Teams battle it out against each other to win the acclaimed ‘Christmas Pudding Trophy’ and raise money for Cancer Research UK. Each team has to negotiate a challenging relay race encountering demanding obstacles all whilst wearing fancy dress AND carefully balancing a Christmas pudding on a tray! – (Not an easy task….!) \nHow it Works \n\nGather a Team of 6\, enter the race through the website.\nYou will receive your Pudding Pack giving full details of the Race\, together with a link to Just Giving site so you can set up your team page and start fund raising.\nYour team will take part in a relay obstacle Race. Obstacles include inflatables\, a crazy foam slalom\, decorating a Christmas Tree\, completing a jigsaw and many other challenges.\n Each team has to raise a minimum of £600 to help support the vital work of Cancer Research UK. Period instruments are used to underly the unique style of Spanish music resulting from its combination of Christian\, Muslim and Jewish cultures. \nThe feast of Christmas was marked in Renaissance Spain by large processions and long and elaborate pieces of choral music\, sometimes consisting of a single melodic line. rather than the carols and hymns of later periods. \nThe performance will resemble a celebration at court\, with sacred songs to highlight the season as well as the more popular songs of love\, rivalry and mischief common throughout the year. \nThe Lovekyn Consort play instruments of the type originally used for their music. \nMusicians: Patricia Hammond – Voice; William Summers – Flute\, Recorder; Stephen Carpenter – Vihuela\, Guitar \nDoors open at 19:00\, performance 19:30 – 21:30\, ship closes at 22:00. \nIt will be cold aboard the ship during the winter\, please dress warmly.

DESCRIPTION:Watch them swim like Peter Pan on Christmas Day. The Sepentine Swimming Club are going to have a jolly race of 100-yards or 91 metre  right on Christmas Day. \nThe London’s Hyde Park on Christmas morning since 1864 to compete in the Christmas Day Swim. Taking the gold medal on that year was H.Coulter. \nThe name Peter Pan Cup came in 1904\, when J.M. Barrie donated to the race on the same year as his play Peter Pan made its debut on London stage. The iconic story about a young boy that never grew up\, also resembling the race itself. \nThe Serpentine Swimming Club is known to be the oldest swimming club in the UK. Their weekly races never fail to bring in amazing swimmers. \n\n  \n\nThe Race\nThe Peter Pan Cup is only open to members of the Serpentine Swimming Club who have qualified during the season. The icy Serpentine waters are usually below 4C (40F) degrees in the winter\, so swimmers must become acclimatised over a period of time. \nThe race on 25 December usually starts at 9am and takes place on the south bank of the lake\, close to the Serpentine Cafe.
