DESCRIPTION:We are a 7-night celebration of ten moon marking the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The Guardian called us one of ten European most iconic events of 2019. An all encompassing Lunar celebration incorporating art exhibitions\, music performances\, pop science lectures\, moon gardens\, moonlit film screenings\, night night food markets\, street parties and much more.. \nWe’ve announced the first two of our events on Sunday 21st January. They are a half day programme of talks and performances on maverick women and the moon which include a keynote by Margaret Atwood and a panel discussion on whether humans have a right to the moon which will see young people in conversation with space lawyers\, Senior members of the European Space Agency and beyond. We will continue to unveil a new Moon Festival event on each full Moon over the next six months.

DESCRIPTION:The Notting Hill Carnival\, Europe’s biggest street festival is organised by Notting Hill Carnival Limited. \nThe festival is filled with free open-air performances and always joined by a massive parade with live and recorded music\, dancers and performers. \n \n  \n \n  \n  \nCelebrating the Carnival’s establishment and ongoing development; Caribbean \nCulture; artistic talents and creativity; enhancement of community spirit and \ninnovative platforms embracing cultural diversity. \n  \n\n\n \n  \nSchedule  \n\nSunday\, August 25th will start early\, at 6:00 am\, with a traditional carnival opening performed in the Caribbean Islands called J’Ouvert. This event’s main attraction is a parade comprised of revelers donned with mug and brightly colored paints. A Children’s Parade will stroll through the streets during the day and at night as children dance and perform in ornate costumes\, swirling the brilliant-colored clothing. Sunday is the best day for families with young children with smaller crowds of people and plenty of kid-inspired floats in the parade. \n \n\n\nAll day and into the night Sunday you can catch live music on stages in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park and Powis Square and sample incredible foods from vendors while listening to all kinds of Caribbean inspired music from 38 static sound systems. \n\n\nAs always\, the Grand Finale will be on Monday\, August 26th with a culmination of dancing\, street performances\, steel drum music groups\, and the Notting Hill Grand Finale Parade. DESCRIPTION:Sharon Drew has been invited to exhibit her abstract paintings at William Road Gallery. By recreating the sensation of light\, colour\, rhythm and movement Drew finds in landscape\, her work brings a visceral element to the gallery setting. \nThis new series includes large-scale paintings and captures the essence of visits to urban and coastal shorelines. Building up opaque and translucent layers with repetitive and rhythmic gestures she emulates the constant fluctuations of nature. \nIn contrast to the measured and calculated methods of the architects whose practice houses the gallery\, Drew’s works result from a process of only just controlling the paint\, of letting the material lead the way. The desire is to be spontaneous and completely in the moment\, and to share this sense of immersion with the viewer. \n  \nMondays-Fridays

DESCRIPTION:Housed in London’s Saatchi Gallery\, START Art Fair was established in 2014. The fair’s aim is to lead the art world by focusing on international emerging artists and new art scenes. In a few short years the fair has quickly gained a strong critical reputation and is regarded by London’s collector set as the place to discover artists at the beginning of their careers. The fair is a high-profile platform which presents emerging artists in a museum quality environment and attracts in excess of 10\,000 high net worth\, art lovers\, collectors and investors over four days. \nThe sixth edition will open with a VIP Private View on 25 September and to the public from 26 -29 September 2019\, coinciding with the opening of FRIEZE London and kicking off London’s autumn art season with exhibitors’ presentations and curated projects. As part of the Global Eye Programme a teaser exhibition of Korean Eye:2020 will open at the fair ahead of its official launch at the State Hermitage Museum\, St Petersberg in Spring 2020. \n  \n\n\n \nPrevious projects have included Japan based Ultra-Technologist group; TeamLab\, who created a fully immersive installation that attracted more than 3000 visitors on the opening night alone as well as the first ever UK live performance by renowned Chinese artist Liu Bolin.
