From Alice in Wonderland’s ‘Eat Me’ cookies to the BFG’s Frobscottle among the many unique culinary creations\, sweet treats\, savoury snacks and delicious drinks to delight everyone. \nAs well as feeding your imagination\, famous authors including Nicholas Allen and Konnie Huq will read from their best-loved works on one of Camden’s iconic barges in Hawley Wharf to inspire young bookworms. These events are the perfect day out for any young book fan. The readings will be free of charge\, but you will have to book tickets in advance via the Eventbrite page linked below. \nFrom Home to London are also joining in the festivities to create Alice in Wonderland inspired pancakes and hosting a ‘Mad Hatter Tea Party’ brunch. In addition\, to customisable fashion space\, Koko Art will be opening their doors to create World Book Day inspired customised hats\, t-shirts\, shoes and more. These events will be ticketed and will have to be paid for in advance. DESCRIPTION:This innovative new concept sees Play Dead London incorporate elements of the much-loved Choose Your Own Adventure format to create a uniquely compelling hybrid theatre experience.  Part Knightmare\, part Treasure Hunt\, Play Dead London’s brilliant new “Choose Your Own DEADventure” premise takes the online\, immersive format that they have become renowned for and adds a compelling\, new real-life element to the production.  \nAlthough the audience will experience this production entirely over zoom\, some cast with being active in real life\, physical location and acting under direction from the audience. \nAs with all previous Play Dead London productions\, there will be opportunities for the audience to interrogate the suspects via virtual interview rooms\, but this time the storyline will be entirely dependent on several polls taking place over the course of the production. No two productions of ‘The Case of the Clown in the Woods’ will be the same\, as the audiences choose their own path through the mystery. The audience will literally direct the cast.

DESCRIPTION:BucketRace is a Scavenger Race around London\, where teams compete against one another by completing tasks on the list\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nInstructions \n• 1st place prize: A 3 course meal for 2\, accompanied by a bottle of the house wine at Paternoster Chop House (First Dates Restaurant). \nBucketRace is a Scavenger Race around London\, where teams compete against one another by completing tasks on the list (or BucketList) provided. BucketRaces goal is for participants to discover new places\, activities and hidden gems within London\, while meeting like-minded people and competing in a fun and friendly environment. \nYou can enter either as an individual and we will allocate you a team on the day\, or as your own team. \nRules \nTeams can be no larger than 2 people \nTeams must stick together at all times \nEach photo should include the whole team; however\, one member can be excluded if they’re taking the photo/video \nTasks are divided into Miscellaneous and Location categories \nYou can only choose one set of location tasks \nLocation tasks are mutually exclusive. You cannot score tasks within multiple locations \nTasks must adhere to the submission criteria to be counted \nAny teams caught cheating will be disqualified \nTeams with the most points at the end of BucketRace wins. \n\n\nWhat you need \nAll you need is a well-charged smart phone (more than one per team is advised) and a Twitter account. BucketRace will provide the rest. \n\n\n\n\n \n  \n\n\nScoring \nEach task carries a specific amount of points based on its difficulty\, location and BucketRace classification (e.g. location\, miscellaneous or bonus). The location tasks score the least; however completing enough of them unlocks a hefty bonus. Miscellaneous tasks score more points\, but they don’t offer any bonus incentive. So choose wisely! \nIt’s also worth noting that most of the BucketRace location tasks have been written in order of the quickest route. The exceptions are the final few tasks within each section\, which have been chosen to fit the culture of each area and can be performed anywhere within that location. BucketRace lasts for 4 hours. Any teams who arrive to the finish late\, will forfeit a cumulative 50 points every 10 minutes. \nTasks \nThere are Location tasks specific to regions of London such as: Find a taxi serving coffee in Shoreditch\, find the giant Dragon in Camden and build a human pyramid in Hyde Park. There are general London based tasks such as: arrive at Big Ben when the clock strikes 14:00\, hail a black cab and start a party on an open top bus. And there are miscellaneous tasks such as: wear a toothpaste moustache\, wear a toilet seat around your neck\, get a high score on a video game \nTask Submission \nTasks are submitted through the wonderful world of social media\, using photos and/or videos as evidence. More specifically we calculate real time scores using Twitters #Hashtag function. That way teams can use their own