SUMMARY:Nature Morte: The Extermination of Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Nature Morte: The Extermination of Ukraine is the result of extensive research by British artist Piers Secunda. \nApproaching the deliberate destruction of cultural history and national identity through the depiction of traditional Ukrainian dishes and their ingredients\, at first sight Nature Morte is an exhibition of still lifes. Based on photographs taken by Secunda during visits to Ukraine in 2024 and 2026\, the paintings were made with ink he produced from charcoal gathered in Kharviv\, the site of the first Ukrainian Government building destroyed by Russia’s invasion in 2022. \nArranged as pyramids to reflect the power structures behind the kidnapping and forced military training of Ukranian children\, and the hierarchies behind the targeted bombing and systematic looting of cultural artefacts\, the paintings act as portals to an archive of evidence. Reached via QR codes\, the names and faces of the perpetrators are presented alongside extensive supporting material. \nThe exhibition is complemented by a map of more than five thousand points of damage to cultural sites recorded across Ukraine\, and a 40-minute documentary by Secunda’s long-term collaborator David Miller. \n  \nFor more details\, click HERE

SUMMARY:Thieves in Satin - Londons Queens of Crime
DESCRIPTION:Step into the dazzling yet dangerous world of “THIEVES IN SATIN”\, the electrifying new production from Moving Stories Dance Company. Inspired by the infamous all-female UK crime syndicate\, The Forty Elephants\, this breathtaking dance spectacle unravels the story of Diamond Alice\, The Bobbed Hair Bandit\, and Baby-Faced Maggie—women who stole more than just riches; they stole the spotlight. \nBorn in the shadows of a Lambeth workhouse\, Alice Diamond had no choice but to fight for survival. A master thief by her teens\, she rose to power as the formidable Queen of the Forty Elephants\, leading a gang of fearless women who lived by their own rules. By the 1920s\, they had reached legendary status—draped in satin\, dripping in stolen jewels\, and dancing the night away with the very aristocrats they deceived. \nNow in its 4th triumphant year\, Moving Stories Dance Company has captivated audiences with its bold\, narrative-driven productions. The company makes it’s exciting debut at The Cockpit.  Featuring an ensemble of ballet\, contemporary\, and West End performers\, the company is known for blending gripping storytelling with dynamic choreography. \nTHIEVES IN SATIN is a thrilling fusion of elegance and danger\, a celebration of rebellion and resilience. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the hidden underworld of 1920s London—where crime was an art\, and these women were the masters. \nDon’t just watch history—experience it. SUMMARY:Unwriting the Artist’s Statement | Online Workshop with Elle Reynolds
DESCRIPTION:‘Unwriting the Artist’s Statement’ is a focused\, playful online workshop centred on conversation\, making\, and discovering your own voice. \nThe session invites you to abscond from International Art English and respond directly to your work. Moving away from the critical language often used to address contemporary art\, the workshop proposes different protocols for speaking about your practice to the world.  \nThrough a series of guided prompts\, improvisation\, and gentle exercises\, participants will work with revision\, association\, and a deliberate quality of randomness to develop ways of using their own voice. The focus is on speaking through the work rather than separating language from practice. \nThe workshop is hosted by IMT Gallery and led by artist and educator Elle Reynolds\, whose practice works through collaborative processes\, storytelling\, and material experimentation. \nFor makers\, artists\, writers\, anti-writers\, poets\, curators at any stage of their practice\, and anyone interested in finding alternative ways to speak about their work. It is especially useful if you are preparing portfolios\, applications\, or exhibitions\, or if you simply want your language to feel more natural and connected to what you do. \nPlaces are limited — the workshop takes place on Sunday 16 August\, 3-5pm (BST). \nFollow the link below to learn more and book. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/guest-house-unwriting-the-artists-statement-online-workshop-tickets-1992700479777

SUMMARY:Set Menu - London Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Friday night. Food is ready\, drinks are cold\, cutlery is set. Max is primed to throw the perfect dinner party. Nothing but perfection will do; nothing else has worked. After a hundred attempts\, he knows exactly what to do and say. \nHours later\, the guests leave satisfied\, as Max waits for the clock to set him free. This time for sure\, he’s earned a tomorrow. Set Menu begins 600 days later. Max has failed to escape so many times that he’s lost all sense of time and himself. \nThe clock resets\, the guests forget\, and he begins again. \nOne particularly awful night\, he decides to reset the night early. When he wakes to try again\, something’s different. He’s lost a pen. The plan? Simple. Chaos. He’s going to beat whatever is keeping him trapped by making the worst dinner party ever. With exceptional knowledge of the house’s contents and the guests’ psyches\, he’ll take on the role of a twisted puppeteer. The food is burnt\, the drinks are spiked\, the cutlery is sharpened. \nAs anarchy reaches its peak\, Max is confronted with a terrifying truth: one guest was never supposed to be there. And knows more than they let on.

Can they escape? \nA new play exploring the dreams\, delusion\, despair and desires of four people bound together in one shift. \nFagbreak is for an adult audience and takes place in The Cockpit auditorium. \nThis is the first staged performance of Fagbreak\, which first had a rehearsed reading at BOLD THEATRE last October. Since then Fagbreak has been developed and reworked. \nFagbreak is the second production from RatGurl Theatre which was founded in 2026 to create in-house work centred around real stories with a flair for the extraordinary. Co-founders Purnima Rai and Ana João met at Identity Drama School in 2019.

