SUMMARY:Kahareb #3 كهارب – Best of Arabic Electronic & Underground Music
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together the finest selection of electronic and underground artists from the Middle East and North Africa\, Kahareb celebrates the vibrant scenes of techno\, electro-chaabi\, global bass\, house\, and more – and the spectacular regional talent that is making it all happen. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLiliane Chlela ★ El Jehaz ★ Baskot Lel Baltageyya ★ DJ Saliah \n\n\n\nFollowing two sold-out editions\, Kahareb returns in collaboration with Beirut and Beyond\, one of Lebanon’s leading independent festivals of contemporary music to showcase a unique night and fascinating lineup from Lebanon\, Egypt and Jordan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLiliane Chlela \n\n\n\nWith her distinct sound treatment and signature improvised performances\, Liliane Chlela has become of the most versatile producers and composers in the Middle East. Pushing the boundaries of ‘Experimental and Electronic Music’ in Lebanon and the Middle East for over a decade\, she has extensively collaborated with regional artists such as Hamed Sino (Mashrou’ Leila) and Tarek Yamani\, as well as being featured in Boiler Room’s Beirut edition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEl Jehaz \n\n\n\nReshaping the boundaries between traditional Arabic music and electronica\, multi instrumentalist and producer El Jehaz has become a key player in the digitalised rebirth of Mijwiz and electronic Dabke\, an unstoppable folkloric music phenomenon from Jordan and Palestine that has grown greatly with the work of his previous project\, 47SOUL. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBaskot Lel Baltageyya \n\n\n\nA captivating audio/visual music project that playfully attempts to bridge the gap between experimental music and the pop music landscape. Lyrically\, the project taps into the dark absurdist humor iconic to Egyptian 80s and 90s B-Movies\, ads and pop culture. Musically\, the project masterfully combines shaabi music\, TV scores\, early electronic music\, and western psychedelia. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDj Saliah \n\n\n\nBritish-Lebanese competition winning DJ and evolving producer\, DJ Saliah is renowned for her unique blends of acapellas\, heavy baselines\, popular Arabic grooves and ground-shaking electronic Arabesque. Recently opening for Omar Souleyman\, she has also supported artists such as the MOBO-Award-Winning Lady Leshurr\, Shkoon\, Ammar 808 and Acid Arab. \n\n\n\n______________________________________________________________ \n\n\n\n18+ GOV ID Required \n\n\n\nThis event is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible \n\n\n\n______________________________________________________________ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE ORGANISERS \n\n\n\nMARSM \n\n\n\nMARSM UK is a London-based production and promotion company for alternative and underground Arabic music events in the UK. SUMMARY:Turner and the Thames
DESCRIPTION:Sir David Attenborough opened this exhibition of J.M.W. Turner’s original work in January this year\, which attracted widespread publicity and resulted in the exhibition selling out until the end of April\, its original end date. But\, thanks to Tate generously extending its loan\, the exhibition of five oil sketches of the Thames can now be seen until October 31st. \nRigorous precautions have been taken to protect staff and visitors\, including limiting the number of visitors in the house to just eight at any one time which provides an enhanced\, more intimate experience. \n“Turner’s House Trust are incredibly grateful to our volunteers for working these extra hours and to the Tate for this extension of their loan\, the first Turner works to be shown in his house since 1826.” Says Ricky Pound\, House Director\, “We’ve had great feedback since reopening\, as limiting numbers has meant more space in the house for visitors to explore and this has been welcomed with enthusiasm!”\nDue to the current Covid-19 situation\, advance booking is essential. Visitors will receive a short introduction to the house in the garden and then enjoy a self-guided visit from Wednesday-Saturday: 12pm-1pm-2pm-3pm (last entrance). Exclusive guided tours for small family groups and close friends can also be arranged. Please contact housedirector@turnershouse.org for further details.

