SUMMARY:Where Are We Going With This? - The Cockpit
DESCRIPTION:Why would two strangers sitting on a bench at 2am just start talking? \nThis touching debut follows two students and their struggles to open up to one another\, exploring the awkward comedy and profound intimacy that can occur in those one-off conversations with a stranger. They flirt\, fight\, and fumble along a tightrope walk of social norms and personal boundaries\, discussing their outlook on the future\, their mental health struggles\, and\, eventually\, why they ended up on a bench in the middle of the night. \nHe is a quick-witted and jovial pessimist. She is a distrusting\, cynical optimist. Together\, they bring out the ugliest and most tender parts of one another as they learn that often\, the hardest part of opening up to a stranger is enduring the silence that follows. \nThis charming\, One act\, two-hander explores loneliness\, self-discovery\, and that difficult transition into adulthood. \nComing off a successful run at both the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals\, ByGeorge! Productions present their London debut of Where Are We Going With This?. Serving as the companies mission statement\, Where Are We Going With This? focuses on the complexities of interpersonal rleltionships with raw honesty and heartfelt levity. \n‘powerful and timely reminder of how vital it is to communicate and share’\n★★★★\nRichard Stamp – The Wee Review \n‘Brilliantly written\, brilliantly performed\, you will want to know what happens next.’\n★★★★\nThe Derrick Awards \nGet your tickets HERE.

SUMMARY:Hell Hath No Fury
DESCRIPTION:Three women. Two worlds. One ongoing fight for justice.\nGreek mythology mirrors present day courtroom drama\, as this all female company reinvigorates the Furies and reveals their power within the women of today. \nThebes: a landscape of chaos and destruction. Enter The Furies. Women that represent the true meaning of sisterhood and the divine feminine.\nBut it’s not all happy families; the Furies have upset the Gods. One case. Multiple victims.\nCan they untangle this mess? Or will those in power stand in the way of justice?\nAs we shift between the brutality of Thebes and the psychological warfare of courtroom drama\, we question what it means to be woman\, the legacy of those that came before us\, and ultimately… Fury \nFrankie Jean’s debut play as a writer\, a love letter to the power of womanhood and a community for female creatives.\nMay we all find our Fury! \nWritten by Frankie Jean\nDirected by Jessica Whiley \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:XQUENDA
DESCRIPTION:XQUENDA is the story of a young indigenous woman from rural Oaxaca\, Mexico\, and her search for justice after the disappearance and murder of her best friend\, as no one seems to care due to their social and economic conditions. Her protest is through her Poems. Her weapon is her Words. \nThrough letters written while she’s protesting\, we get to know her life\, her traditions and culture\, the magic al realism that is the heart of her town\, and her love and connection with her ancestors and with the nature of the world that surrounds her\, that although beautiful\, not necessarily fair for women. Xquenda\, is a word in ancient Zapotec which means “Soul” referring to the true self of a person\, and what remains on earth after death. \nAccompanied by live music and recorded tracks with traditional mexican rhythms\, the piece is performed in English\, with slang and songs in Spanish\, and Zapotec languages. \nBased on a true story. \n“Political\, tender and absolutely committed to remembering what the world prefers to forget”\, Binge Fringe Magazine\, 4stars.\n“A perfectly structured\, poetically pieced story that transfixes you as an audience member. The writing and form are sublime… Xquenda is mesmerising”\, London Fringe Theatre Review\, 4 stars.