mobile phones and we can give you hourly updates on how each team is performing. Twitter is free to download and use. If you don’t already have a twitter account\, please ask one of our staff to help you create one before BucketRace begins. \n• Each tweet must contain the following: Name of task\, points value\, #BucketRace\, #TeamName\, @BucketRace and a photo/video of the task. \nExample : Stand in the corner of an elevator facing the wrong way while people enter\, 50 pts\, @BucketRace\, #TeamName #BucketRace. \nOn The Day \n​The Meet \n​We meet at – The Crown\, 64 Brewer St\, Soho\, London W1F 9TP. The location is easily accessible by tube or bus. The nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus. Once there\, individual sign ups will be collated into teams\, there will be a brief introduction and teams will receive their lists. Within in the 4 hour time period\, teams must choose which region of London they’ll be completing tasks in\, and complete the tasks they believe will amount to the most points. When the clock strikes 12:30 the competition will start and you’ll be racing off to best your opponents whilst discovering the hidden gems of London. \nWe can also provide customised lists\, for specific events like birthdays and stag do’s. Therefore\, all lost lost zombies as well as new zombies shall gather to shamble through Central London\, dressed up in your zombie finest\, to meet at the secret location. Think of it like one last “hurrah!” before hammering  the final nails into the coffins and snuggle down for a long\, long sleep. \nThis year World Zombie day hopes to raise charity for prevention of hunger and homelessness. The money goes towards charities that work on alleviating these issues. The charity of choice this year is City Harvest – giving food another life. City Harvest has a simple mission: Rapidly rescue surplus food and use it to feed those who need it most. Be part of the team making London first to be a zero-waste city. \nRegister HERE to attend World Zombie Day: London. We will contact you with information about how you can prepare for the day\, help fundraise\, and most importantly: where to go on the day! \n2017 video: \n \nThe event is free\, but please show your support by adding on a donation when you register (suggested amount: £5). This will help cover minimal admin cost and the rest will go towards the charity. The walk is a family-friendly event. Under 18’s requires parental supervision. \nYou can only register for two spaces\, but it’s free…. so if your friends want to go\, just send them here. If anyone is freaking out\, turn and shamble in the opposite direction. Avoid confrontations! \n4. If your walk is anywhere near streets or roadways\, stay on the pavement unless crossing the street. When crossing\, it’s OK to “break character” and cross quickly. Think fast “New Dawn of the Dead” zombies verses the slower “Old Dawn of the Dead” zombies when crossing the street. Blocking traffic is a crime and anyone doing so could be arrested. \n5. STRICTLY NO ILLEGAL DRUGS are permitted and no alcohol for under 18’s. Police will be called if this rule is broken. \n6. No littering\, destruction of property\, or any other illegal activity. This includes smearing fake blood\, banging on windows\, etc. The organisers will not be held responsible for any damaged property. Pretend the location of the walk is your own neighbourhood and show the utmost respect. This event is a tradition\, so we don’t want to ruin it. Remember\, the press will be watching (along with the police) and this event could get world-wide news coverage. Let’s put on a good show. \n7. Keep in mind you might be asked for a picture ID at the pubs and your zombie face might not match your picture ID. If you are refused entry\, please understand the doorman is only doing his job. \n8. DESCRIPTION:HTC is celebrating the launch of the VIVE Cosmos\, its latest premium PC-based Virtual Reality (VR) system\, and has teamed up with BBC Studios to offer Doctor Who fans the chance to embark on an adventure with the Doctor by stepping into the legendary TARDIS (spoiler: it’s bigger on the inside) \nOn Friday 27th and Saturday 28th September\, visitors to the Protein Studios experience in Hackney will be fully immersed in the sci-fi world of Doctor Who through the riveting new VR experience ‘Doctor Who: The Edge of Time’. \nAttendees will be amongst the first to try ‘Doctor Who: The Edge of Time’ \, produced by Maze Theory for BBC Studios\, and have the chance to take up the role of the Doctor’s assistant. After stepping into the TARDIS\, players will interact with the Doctor themselves and will try to pilot the spacecraft – which is temperamental at the best of times – before embarking on an epic adventure to solve the mystery behind the ‘Reality Virus’. \nDuring the event\, visitors will use HTC’s newly released VR headset\, the VIVE Cosmos\, which is built to be the highest performance and most versatile headset on the market. \nEach 30 minute slot will include a 15 minute experience.
