We’ll be in Leyton studio on November 23rd and 24th and in Highgate studio on December 7th and 8th. \nWhether you’re a returning pottery lover or a curious newcomer\, the markets offer something for everyone: browse the one-of-a-kind pieces\, meet the makers behind the masterpieces\, and discover why this mindful craft is so popular in the city.  \nThere will be street food\, from freshly baked sourdough pizza to BBQ delicacies and hot dogs. We’ll have festive drinks to warm you up in cold weather\, from local craft beer to mulled wine\, barista coffees\, or soft drinks if you prefer to keep it chilled. Last but not least\, there will be live music to add an extra dose of festive cheer to the atmosphere.   \nThere will be live wheel-throwing demos on all four market days\, so you can get up close and see lumps of clay transform into beautiful pottery. For anyone who would like to get hands-on with clay\, there will be drop-in workshops at the Leyton market on November 23rd and 24th.  \nDuring the Leyton Market\, our neighbours will also open their doors for the Argall Ave Open Studios\, which will feature fine woodwork businesses\, a bamboo bicycle maker\, and food and drinks from the local Pavilion Bakery and Ha Noi Cafe. \nOn Sunday\, November 24th\, the makers of the East End Trades Guild will also join us to add handcrafted goods other than ceramics.  \nEach year\, Turning Earth makers donate special pieces and seconds to raise money for organisations that reflect Turning Earth’s vision of building a community with open arms. This year\, we’re supporting the potters and craftspeople affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast US through the charity CERF+.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the festive season\, Islington Square Presents: The Christmas Sorting Office\, a brand-new event\, will take place on Saturday\, 23 November\, from 12 pm to 5 pm on Upper Street.   \nOnce home to a grand postal sorting office for all mail destined for North London\, Islington Square will welcome ‘The Christmas Sorting Office’ and play host to various complimentary workshops\, a special postbox for Father Christmas letters and an illustrator decorating beautiful handmade gift tags. The pop-up forms part of a wider shopping and dining event where the retailers\, restaurants and bars will come together to offer visitors a festive experience\, including promotions\, special menus\, discounts and activations.    \nUrban Food Fest will transform the open-air boulevard into a Christmas market\, featuring a bustling hub of local makers’ stalls and artisanal products. Alongside this\, there will be live entertainment\, a new Christmas tree installation\, and the King’s Head Theatre’s Cinderella pantomime cast will make a special appearance.   \nFree workshops at ‘The Christmas Sorting Office’ will run between 12 pm and 5 pm on 23 November. They will feature Christmas Wreath making\, sip-and-paint\, plant pot painting\, and kid-friendly arts and crafts. Children can write their cards or letters to Father Christmas and post them in the beautiful Islington Square Post Box. Each letter posted is in with the chance to win a gift throughout the festive season.   \nRETAILER OFFERS AND ACTIVATIONS  \nShoppers can enjoy a 25% discount at Fisheye Opticians\, a voucher purchased at Percy Langley or The Wearer; the Lounge & Co\, Arlo & Jacob and Wild Swans will offer Christmas treats and drinks in-store. Give Your Best is hosting an ethical Christmas market\, and The Bottle Cocktail Shop will run a pop-up bar in the North Arcade. Odeon Luxe & Dine will unveil their brand new photo booth\, which will be up throughout the entire Christmas season. Head there with family or friends\, as the photo booth will be free to use exclusively on 23 November.  \nIslington Square is partnering with a local charity\, Islington Giving\, on a cracking new idea to end loneliness in Islington. All proceeds raised through the hand-crafted Angel Crackers will support the charity’s work with isolated and vulnerable neighbours in Islington. The charity’s Christmas crackers will be available at the Christmas Sorting Office pop-up on 23rd November for a donation of £5 each or £30 for a box of 6.  \nCHRISTMAS AT ISLINGTON SQUARE  \nThroughout Christmas\, there will be a range of experiences at Islington Square. From 30 November\, The King’s Head Theatre will showcase a new family-friendly Cinderella pantomime running until 5th January. Megan’s\, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant\, is launching a new Christmas party set menu perfect for getting together with family\, friends or colleagues.
