This summer the retailer has also launched a new Ultimate Extra Special Range\, created using the highest quality meats and designed so they are large enough to cater for the whole family. \n\n\n\nAs well as the amazing dishes listed above\, products also include\, the Ultimate Extra Special Chicken Shawarma packed full of flavour\, marinated in a shawarma spice blend of six spices for only £8.50\, Ultimate Extra Special Yorkshire Bread Pork Chop £3 and a foot long Ultimate Extra Special Lamb Shish Kebab with a Chilli & Garlic Sauce for £8. \n\n\n\nGuests will have the chance to experience some salt sprinkling flair on their steak dinner\, done the Asda price way\, as well as sample the exclusive Steak Bay menu\, open for one night only. However\, those who don’t manage to snag a ticket to the swankiest steak joint in town will have the chance to create their own Bay-utiful Chef’s Table at home this summer as Asda’s Ultimate Extra Special range is on sale in stores and across the country and online now. \n\n\n\nWHERE: \n\n\n\nIron Bloom \n\n\n\n46 Great Eastern Street \n\n\n\nLondon \n\n\n\nEC2A 3EP \n\n\n\nWHEN: \n\n\n\nASDA’s Steak Bay restaurant is open for dinner on Thursday 9th June. \n\n\n\nENTRY: \n\n\n\n50 lucky diners will have the chance to dine at London’s cheapest steak house. DESCRIPTION:GREY GOOSE® LAUNCHES ‘DUET’ WITH RINA SAWAYAMA AND LUKE SELBY: A MODERN MARTINI COCKTAIL BAR EXPERIENCE THAT CELEBRATES THE MAGIC OF COMBINING TWO INGREDIENTS TO CREATE SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY \nGREY GOOSE brings together two of Britain’s most dynamic and exciting new talents to create an extraordinary cocktail experience. In the same way that GREY GOOSE Vodka combines just two essential ingredients —water and wheat— and the martini cocktail combines just vodka and vermouth. Leading talents Rina Sawayama and Luke Selby have come together to launch GREY GOOSE ‘Duet’\, a brand new martini cocktail bar and at-home cocktail kit. \nThe exclusive pop-up\, open to the public on 26th and 27th November and 3rd and 4th December\, offers a taste of Sawayama and Selby’s cultural nous. Combining drinks\, food and entertainment curated by the duo\, ‘Duet’ will feature a selection of delicious dishes by Evelyn’s Table head chef Selby\, paired with playful twists on the classic martini cocktail. \nTicketholders will enjoy courses that blend the French heritage of GREY GOOSE with influences from Rina’s Japanese heritage and the finest ingredients from Luke’s award-winning restaurant in London. The menu includes Ikejime Trout\, Shorthorn Jacob’s Ladder Beef\, Mushroom Gyoza and Pear Almondine\, to be enjoyed alongside new GREY GOOSE cocktails\, which incorporate a unique mix of ingredients— from tomato sake to sage-infused MARTINI Bianco and GREY GOOSE La Poire martini cocktail mists. \nThe evening will also include an exclusive line-up of entertainment curated by BRIT-nominated and critically acclaimed British star\, Sawayama\, with a mix of Congolese Rumba\, electronic and R& B hits from breakthrough musical talent Sans Soucis – handpicked by Rina to perform at the ‘Duet’ event series. \nTickets are £50 and will be available to purchase via Eventbrite. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to The Drinks Trust to provide care and assistance to the drinks industry workforce.

SUMMARY:Feast of the Century
DESCRIPTION:CHAMPAGNE COCKTAILS\, TURKEY LEG MEAT PIES AND PROSECCO FOR PUDDING: 100 YEARS OF CHRISTMAS IN ONE TIME-HOPPING FESTIVE TASTING MENU AT ‘TESCO FEAST OF THE CENTURY’ \nOn 4 and 5 December\, Tesco will host a Christmas dinner like no other\, taking guests on an immersive culinary journey through the past 100 years of festive celebrations. \nStarting in 1919\, the year Tesco founder\, Jack Cohen\, set up his Hackney market stall\, diners will travel through time\, getting a taste of Christmases past\, present and future through dishes all made using the festive food selection available at Tesco this Christmas. Diners will be served up a century’s worth of Christmas food and drink in one decadent\, decade-hopping menu – through the Art Deco era\, the swinging sixties\, to the present day and beyond. \nHeld in partnership with renowned ‘dining adventurers’\, Flavourology\, diners will enjoy an 11-course tasting menu that celebrates key moments in time and iconic Christmas dishes of past decades. The feasting menu was conceptualised by food historian\, Tasha Marks\, and reimagined for present day diners by Tesco and Flavourology chefs. \nGuests will enter the venue\, a former 1900s police station in Covent Garden\, and receive a welcome drink inspired by the era to sip on as they journey back in time at the ‘Tesco Feast of the Century.’ Once seated\, diners will then travel through each decade – just like Joel\, the delivery driver in this year’s Tesco Christmas advert – via a heady mix of swirling projections\, music and light\, guided by time-travelling hosts. Each new course will signify the passing of time\, and as each one is served\, the environment the diners are in will change\, giving guests a truly immersive experience. \nThe first 10 courses will reimagine what people of each decade from the past 100 years would have enjoyed around the Christmas dinner table; from a 1930s festive ham terrine\, to a 70s prawn cocktail with a modern twist and an update on the 80s drunken cheese fondue. \nThe final course\, the 11th\, will celebrate the dish of Christmas future. Invented by – and informed by the insights of – the Tesco Product Development Chefs. This dish also takes inspiration from Marks’ analysis of trends over the past 100 years\, to predict what Christmas dinners of the future could look like. \nFittingly\, the feast costs £19.19 – taking inspiration from the year Tesco was founded – and all proceeds will go to charity. \nTasha Marks\, food historian\, said: “Food has always been central to our Christmas celebrations\, so it was fascinating to take a deep dive into the trends that have influenced our festive feasts over the past 100 years. From beef\, to turkey\, Port to Prosecco – some of our tastes may have changed\, but decadence\, delicious food and a touch of luxury have always been at the heart of our Christmas menus. Based on this fact alone\, you can be sure that the Tesco Feast of the Century will deliver a festive night to remember!” \nMartyn Lee\, Executive Chef\, Product Development\, for Tesco said: “Tesco has been delivering Christmas for 100 years\, so we felt that putting on a feast of this kind was a fitting way to celebrate and the perfect way to showcase our fantastic festive foods this year. We follow trends and changing tastes closely to ensure we deliver the perfect Christmas for all the nation and we’ve worked hard with Tasha and Flavourology to craft a truly unforgettable experience. The Tesco Feast of the Century will be a celebration of festive food and its important role in the nation’s celebrations at Christmastime.” \nThe ‘Tesco Feast of the Century’ will take place on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 December between 6.30pm and 11pm\, at 5 Great Newport St\, Covent Garden\, London WC2H 7JB. \nTickets are available via Design My Night https://www.designmynight.com/london/whats-on/christmas-themed/tesco-feast-of-the-century \nTerms and conditions \nWe want you to have a great time at the event\, so please make sure you (and your guests) are aware that: \nWe cannot guarantee entry for late arrivals\, arrive at 6.30pm. Remember to bring your ticket with you (electronic or paper versions are fine). The tickets are non-exchangeable and have no monetary value. Entry: over 18s only (due to alcohol being served). We reserve the right to check ID on the door. The event can provide vegetarian\, vegan and gluten-free dishes\, if required. SUMMARY:Chinese Cuisine: Does cultural authenticity matter?
DESCRIPTION:Consumers are increasingly seeking food experiences that are ‘culturally authentic’\, yet defining authenticity is fraught with difficulty.\nWhat constitutes cultural authenticity with respect to Chinese cuisine? Do accepted notions of authenticity change over time in response to international influence and changing tastes? Who should we accept as credible ambassadors of authentic Chinese Culinary Culture?\nIn this session panellists will explore cultural authenticity with respect to Chinese cuisine. The event comes at a time when supposed ‘cultural appropriation’ of national cuisines and culinary traditions is receiving national attention. \nThis event is sponsored by Lee Kum Kee and organised in partnership with The Oxford Cultural Collective. We thank Paul Bloomfield and the China Institute for their support. \nFuchsia Dunlop is an award-winning cook and food writer specializing in Chinese cuisine. She is the author of five books about Chinese food and gastronomy\, her latest being Shark’s Fin and Sichuan Pepper: A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating in China. Fuchsia grew up in Oxford and studied at Cambridge University\, Sichuan University and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. Her writing has appeared in publications including the Financial Times\, the New Yorker\, Lucky Peach\, Gourmet and Saveur and she makes regular appearances as a Chinese food expert on radio and TV. \n \nMukta Das lived and studied in China and across East Asia before returning to graduate school to research Chinese culinary culture. Through her doctorate at SOAS\, London\, she explored the impact of Silk Road trade on the evolution of Chinese food. She also examines the legacy of trade and the movement of people on what are regarded as authentically ‘Chinese’ or ‘foreign’ foods in the present day. Mukta publishes in food-related journals and works closely with Andrew Wong on recipe and menu construction. \nJeremy Chan is the UK-born\, American-educated\, Chinese-Canadian chef who co-owns Ikoyi\, a Michelin-starred\, West African inspired restaurant in central London. Initially pursuing a career in finance\, he was soon eager to work in a more creative\, practical environment. He trained in renowned restaurants including Noma\, Hibiscus and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal\, before a chance meeting with Nigerian board friend Iré Hassan-Odukakale\, sparked an interest in West African ingredients. Chan’s distinctive style is unrestrained by geographic borders. \n  \n \n  \nAndrew Wong was immersed in his family’s restaurants since childhood. Despite studying Chemistry at Oxford and Anthropology at LSE Andrew was tempted back into the family business. After training as a chef he was technically accomplished\, but dissatisfied with his knowledge of true Chinese cuisine\, so he set out on a working tour of China which included a period studying at the Sichuan Culinary Institute. Bursting with inspiration from his travels and fascinated by how food in China differed so dramatically according to region and culture\, Andrew opened A. Wong in 2012 with his wife Nathalie. Andrew opened his second restaurant\, Kym’s\, at Bloomberg Arcade in 2018.
