SUMMARY:TEDxHultLondon: Never Settle – Speaker Antony Gordon
DESCRIPTION:Never Settle\nHow Curiosity Did Not Kill The Cat\nTEDxHultLondon connects you with industry leaders\, entrepreneurs and creators that share their inspiring insights across various industries. \nThis year\, we decided to highlight inquisitiveness\, by reversing the saying ‘curiosity killed the cat’. Our incitement to ‘Never Settle’ encourages continuous development\, getting out of your comfort zone\, being kind to yourself\, and not settling for less. Never let your curiosity settle. On March 20th 2022\, we will celebrate curiosity. So what are you waiting for? Join us at TEDxHultLondon. \nThis sold out event is open for online guests to hear the amazing line-up of speakers including mentor\, podcaster\, and best-selling author Antony Gordon. In his talk titled “The One Change You Need for a Happier Life!\,” he’ll unpack a topic that dials right into today’s zeitgeist: how there is so much more to life than keeping up appearances. Antony’s background\, training\, and experience\, including academic excellence; the representation of some of the most prominent personalities in sport and entertainment; select training in the human psyche blended with his success as a stand up comic and raw authenticity places him in a unique position to ignite a spark in a dark world and to become the voice for a generation looking for tools and direction to navigate through the landmines along the journey of life.

SUMMARY:Train to Teach London
DESCRIPTION:A national recruitment campaign is coming to London to encourage local people to learn more about life as a teacher. The session aims to inspire more people in the region to join a unique profession that helps shape the next generation’s lives. \nAnyone interested in finding out more about the benefits and rewards of Teaching can visit the Train to Teach event at Congress Centre\, 28 Great Russell Street\, London\, WC1B 3LS on Saturday 5th March 2022 from 10 am to 2:30 pm. \nVisitors will learn how to get into Teaching from expert advisers\, training providers and local teachers. \nThe event is part of a programme of events organised across different towns and cities by the national Get Into Teaching campaign\, which provides a comprehensive programme of support to help graduates become teachers. \nAbout 10\,000 people attend a series of Train to Teach events every year. At the latest event\, attendees will be able to chat with current teachers to find out what a day in the life of a teacher is really like\, and get one-to-one advice from teaching experts on their application. Information will also be available about how to fund your training – you could get a tax-free bursary of up to £24\,000 to train as a teacher in selected subjects. \nReflecting on her career to date\, Anastasia Lada\, a maths teacher at Tolworth Girls School and Sixth Form in Surbiton\, who will be sharing their experience and insights at the event\, said: \n“I’m proud to be supporting the campaign\, and I would encourage anyone who is just starting in the world of work or looking to switch jobs to consider a career in Teaching.\n“Teaching is such a varied role\, from the emotional rewards of making students feel like anything is possible to use your experience to bring lessons to life – no two days are the same. The best part of it for me is to see it in students’ eyes when they understand something and can apply a new concept to new questions. \n“I know the impact good teachers can have on a child\, not just in terms of academic success but in teaching a child the importance of social skills\, promoting resilience\, self-worth and confidence.” \nBeing a teacher means impacting students well beyond the classroom years. In recent research of over 2\,000 people for getting into Teaching\, two fifths* (40%) of adults surveyed in England work in a job or career related to one of their favourite subjects from their time at school. Furthermore\, almost three quarters** (74%) of those surveyed who have a favourite subject said their teachers’ passion for the subject helped spark their interest in it1. \nRoger Pope\, the spokesperson for the Get Into Teaching campaign and a National Leader of Education\, said: \n“It’s a beautiful feeling knowing that every lesson is helping to shape the life of a young person. \n“As well as the immense satisfaction of witnessing students learn and knowing you are influencing who or what they might become\, Teaching enables you to tap into your talents and passion for a particular subject. \n“It also offers some competitive financial rewards and long-term prospects. \n“Anyone who feels they have the passion and potential to teach should join us for this Train to Teach event in London.” \nThe free Train to Teach event is held at Congress Centre\, 28 Great Russell Street\, London\, WC1B 3LS\, on Saturday 5th March 2022 from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Registration in advance is advisable\, but visitors can turn up and register on the day. \nAs a teacher\, you can help create a society where everyone\, wherever they live\, regardless of gender\, race\, ethnicity\, education or age\, has the opportunity to succeed. The Get Into Teaching service has experienced advisers available to give free support and advice. To learn more about a career in the classroom and the range of recruitment events being held this term\, visit: https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk\, or call the Get Into Teaching Line on 0800 389 2500.