SUMMARY:Dance Again
DESCRIPTION:Dance Again follows Noa through one night at a music festival — a psychedelic celebration of love and unity that collapses into a massacre. \nThe play explores an unfolding terror attack from the perspective of a brain under the influence of mind-expanding drugs. Told through the distorted lens of LSD and guided by a live DJ who sculpts the atmosphere in real time\, the play oscillates between ecstatic peaks and traumatic episodes\, fracturing Noa’s reality until she can no longer tell trip from truth. All while confronting the vanishing of her partner\, her friends\, the very idea the dance floor represents. \nWhat follows is a reckoning with irreversible loss and the question of whether joy can ever be reclaimed. \nBased on real events\, Dance Again is a love letter to rave and festival culture\, and a confrontation with terror choosing it as battlefield — a memorial\, a rave\, and a refusal. \nHow can you dance again? \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:Fishwives
DESCRIPTION:Step right up for FISHWIVES—a riotous comedy cabaret that’s smutty\, feminist\, historical\, and dare we say\, hysterical. \nIf Chaucer had a potty-mouthed sister with a vendetta against the patriarchy\, this is the show she’d have made. Written in verse with the gleeful irreverence of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes\, Fishwives catapults the forgotten heroines of history onto centre stage—louder\, looser\, and far less ladylike than you remember. \nPenned and performed by seasoned comedy poet Abi Unwin-Smith (RCSSD)\, with a decade of live mischief under her belt\, this anarchic hour fuses poetry\, storytelling and movement with the high-energy chaos of vaudeville. Expect stripping suffragettes\, scandalous monarchs and the odd persecuted pudenda—no petticoat will be left unruffled. \nAfter a decade on the UK and Australian comedy and poetry circuits\, Fishwives now bursts forth as a full-throttle show: a bawdy mash-up of brains\, bosoms\, and belly laughs. In an age when women’s rights still hang precariously in the balance\, this show wields laughter as both weapon and salve. \nSo gird your loins\, ladies and gents. These lusty bawds have stories to tell—and it’s about bloody time we listened.

SUMMARY:Murder on the Allotment\, the Musical
DESCRIPTION:Murder on the Allotment: The Musical \nSmall Boats. Small Minds. Someone is bound to lose the plot. \n17-year-old asylum seeker Karwan survived the Channel\, but can he survive middle England? After being handed an allotment plot in the provinces\, he finds himself trapped in a petty turf war with a bunch of “boring old age pensioners” who aren’t exactly rolling out the welcome mat. \nAs polite masks slip\, age-old prejudices take root and war breaks out over who truly belongs. Featuring eleven original songs\, and inspired by real-life stories from teenage asylum seekers\, this funny and provocative debut exposes the absurdities of bigotry at work in the UK. \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:21 Days
DESCRIPTION:The year is 2030. \nAfter a painful break-up\, Jay hits the reset button on his life—but instead of healing\, he spirals into a cycle of rage\, isolation\, and alcohol dependency. In a world increasingly disconnected by technology\, his search for meaningful connection is overshadowed by his own self-destructive habits. \nEnter May: a strange and enigmatic new flatmate whose unexpected presence begins to challenge Jay’s worldview. As their uneasy cohabitation unfolds\, truths are confronted and emotions unravel. \n21 Days is a bold new work exploring how we cope with heartbreak\, addiction\, and emotional suppression in a world where we humans face the unpredictability of technology. It asks: can logic ever explain the chaos of human emotion? \nReview:\n★★★1/2 Theatre and Tonic \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:Dünyada
DESCRIPTION:“I’m not from here.” \nA man arrives with a suitcase\, a camera\, and a voice that seems sad somehow. \nHe speaks of homeland\, parents\, lost loves\, strange customs… the narrative unravels into a mosaic of unfinished thoughts and philosophical detours; A microphone picks up his distorted speech; A camera captures his eyes\, lips\, old photos\, debris\, and you… too. Images appear behind him\, what it means to be seen? \nThis August\, internationally acclaimed actor and director Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu brings his visceral\, high-intensity solo performance Dünyada to Camden Fringe. Reimagining Will Eno’s celebrated monologue Title and Deed\, the production arrives in London fresh from Istanbul’s underground theatre scene\, offering an evocative exploration of migration\, identity drift\, and the fragile necessity of being witnessed in a digital age. \nDünyada\, meaning “in the world”\, is a formally adventurous solo theatre that tears the fabric of one-person play through cinematic camera work\, visual extension and sound design. Nuroğlu performs a dual role as both actor and live cinematographer\, walking the thin line between the mundane duties of keeping things going and the emotional disorder of remembering (like all of us). In a raw\, technical struggle\, he manages lighting and soundscapes in real-time\, creating a parallax between his physical body and his digital ghost. The production transforms the audience from mere spectators into active material\, as the camera turns to film the watchers\, projecting their silent presence into the heart of the monologue. \nIntimate\, funny\, unsettling\, and deeply\, deeply human. \nDünyada. A salute to the progress in life\, to being here\, now\, right now. On stage. \n  \nGet your tickets HERE
