But the torta’s tastiness doesn’t stop there. It’s served with a side of rich\, aromatic birria broth for dipping – the ultimate umami upgrade. The flavoursome fillings are sandwiched between two slices of freshly-baked bread\, from a recipe crafted especially for Wahaca by The Dusty Knuckle.  \nTo celebrate the launch\, Wahaca’s co-founder\, Thomasina Miers\, will be joining The Dusty Knuckle team to give away 100 Birria Tortas for free outside Wahaca Southbank (Lower level\, Queen Elizabeth Hall\, London SE1 8XX) from 12 pm until 2 pm on Tuesday\, 16th September. Once they’re gone\, they’re gone – but anyone who can’t make it needn’t miss out as the torta officially joins the menu at all Wahaca restaurants from the following day.

Having become a bit of a tourist attraction\, social media has made it a hot spot amongst the pickled egg eating enthusiasts visiting London. Currently the top 12 scores are all two seconds or less\, it can be a bit intimidating for anyone wanting to see their name on the board. What makes Egg Day 2025 EGGstra special is now the board gets wiped clean\, a total reset. All that plus for one day only the board extends to Top 25. Everyone has the chance to be a recognised pickled egg eating hero. \nThe first annual Egg Day was on Good Friday 2024 and proved such a popular event\, smashing all previous bar sales and is expected to do so again with hundreds anticipated to attend including the return of 2024’s champions to defend their titles.

DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Ceramics Markets\, a showcase with over 200 different makers over four days. We’ll be in Leyton studio on November 23rd and 24th and in Highgate studio on December 7th and 8th. \nWhether you’re a returning pottery lover or a curious newcomer\, the markets offer something for everyone: browse the one-of-a-kind pieces\, meet the makers behind the masterpieces\, and discover why this mindful craft is so popular in the city.  \nThere will be street food\, from freshly baked sourdough pizza to BBQ delicacies and hot dogs. We’ll have festive drinks to warm you up in cold weather\, from local craft beer to mulled wine\, barista coffees\, or soft drinks if you prefer to keep it chilled. Last but not least\, there will be live music to add an extra dose of festive cheer to the atmosphere.   \nThere will be live wheel-throwing demos on all four market days\, so you can get up close and see lumps of clay transform into beautiful pottery. For anyone who would like to get hands-on with clay\, there will be drop-in workshops at the Leyton market on November 23rd and 24th.  \nDuring the Leyton Market\, our neighbours will also open their doors for the Argall Ave Open Studios\, which will feature fine woodwork businesses\, a bamboo bicycle maker\, and food and drinks from the local Pavilion Bakery and Ha Noi Cafe. \nOn Sunday\, November 24th\, the makers of the East End Trades Guild will also join us to add handcrafted goods other than ceramics.  \nEach year\, Turning Earth makers donate special pieces and seconds to raise money for organisations that reflect Turning Earth’s vision of building a community with open arms. This year\, we’re supporting the potters and craftspeople affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast US through the charity CERF+.
