SUMMARY:Fly Fishing - for Emergency Funds 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Kids for Kids’ Executive Fly Fishing Day 2025 will take place at Park Lake\, Albury\, on Saturday\, 11th\, October! \nThe Duke of Northumberland’s private lake will be stocked with trout and if you have never tasted trout straight from the water to your plate then you have no idea how delicious it is. Of course\, you will have to catch it first – but we will provide people to help you! This very special\, secluded lake provides the perfect day out for the family\, a chance to hang with the lads by the lake\, or a fun way to entertain your out-of-town clients\, showing them the beauty of Guildford! Delicious refreshments will be provided throughout the day\, from homemade cakes to lunch with wine and beer. \nWe look forward to welcoming you all – beginners and experienced fisherman alike! \nThis Fly Fishing Day is one of the most special Fishing opportunities you can be part of because every penny raised in profit will help Kids for Kids provide basic essentials to children in Darfur who are in desperate need. The violence over the past 23 months has been far worse than anything we have experienced over the years. Darfur continues to face bitter conflict\, and the indirect effects of violence are almost worse – disease and starvation. Hunger in this century. We are providing sacks of seed for planting and Kids’ Kitchen Kits for families with small children\, which include pulses\, lentils\, powdered meat\, ground nuts and even fresh produce. Children have been deprived of protein for months. By attending our fishing day\, you will enable us to reach many more families. They really need you\, need us\, right now. \nBy joining us on our fishing day out this year\, you can help transform the lives of families in great need. Not to mention\, enjoy a magnificent day at Park Lake\, which is utterly beautiful – and ours for the day! \nYour Ticket Options: \nFull Day tickets (9.30 am to dusk) @ £150 each (min. donation) to include breakfast\, morning coffee & homemade cakes\, lunch with wine and beer\, and finally\, afternoon tea (more homemade cakes!). All drinks are available throughout. \nAM session only (9.30 am to 12:30 pm\, including lunch) @ £85 each (min. donation) to include breakfast\, morning coffee & homemade cakes and lunch with wine and beer. All drinks are available throughout. \nPM session only (12.30 pm lunch ’til dusk) @ £85 each (min. donation) to include lunch with wine and beer and afternoon tea with homemade cakes. All drinks are available throughout. \n“It is nothing short of miraculous that Kids for Kids is actively helping families in Darfur. To date 4\,000 families with children aged five and under have received seeds to eat and to plant for crops – that is 24\,000 people we have helped so far. Yet we must think of the coming months\, not just of immediate needs. Please do put our Fly Fishing in your calendar and tell your friends – make a day of it! Your help in raising essential funds for food this year is invaluable. Thank you.” – Patricia Parker\, OBE Founder. \nN.B. Children (minimum age 10) must be accompanied by a fully paying adult. Because of the limited space on the banks\, children also have to pay full price. The first fish you catch will be yours to keep! There will be a small charge for any additional fish you wish to take home. Sunglasses or glasses and brimmed hats or caps must be worn by everyone. Health and safety is our first concern but you are advised to fish at your own risk.

SUMMARY:Where's Wally? Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Distance: 2.5k\, 5k\, 10k \nRegistration cost: £27 adults\, £15 children\, £78 family (early bird discount of 10% with code WALLY10) \nFundraising pledge: £50/person (over £100 entered into prize draw) \nThe Where’s Wally? Fun Run is a race like no other. Dress up as beloved fictional character Where’s Wally and see if you can be spotted amongst a sea of other Wallys running around Battersea Park. Fun for all the family (including furry friends!) and for serious runners looking for a not-so-serious race experience\, the Where’s Wally? Fun Run is a great way to support the vital work of the National Literacy Trust. \nWith the vital funds you raise\, we can empower children who are facing the biggest disadvantages in life\, with the literacy skills they need to help them shape their future. Over a quarter of children left primary school this year without being able to read well\, which can have a huge knock-on effect for the rest of their lives\, from success at school to even navigating every day life\, as well as impacting their confidence and self-esteem. But we believe that literacy is for everyone\, and there are no limits\, no lost causes\, no last chances. \nHelp us give these children the tools they need to change their story\, by getting your stripes and running shoes on and being a Wally for the day.
