SUMMARY:A Very Difficult Person (W.I.P.)
DESCRIPTION:Are you afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? You should be. \nStoryteller Rhys Williamson brings A Very Difficult Person to SPRINT Festival 2026\, reshaping a real roofing scam into a dark and uncanny modern fairytale. \nWhen the Big Bad Wolf knocks at his door\, Rhys lets him in\, sits him at the dining room table and is shocked when the wolf tries to gobble him up. A small repair twists into unease\, mistrust and the cold realisation that your home may no longer be yours. \nBold\, eerie and unexpectedly moving\, A Very Difficult Person invites audiences into a lived experience that is as absurd as it is frightening. At its heart lies one question: \nWhat would you do to protect your home?

SUMMARY:From the Lips to the Moon: NOISE COMPLAINT
DESCRIPTION:From the Lips to the Moon returns to Cafe OTO for an electrifying long-form improvisation of music and words led by live-electronic music wizard Pouya Ehsaei and voice-shifting performer-writer Tara Fatehi. \nEach From the Lips to the Moon show features a fresh lineup of guest musicians and poets\, creating an intimate yet expansive space of playfulness and transformation. For this Cafe OTO edition Pouya and Tara are joined by the spellbinding percussionist Mauritzio Ravalico\, poet and national slam winner Maureen Onwunali and more TBA. \nThis event marks the launch of a new poetry publication featuring writings by Tim Etchells\, Nisha Ramayya\, Tara Fatehi\, Belinda Zhawi\, Maureen Onwunali\, and more. \nWeaving together live electronics\, unearthly melodies\, noise\, twisted beats\, performative poetry\, heavy subs\, and non-stories told in goosebumps and half-familiar languages\, the night invites audiences into a space where dark fantasy\, experimentation\, and unexpected encounters unfold. Since 2022\, From the Lips to the Moon has become a driving force in London’s experimental performance scene\, with past shows at Southbank Centre\, V&A Museum\, Cafe OTO\, 180 Studios\, Sophiensaele\, Teatro Lucido\, NTS and Soho Radio. www.lipstomoon.com \n‘Futuristic\, colourfully surreal and fantastical—like looking through a kaleidoscope.’ Worms

SUMMARY:Utoya - UK Premiere
DESCRIPTION:July 2011. On the Norwegian island of Utoya\, a far-right terrorist has just massacred sixty-nine innocent students attending a socialist Summer Camp. \nGunnar and Malin have sent their daughter to the island and desperately seek contact. On the farm next door to the perpetrators\, Petter and Inga realise their suspicions about him are well founded. At Central Command\, Alf and Unni must decide on the best course of action in response to the attack. \nA searing reflection on the domestic effects of societal trauma\, Utoya offers a timely reminder of the threat of far-right extremism\, inviting us to consider how tragedy can both bind people together and pull them further apart. This production is a UK Premiere from leading Italian writer Edoardo Erba.

SUMMARY:After Sex
DESCRIPTION:They’re on the same page. It’s just sex. It doesn’t have to be complicated. \nAnyway\, it wouldn’t work. He hates kissing in the morning. She killed her guinea pigs. He doesn’t speak to his dad. \nThey’re different people. \nIt’s just sex. \n“I’m just worried because I think what I’m being turned on by is the fact that you’re imagining a stable future with me\, whereas what you’re being turned on by is the potential potency of your own sperm.” \nA lyrical\, charged\, sharply observed and genuinely erotic two-hander\, After Sex follows the trajectory of a couple\, told almost entirely through post-coital scenes. It’s about how the sex we have can change us: a love-song to connection and to people’s capacity for changing each other’s lives.

