SUMMARY:City & Country helps homebuyers make a move at The 1840\, St George's Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Award-winning heritage developer City & Country is hosting a prospective buyers’ mortgage clinic at The 1840\, St George’s Gardens development in South West London on Saturday\, 28th January\, from 10am – 5 pm\, in partnership with the mortgage broker\, The Mortgage Brain. \n\n\n\nRecent research found that potential homebuyers see mortgage affordability as the biggest barrier to buying a property[1]. This helpful event will offer hopeful buyers the opportunity to speak to expert mortgage advisors for advice and support about purchasing a home in 2023. Also on hand will be City & Country’s sales advisors to provide information about the latest development phase. \n\n\n\nJennifer Rhodes-Finch\, Head of Marketing at City & Country\, commented: “We appreciate that buying a home is one of the biggest investments anyone is likely to make\, and therefore we want to offer potential buyers as much support and advice as possible. They must understand the current market situation and what is available to them\, such as the reduction in stamp duty\, with no stamp duty required from first-time buyers purchasing property under £425\,000\, and government schemes available to buyers of new build properties\, including Deposit Unlock\, which only requires a 5% deposit. Many may be surprised to hear what is available to them and the potential ability to buy is better than they may presume. We want to encourage anyone interested to come to find out more!” \n\n\n\nMichelle Beck\, New Build Business Development Manager at The Mortgage Brain\, added: “2023 has been off to a flying start with high enquiry levels from buyers firmly closing the door on the doom and gloom of last year. It is only a few weeks into the new year. However\, we continue to see many lenders still reducing interest rates for the customer\, which\, added to the additional benefits of buying a new build\, such as lower utility bills\, is encouraging. With thousands of products available\, buyers must talk to us – new build specialists. \n\n\n\n“We are excited to partner with City & Country to provide advice and guidance on financial planning and mortgages. We welcome attendees to book a dedicated mortgage appointment with one of our fully qualified Mortgage Advisors or to simply pop in and chat.” \n\n\n\nThe multi-award winning The 1840\, St George’s Gardens – a grade II listed building and former hospital – boasts a prime location between Tooting\, Balham\, Earlsfield and Wandsworth Common.  Surrounded by over eight acres of private landscaped gardens\, this development also enjoys great connections to the city.  Both underground and overground stations are within easy reach\, with Tooting Bec Underground Station just a 12-minute walk away.[2] Beautifully restored to its former glory\, this heritage conversion offers superior specifications and stylish living spaces. Combining period grandeur with contemporary style\, the development boasts high ceilings\, white stone kitchen worktops\, and a beautiful interior colour palette. \n\n\n\nExternally\, residents can enjoy private walled gardens and outdoor terraces in some apartments\, and others can enjoy attractive views across the carefully landscaped gardens. Secure parking with electric car charging is available on selected plots for an additional charge\, offering convenient living to those living at 1840\, St George’s Gardens. An on-site concierge service compliments the development itself. It is perfectly located for residents to enjoy the diverse choice of cafes\, bars\, restaurants\, and shops in the local area – all within walking distance. \n\n\n\nThe latest phase\, ‘The Kitchen Yard’\, has recently been released and offers one and two-bedroom individually designed conversion apartments\, duplexes\, and terraced houses\, many with meticulously restored original features and positioned around an intimate courtyard. Internally\, many of these attractive\, Grade II\, mews-style properties boast original windows\, roof lanterns and cast-iron columns – meaning period charm perfectly combines with contemporary living. \n\n\n\nPrices start at £470\,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. There is no other event that brings so many major housing providers\, plus financial advisors and solicitors\, together under one roof to provide one-on-one advice to attendees. The exhibition is always hugely popular\, with over 3\,500 guests through the door at our spring show in April 2022. \n\n\n\nWith the applications for Help to Buy closing at the end of October\, buyers in London will be looking to other alternative home ownership schemes such as Shared Ownership more than ever. It has never been more important to provide potential purchasers with information about the buying options available – particularly as we approach a winter of rising living costs when budgets will only be getting tighter.” \n\n\n\nPartnering with some of the sector’s leading housing providers and sales agents\, sponsors of the event include L&Q\, Latimer by Clarion Housing Group\, Peabody\, SO Resi by Metropolitan Thames Valley\, Square Roots\, Southern Home Ownership\, Optivo\, Catalyst New Homes\, Notting Hill Genesis\, FABRICA by A2Dominion and SiteSales Property Group. All exhibitors will have their own stand\, making it easy for hopeful buyers to get their questions answered directly by sales teams. \n\n\n\nTo plan your day at the London Home Show and register for your free ticket\, visit www.sharetobuy.com/homeshow \n\n\n\n@LDNHomeShow \n\n\n\nENDS \n\n\n\nAbout Share to Buy \n\n\n\nShare to Buy is the leading online portal for Shared Ownership properties. Established in 2004 as the UK’s first specialist online mortgage broker for affordable homeownership products\, the site has since developed into a one-stop shop for first-time buyers\, offering the country’s largest listing of Shared Ownership homes for sale. \n\n\n\nOver 500\,000 first-time buyers have registered with Share to Buy\, with thousands of Shared Ownership and Help to Buy properties currently listed from the UK’s largest housing providers\, including Peabody\, Hyde New Homes\, L&Q and Metropolitan Thames Valley. \n\n\n\nwww.sharetobuy.com

SUMMARY:Turning Earth Haringey Christmas Ceramics Market
DESCRIPTION:Christmas Ceramics Market\nOn 18/19 December we will hold the inaugural Christmas Ceramics Market at the new Turning Earth ceramics centre in Haringey. The new studio will bring the Turning Earth model established in Hoxton and Leyton to North London for the very first time\, offering a gym-like monthly membership arrangement for people who want to take up ceramics as a serious hobby\, as well as introductory classes for beginners.\nDuring the celebratory Christmas market weekend\, 70 ceramicists from Turning Earth’s studios will sell their work\, and there will be wheel-throwing and hand-building demos throughout – with the option for visitors to have a go too.\nMakers will share their reflections on how the disruption of the pandemic has impacted their work and celebrate some of the positive things it has brought with it. The new Turning Earth centre was itself created in a rising tide of craft participation and in response to the increasing desire for people to live and stay local and invest in the communities on their doorsteps.\nA stall selling donated work will raise money for local charities. There’ll also be delicious Vietnamese Street food from Hanoi Ca Phe\, mulled wine and mince pies\, klezmer from The Turbans and carols from Davey Green.\nCome and buy last-minute Christmas presents\, and prepare to be inspired – who knows\, you may want to come back and get your hands in clay yourself.

And yet\, the nation isn’t making the most of their clever gadgets\, with more than two thirds of people admitting they may not use their devices to their full potential. \nThere are a wealth of ways to use a smart speaker in the home\, from being walked through a recipe step-by-step\, to calling an old friend. \nTo showcase just some of their helpful uses\, on Friday 15 November\, leading tech retailer Argos\, is opening up ‘Britain’s Smartest Boat\,’ featuring Google Nest products\, to the public for one day only. The immersive experience will see curious customers hop on board the tech-savvy vessel and enjoy a humorous lesson in how to connect their home. \nThe nautical novices will be taken through a tale full of twists and turns with eccentric characters\, playing the role of prospective flatmates aboard the vessel. \nWhile smart speaker aficionados say the most useful functions of their smart home devices are playing music (52 per cent)\, finding the weather forecast (44 per cent) and telling the time (35 per cent)\, this unique event will highlight the lesser known uses of the mini-but-mighty gadgets\, leaving guests with a myriad of suggestions they can use next time they fire up the Assistant in their Google Nest Mini\, for example. \nTo help land lovers raise the IQ of their own home\, every participant will receive their own Google Nest Mini to take away so they can create an interactive home of their own. \nThe brainiac boat is open to one and all\, but those who want to find their sea legs must register online to secure their spot. Places are limited \nFor those wanting to spend some more time on ‘Britain’s Smartest Boat’\, Argos is offering five lucky people the chance to win an overnight stay on the boat and enjoy a delicious dinner\, courtesy of a personal chef. \nAll hopeful entrants need to do is enter a prize draw by posting on Twitter\, Facebook or Instagram the smart home function they would most like to have in the future with the hashtag #ArgosGoogle \nT&Cs apply.
