, Czech Republic 2024\, 84´\, English subtitles\nCast: Karel Martinec\, Miloslav Čížek\, Pavlina Balner\, Aleš Bílík\, Karin Bilíková \nKarlovy Vary International Film Festival 2024\nA Special Award Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2024\nOur Lovely Pig Slaughter + Q&A with Adam Martinec / Czech Centre London (czechcentres.cz)

SUMMARY:Braco – The Beauty and Power of Silence
DESCRIPTION:Braco: The Beauty and Power of Silence \nBraco needs no words\, teachings or techniques. \nFeel and experience the energy of the universe in his silent gaze. \nEvent in London with Braco 18/19 May \n  \n“I suffered from depression for many years. After the first encounter with Braco at an event in Los Angeles the sadness suddenly disappeared. It happened without me doing anything myself. I just felt happy. My children and my sister also experienced wonderful improvements in their lives without being at the event with Braco. I just thought of them and asked for help.” \n  \nA Mystery of Modern Times \nBraco is a fascinating person with a special gift. His exeptional way of helping\, based on a gentle gaze\, has caught the attention of many people and often helped bring balance to life. \nThere are thousands who have been coming to events and congresses with Braco in the USA\, Australia\, Russia\, Japan\, Israel\, Mexico\, Colombia and most countries in Europe for almost 30 years to experience Braco and his gaze. Some medical doctors\, psychologists\, consciousness researchers look at Braco’s work with great esteem and respect and have written books about him. \nVisitors to the events speak of an energy\, a light\, a strong force that they perceive in and about themselves during gazing with Braco. A feeling of happiness\, a newly awakened joy of life and optimism are reported\, changes in life to the better happen and  many perceive with gratitude peace in their hearts again after years. \nBraco does not consider himself a healer and does not see his work as a substitute for medical therapies. He describes his work with the few words\, “Giving help.” \nEvent with Braco in London: \nThe College Of Psychic Studies\, 16 Queensberry Place\, London SW7 2EB \non MAY 18 and 19 \n5 sessions a day 10 am\, 11 am\, 12 pm\, 1pm and 2 pm \nTickets online www.braco-tv.me Click on „Events“ \nTickets also available at the event: £30 per session \nBook your ticket now!   \nwww.braco-tv.me   YouTube: Braco  official channel \n