SUMMARY:Poet Peasant: an exhibition by SJ Fowler
DESCRIPTION:An exhibition of poetry as curios\, discovered text and found literary sculptures drawn from previously unseen works\, selected asemic writing and the poetic props of performances across the globe. Drawing from fifteen years of rabid activity\, this exhibition evidences the breadth of visual and conceptual poetry from one of the definitive experimentalists of the British 21st-century literary scene. \n\nOn the site of the former Notting Hill Books\, a formative space for many\, including Fowler\, this exhibition emphasises the potential of the marginal\, peculiar\, detritus-as-poetry mode so removed from the medium’s stereotypical obsession with neatness\, craft\, and clarity. From bear suits to homemade skeletons\, handwritten novels to concrete poems\, Poet Peasant represents the core aesthetic concerns of SJ Fowler – playful\, eclectic and anti-singular\, it is a deliberate mess of fun and weird visual literature that stretches the bounds of what poetry is. \nwww.stevenjfowler.com/poetpeasant \nSJ Fowler is a writer\, poet and performer who lives in London. His work has been commissioned by The National Gallery\, Tate Modern\, BBC Radio 3\, Somerset House\, Tate Britain\, Southbank Centre and he was part of the first Hub residency at Wellcome Collection. His visual poetry has been exhibited at the V&A\, Hayward Gallery\, Jerwood Space\, Mile End Art Pavilion\, Kielder Forest\, Tate St Ives and Palais de Tokyo. He has published over 50 works\, the subject of the Small Publishers Fair 2022 feature exhibition and given over 400 performances at venues around the world. He lecturer at Kingston University and is the director of the European Poetry Festival. Poet Peasant … is his 8th solo exhibition. \nOpening hours:\nThe gallery will be opened to the public 12 noon to 5pm every Wednesday to Saturday \nAccompanying events:\nJuly 19th\, July 24th July 26th\, July 31st\, August 2nd 7pm – 9pm.

SUMMARY:Eva Quartet - Bulgarian Voices
DESCRIPTION:Experience the sublime voices of Eva Quartet in the atmospheric St Cyprian’s Church near Baker Street underground. \n“Music of intensity\, beauty\, high skill\, and international stature.” (Rootsworld) \nEva Quartet are Gergana Dimitrova\, Sofia Kovacheva\, Evelina Hristova and Daniela Stoitchkova\, four solo singers from the world-famous women’s folk choir “Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares”. \nThey present a programme of heart-warming and breath-taking folk and sacred music from Bulgaria’s rich vocal traditions\, both ancient and rooted but also with their own modern styling and featuring contemporary compositions. With their deeply intuitive close harmony\, virtuosic voice control and unique vocal techniques\, the four singers offer a moment out of time in which listeners are invited into a sometimes intimate\, sometimes raucous\, sound world. \nEva Quartet was formed in 1995 by the same four women\, who were singing together in the Orthodox Church. Celebrating their 30th anniversary this year\, it is no surprise that Eva Quartet’s four voices seem to blend as one instrument. \n“This is meticulously made music\, as is that of a classical vocal ensemble\, but the voices yearn\, surge\, linger\, interlock\, drone and counterpoint\, and on the up-tempo pieces fizz and chatter\, in ways that no Western-classical ensembles\, even the progressive ones\, match in style or sound.” Rootsworld  \nThe concert starts at 7.30pm. Doors open 7pm. Seating is unreserved. There will be an interval and it finishes around 9.15pm\nDrinks will be available to buy before the concert and during the interval. \n£25 General seating\n£35 Front 2 rows \nSt Cyprian’s Clarence Gate\, Glentworth Street NW1 6AX is 5 minutes’ walk from Baker Street station. \nHire London Choirs

SUMMARY:"Adam"\, Resolution Festival 2025
DESCRIPTION:Adam is a self-choreographed solo by Harry Theadora Foster\, being performed as part of a triple bill at Resolution Festival.  \nA body learns he’s alive. A child learns his favourite dance. An adult learns who he might have been.  \nA story of discovery culminates in a conversation between these beings across one body.   \nWhat would they tell each other if given the chance? \nIn a spellbinding journey of memory\, trickery and identity\, Harry Theadora Foster connects characters to their own past\, present and future selves. Adam is a testament to the fact that the act of ‘remembering’ is itself an act of imagination- and a tool to help us reimagine who we are now.  \nHarry Theadora Foster (he/him) is a dance artist based in London. Drawing from autobiographical experiences and his practice as a poet\, storytelling is central to his work\, focused on capturing and exploring human experiences.  \nHe has been a dancer with Akram Khan Company since 2022. A graduate of Rambert School\, he has also worked with companies such as Casson and Friends\, Richard Chappell Dance\, James Cousins Company\, and Richard Alston. His work has been staged in the UK at Lilian Bayliss Theatre Sadlers Wells\, Linbury Theatre Royal Opera House\, Anya Linden Studio Theatre\, The Playground Theatre\, and The Point\, Eastleigh.