Their previous releases have included numerous singles and four albums on various labels\, including Cherry Red and Radar. Led by vocalist Beth Arzy (Aberdeen/Trembling Blue Stars) & guitarist/vocalist Shaun Charman (The Wedding Present/The Fireworks)\, the band fuse chiming melodies with driving bass and propulsive rhythms; a sound they’ve taken from “schrammelig” (German for rough or raw) to slightly less “schrammelig” from the early singles in 2017\, to their newest album\, “Bowerbirds and Blue Things.” Most recently releasing a BBC6 Riley & Coe session on Precious Recordings of London. \nhttps://jetstreampony.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:Oh Pseudolus! - Cockpit Theatre
DESCRIPTION:This is a modern retelling of the classic Roman Comedy “Pseudolus” by Plautus. In this version\, we find the titular Pseudolus working at the world’s largest Halloumi company\, in modern-day Athens. She is an executive assistant for the CEO’s son\, Calidorous. Calidorous has finally gotten himself the girl of his dreams\, the beautiful Phoenecium. Still\, disaster strikes when the vile pimp Ballio tries to sell her into sex slavery\, attempting to ship her off to some unnamed oil-rich country. Calidorous is too heartbroken to sign Pseudolus’ end-of-year bonus check. It becomes up to her to figure out a way to rescue Phoenecium in order to make him smile. That way\, he can finally sign her hard-earned check. Talk about late-stage capitalism!  \nThis is a laugh-out-loud comedy\, full of hijinks\, tricks\, love\, lies\, and schemes; not to mention a slice of Halloumi or two along the way. It’s just as much of a hilarious romp as it was two thousand years ago! This is “Oh NO’s” way of saying: Leave the kids at home\, and no\, you don’t need to come wearing a toga. \n“Oh Pseudolus!” Features an all-star cast: \n\nCelebrated director (Hurt by Paradise)\, actress (Bunker\, This England)\, and poet (Tomorrow’s Woman) Greta Bellamacina leads as the titular Pseudolus. The show was written with her exclusively in mind\, and you see why when she hits the stage. She is a comedic tour de force who will have you doubled over for the entire show.\nActress Rebecca Hazlewood (The Good Place\, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox) stars as Charinus\, the affable best friend of Calidorus\, bringing her signature energy and charisma to the role. Rebecca lights up the stage as only she can\, making Charinus every bit the lovable friend that Calidorus needs and the audience wants.\n\nAll of this mayhem can only come from the writer-director team (Conor Bifulco and Dalton Scott) behind “Oh Hillary!\,” the only comedy about the Clintons\, at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. This is a hilarious story that remains just as funny today as it was 2000 years ago\, made even funnier with Conor’s modernizations. “Oh Pseudolus!” maintains the soul of the original play while still distinctly being an “Oh No Productions” joint\, highlighting their go-go-go comedic sensibilities. \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:The Writing of Stones
DESCRIPTION:The Writing of Stones is an odyssey to the beginning and the end of human creativity. A cheeky\, dreamy\, brainy blast of high-energy physical theatre performed by humans and stones. \nWelcome to a hijacked meditation\, a psychedelic school trip\, a reverie on the reality-altering nature of attention\, the limits of language\, and humanity’s place in nature. \nInspired by the writings of Roger Caillois\, this show is a train ride into the depths of your subconscious. Expect otherworldly phantoms\, surrealism\, science\, illuminations\, aesthetic philosophy\, The Sistine Chapel\, your worst haircut\, an Impressionist lunch\, and lots and lots of stones. \nThe Writing of Stones is a physical theatre show about the consciousness of stones that asks if art will outlive humanity. \nOn a reckless romp through the history of art\, humans and stones search for a way of being between human and mineral\, subject and object\, movement and stillness\, sacred and profane. \nAnd\, in the end\, we ask: who really will have the last word? \nDirection: Emma Wagstaff and Dominic Weatherby.\nCreation and performance: Elmira Olberholzer\, John Harper\, Emma Wagstaff\, and Dominic Weatherby.\nOriginal devising company: Juliana de Aragão\, John Harper\, Emma Wagstaff\, and Dominic Weatherby. \n‘Mesmeric musings on memory and materiality\, optics and apocalypse.’\nAudience Member \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:Dünyada - London Theatre
DESCRIPTION:This August\, internationally acclaimed actor and director Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu brings his visceral\, high-intensity solo performance Dünyada to Camden Fringe.\nReimagining Will Eno’s celebrated monologue Title and Deed\, the production arrives in London fresh from Istanbul’s underground scene\, offering an evocative exploration of migration\, identity drift\, and the fragile necessity of being witnessed in a digital age. \nArmed only with a microphone\, a projection screen\, and a fixed camera\, Nuroğlu performs a dual role as both actor and live cinematographer. \nIn a raw\, technical struggle\, he manages lighting and soundscapes in real-time\, creating a “parallax” between his physical body and his digital ghost. \nThe production transforms the audience from mere spectators into active material\, as the camera turns to film the watchers\, projecting their silent presence into the heart of the monologue. \nThe work is set to a melancholic R&B and hip-hop score from the album “Başkası” by musician Çağrı Sinci. Stripping away theatrical polish\, the production refuses to conceal its mechanics. \nWhat emerges is a sonic and visual sculpture that confronts the ache of placelessness\, asking what it means to belong when one’s home feels imagined\, and what it means to be seen when your own name feels foreign in your mouth. \nIntimate\, funny\, unsettling\, and deeply\, deeply human. A salute to the progress in life\, to being here\, now\, right now. On stage.

SUMMARY:Transit - London Theatre
DESCRIPTION:How do you pack a life into 23 kilograms? One item at a time. \nTransit is an award-winning\, genre-bending investigation of identity\, belonging and migration. Told through a series of vignettes utilising physical theatre\, multilingual performance\, poetry\, dance\, multimedia\, practical lights and music\, Transit delicately navigates the feeling of being ‘too foreign for here\, too foreign for home.’ \nFrom the endless cycle of unpacking and repacking to wondering when you can stop being considered ‘a foreigner’ to building community and hope amidst uncertainty\, this deeply human piece is a love letter to anyone who has ever moved away from home. \nBased on true stories gathered from migrants across the UK\, Transit asks: what does it mean to settle in the space between languages\, cultures and identities? \nAll performances of Transit are creatively captioned.