SUMMARY:Roy's Art Fair
DESCRIPTION:Roy’s Art Fair is back and raring to go after sadly having to postpone our April fair. \nOur next fair will be in our new edgy venue The Boiler House on the bustling artistic hub Brick Lane in East London. There will be 80 emerging and established artists on display\, both new to our fair as well as previous artists showing their new work. Over our 4 day event\, we continue our focus on accessibility by keeping Roy’s Art Fair entrance FREE for all. \nRoy’s Art Fair wants to support the recovery of London’s cultural sector\, the creative arts and our artists. \nThe safety of both exhibitors and the public are our main priority at the 6th Roy’s Art Fair\, which we will be going above and beyond to ensure. With the unfortunate cancellation of International art fairs\, due to travel restrictions for international clientele\, Roy’s will aim to deliver an exciting and safe UK Art Fair. \nThe team at Roy’s Art Fair are all artists in their own right and offer their invaluable expertise and support to both emerging and established artists as they navigate the art world. Their focus is primarily on developing a community led spirit initiated by artists to connect directly with the public and promote both the artists’ and buyers’ interests first. \nWhat sets us aside from the host of other art fairs now popping up around London is our comfortable yet energetic atmosphere that allows visitors to connect with artists and invest in artwork they love. Roy’s Art Fair does this at an approachable level\, whether you’re an avid art collector or a first-time buyer and with our free entry\, we welcome all.

SUMMARY:Making History Festival: Indus: The Sound of the Story
DESCRIPTION:Please go to the website Link to book tickets to this event \nIndus: The Sound of the Story practical workshop with Gestalt Arts \nWhether it’s on film or live\, the visuals are only half the story\, and the sound is vital for people who are blind or visually impaired. In this practical session\, Ruth Mariner of Gestalt Arts and a foley artist present their ongoing work with opera in their production Indus\, and explore how live ‘foley’ sound effects and audio-description can heighten the experience for everyone.Bethan performs in Indus \nAlthough the production has been paused due to Covid-19 restrictions\, Indus is an intimate new work and unique approach to integrated access using electronic music\, foley sound effects\, audio-description and the operatic voice. The production explores the relationship between disability and environment through the unlikely story of whale evolution. When a land-mammal begins first to explore the water\, she finds a place where her differences become strengths\, embarking on a journey of self-discovery towards an extraordinary future. \nInfluenced by the theatre-making of Tim Crouch (Adler and Gib)\, Simon McBurney (The Encounter)\, Bryony Kimmings (Fake it Till you Make it)\, and contemporary composer Meredith Monk\, a team of opera/theatre makers join visually impaired singer Bethan Langford to re-examine the relationship between stage and sound\, text\, drawing and representation. In a cocoon-like sound word of soft electronic textures and song\, staging and foley sound effects interact with storytelling (audio-description)\, leaving space for the imagination and creating a powerful and equal experience for visually impaired and sighted audiences.

SUMMARY:Christmas pop up cinema- Elf
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us at Crofton Park Pictures showing Christmas Classic Elf. \nElf is a really fun holiday film it is a 2003 American Christmas comedy film directed by Jon Favreau\, written by David Berenbaum\, and starring Will Ferrell\, James Caan\, Zooey Deschanel. \nCountry Living voted it as the 55 Best Christmas Movies for Kids That the Whole Family Will Love Watching. \nFamilies have discovered how funny and how well this little film tells its King-sized holiday message. So much of this witty holiday family entertainment\, which\, up until the end\, when the “true spirit of Christmas” must be reaffirmed\, happily favors slapstick over treacle. We will be screening it in The Rivoli Ballroom. \nWe will have a food stall open serving all the sweet and savoury cinema favourites as well as a bar open for the adults. \nDoors open 4.30pm\, the Film begins at 5pm \nTickets are limited and we will be implementing a special seating arrangement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. SUMMARY:W1 Curates x GIORGIKO digital exhibition
DESCRIPTION:W1 Curates presents the artwork of Giorgiko on state-of-the-art technology at the heart of London’s iconic Oxford Street. Giorgiko (pronounced jee-OR-jee-koh) is the collaborative creation of Darren and Trisha Inouye melding minimal\, expressive character illustration with classical painting. The Giorgiko universe is home to lost boys and wayfaring girls\, and explores the stories of their wanderings and their dreams of being found again. \nThis Los Angeles-based husband-and-wife team draws their inspiration from history\, childhood memories\, and meaningful stories both real and imagined. Their work explores the familiar feelings of those who have experienced loss\, searched for meaning\, and felt love’s embrace. Their hope is that in a world full of wandering\, the Giorgiko universe inspires the search for truth\, true love\, and purpose.