SUMMARY:Cockney Conversations Month 2022: 3rd March – 4th April 2022
DESCRIPTION:The first Cockney Conversations Month* runs from Thursday 3rd March- Monday 4th April 2022 and kicks off with six online discussions on the significance of Cockney cultural heritage and how it adapted to physical\, social and cultural changes in the East End. \nWhat are Cockney Cultures?\nThe Cockney identity is under threat from bias\, prejudice and ignorance. However\, history shows how Cockney is an identity based on positive\, inclusive values. We celebrate what it means to be Cockney today\, for all creeds and races\, from its East End heartland and beyond\, through to the global Cockney diaspora. Cockney Cultures encourages greater self-belief\, confidence\, and pride in who Cockneys are\, what they stand for\, and how they can best work together to face their shared future. \nCockney Cultures is asking interested individuals\, cultural and community groups\, public bodies and venues to work with us through support\, resourcing and long-term collaboration. The idea grew out of a public debate held in March 2021 called ‘Can Cockney Be Saved?’ led by Andy Green from Grow Social Capital CIC. Since then\, Andy and Saif Osmani from the Bengali East End Heritage Society joined heads to kickstart the initiative to celebrate the culture of London’s working-class communities.\nCome along and join us in the debates and discussions! \nSo what’s in store for Cockney Conversations Month 2022? \nOnline discussions and debates (every 45 minutes): \n1) ‘Is Cockney dying?’\, Thursday 3rd March 2022 @ midnight (GMT): guest academic sociolinguists\, cultural commentators and questions from the audience. BOOKING LINK: https://50cockneyobjects.eventbrite.com \n3) ‘Is Essex Cockney?’\, Thursday 17th March 2022 @ midnight (GMT): sharing academic sociolinguistic studies on Cockney diaspora. BOOKING LINK: https://isessexcockney.eventbrite.com \n4) ‘Cockney-Bengali rhyming slang: how can Cockney revivalists learn from the Sylheti-Bengali Language Movement?’\, Thursday 24th March 2022 @ midnight (GMT): BOOKING LINK: https://cockneybengali.eventbrite.com \n5) ‘You havin’ a larf? Is there such a thing as Cockney humour?’\, Thursday 31st March 2022 @ midnight (GMT)? BOOKING LINK: https://cockneyhumour.eventbrite.com \n6) ‘Cockneycide – Is there prejudice against regional accents?’\, Monday 4th April 2022 @ midnight (GMT): a panel of cultural commentators and open discussions. SUMMARY:Future of Digital Customer Experience 2.0 webinar #CX2021
DESCRIPTION:Group Futurista presents\, yet another knowledgeable webinar on “The Future of Digital Customer Experience”. This webinar has numerous revolutionary keynotes\, case studies\, and panels. It brings together experts from the field of Technology\, Marketing\, Automation\, AI\, Innovation\, and various Services to discuss how Digital Transformation is impacting the Future of Customer Experience. \nA one of a kind webinar that sets a benchmark\, one can gain subject matter expertise & business intelligence by collaborating with Industry Leaders from the field of Engineering\, Retail\, Technology\, Big Data\, Digitalisation\, Information Security\, and more! \nCustomer Oriented Approach\n‘Customer First’ is a strategy being adopted by many organizations today\, and the change for digital transformation stems from the need to deliver an unrivaled customer experience. As per the research from IDC\, the net global spending on digital transformation is expected to rise more than a whopping $2 trillion by 2022. Giving rise to modern buyers who are more adaptable to digital technologies\, the customer experience is at the forefront of how customers rate the brands. This makes it imperative for businesses to implement an agile and flexible IT environment to deliver a consistent experience. \nShift to Personalized Experience\nAccording to a report by Internet Retailing\, 69% of customers need a personalized experience whereas less than 50% of brands can deliver the same. The need to become proactive in utilizing customer data is becoming the need of the hour for businesses to render a personalized Customer Experience. With the IoT availability throughout devices\, brands can leverage this data to know more about customer preference and conduct behavioral analytics to cater to a more tailored experience. \nOmnichannel Delivery of Services\nThe most significant change in the digital landscape remains the need to enhance the customer experience throughout all the channels and 24/7 in a week. Therefore organizations are tying up all the loose ends through CMS and IoT services along with other frameworks to stay ahead in the game. In the future\, it will become extremely significant to develop digital customer profiles through the deployment of Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) systems to keep track of customer interactions with the brand. \nThis event is promoted by Ercess Live

SUMMARY:Theory in Crisis Seminar - Sara Salem\, Anticolonial Contradictions
DESCRIPTION:What is the role of critical theory today and who is it for? What kind of maps can theory provide in the context of entrenched capitalist crisis? These are some of the questions posed by this seminar series. \nIn the aftermath of various mutations of twentieth-century ‘critical theory’ (Frankfurt School\, ‘French Theory’\, etc.)\, proponents of ‘postcritique’ have argued that critical theory has ‘run out of steam’. Instead\, this seminar series starts from the premise that 21st-century crisis has also generated dynamic new ways of reconsidering these questions. A critical theory of the present is necessarily a crisis theory. \nIn this session\, Sara Salem will give a talk titled ‘Anticolonial Contradictions: Temporality\, Capital and Theory in 1950s Egypt.’ \nThis talk explores the powerful project created in the aftermath of Egypt’s decolonisation in the 1950s and 1960s through an imagined conversation between Antonio Gramsci and Frantz Fanon\, two foundational theorists of anti-capitalism and anticolonialism. Questions of decolonisation\, capitalism\, temporality\, and mastery are explored in order to excavate anticolonial politics in all of its complexity. The talk asks what the contradictions present within these projects can tell us about social theory more broadly\, as well as how we narrate\, theorise\, and remember histories of anticolonial struggle. \nSpeaker\nSara Salem is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the London School of Economics. Her research interests include political sociology\, postcolonial studies\, Marxist theory\, and global histories of anticolonialism. Her recently published book with Cambridge University Press is titled Anticolonial Afterlives in Egypt: The Politics of Hegemony.

SUMMARY:PSD2 MasterClass
DESCRIPTION:Our PSD2 masterclass provides a crystal clear understanding of the regulatory framework and international best practice examples of the business side of open banking in the European Economic Area. \nBanking is under dual change and challenge: \n\nThere is significant macroeconomic pressure motivating banks and bankers to find their internal reserves of efficiency. This pressure is still around originating from 2008 reviving\, culminating\, multiplying\, and amplifying in conjunction with COVID-19 challenges.\nThere is a new market structure brewing and being born\, dominated by excellence in technology and agility in market delivery. This new market structure has multiple dimensions: new core clientele\, new channels\, new products\, new positioning\, new risks\, new competitors\, and new potential business partners.\n\nAddressing this dual challenge of macro pressure and market structure it is paramount that you as leading banks and bankers are actively winning key market opportunities instead of only playing defense and passively hedging existential risks.
