DESCRIPTION:You are invited to our T.O.A.D. Show at Lesnes Abbey\, Bexley\, hosted by Froglife’s London Tails Of Amphibian Discovery (T.O.A.D.) Project. Come along for a fun day out for children and adults! \nThis event celebrates the successful pond restoration of Pine Pond carried out by Froglife and the local council in March 2019. Before the work\, Pine Pond had little native vegetation\, low oxygen levels and no breeding amphibians. Within 2 weeks of the restoration work\, toads were spotted breeding in the pond. The UK’s toad population has declined by 68% over the last 30 years so Pine Pond is now a valuable asset in helping the species survive. \nOur T.O.A.D Show will include a variety of free activities available for the public to get involved with\, including: \n• Free Wildlife Photography Workshops with an expert wildlife photographer\n• Virtual Reality Experience – See what life is like from a toad’s point-of-view!\n• Guided Walks around the site\n• Local street artists live-painting a mural of a common toad (1 of an edition of 7 in London)\n• Pond Doctor – Ask our resident expert any questions you have about amphibians or ponds\n• Information Stand – Learn how to identify London’s reptiles and amphibians and find out what it takes to build the perfect pond\n• Children’s activities

Apart from terrifying those around\, London World Zombie Day has been doing charities that have helped others. \nThis is the final bang for London World Zombie Day. Therefore\, all lost lost zombies as well as new zombies shall gather to shamble through Central London\, dressed up in your zombie finest\, to meet at the secret location. Think of it like one last “hurrah!” before hammering  the final nails into the coffins and snuggle down for a long\, long sleep. \nThis year World Zombie day hopes to raise charity for prevention of hunger and homelessness. The money goes towards charities that work on alleviating these issues. The charity of choice this year is City Harvest – giving food another life. City Harvest has a simple mission: Rapidly rescue surplus food and use it to feed those who need it most. Be part of the team making London first to be a zero-waste city. \nRegister HERE to attend World Zombie Day: London. We will contact you with information about how you can prepare for the day\, help fundraise\, and most importantly: where to go on the day! \n2017 video: \n \nThe event is free\, but please show your support by adding on a donation when you register (suggested amount: £5). This will help cover minimal admin cost and the rest will go towards the charity. The walk is a family-friendly event. Use your best judgement when it comes to planning your outfit. Please do not bring weapons (fake\, fantasy\, and definitely not real). As you’ll be on your feet and outdoors for most of the day\, take this into consideration. And be creative! \n3. Do not attempt to scare anyone who is not a willing participant. If anyone is freaking out\, turn and shamble in the opposite direction. Avoid confrontations! \n4. If your walk is anywhere near streets or roadways\, stay on the pavement unless crossing the street. When crossing\, it’s OK to “break character” and cross quickly. Think fast “New Dawn of the Dead” zombies verses the slower “Old Dawn of the Dead” zombies when crossing the street. Blocking traffic is a crime and anyone doing so could be arrested. \n5. STRICTLY NO ILLEGAL DRUGS are permitted and no alcohol for under 18’s. Police will be called if this rule is broken. \n6. No littering\, destruction of property\, or any other illegal activity. This includes smearing fake blood\, banging on windows\, etc. The organisers will not be held responsible for any damaged property. Pretend the location of the walk is your own neighbourhood and show the utmost respect. This event is a tradition\, so we don’t want to ruin it. Remember\, the press will be watching (along with the police) and this event could get world-wide news coverage. Let’s put on a good show. \n7. Keep in mind you might be asked for a picture ID at the pubs and your zombie face might not match your picture ID. If you are refused entry\, please understand the doorman is only doing his job. \n8. Diners will be served up a century’s worth of Christmas food and drink in one decadent\, decade-hopping menu – through the Art Deco era\, the swinging sixties\, to the present day and beyond. \nHeld in partnership with renowned ‘dining adventurers’\, Flavourology\, diners will enjoy an 11-course tasting menu that celebrates key moments in time and iconic Christmas dishes of past decades. The feasting menu was conceptualised by food historian\, Tasha Marks\, and reimagined for present day diners by Tesco and Flavourology chefs. \nGuests will enter the venue\, a former 1900s police station in Covent Garden\, and receive a welcome drink inspired by the era to sip on as they journey back in time at the ‘Tesco Feast of the Century.’ Once seated\, diners will then travel through each decade – just like Joel\, the delivery driver in this year’s Tesco Christmas advert – via a heady mix of swirling projections\, music and light\, guided by time-travelling hosts. Each new course will signify the passing of time\, and as each one is served\, the environment the diners are in will change\, giving guests a truly immersive experience. \nThe first 10 courses will reimagine what people of each decade from the past 100 years would have enjoyed around the Christmas dinner table; from a 1930s festive ham terrine\, to a 70s prawn cocktail with a modern twist and an update on the 80s drunken cheese fondue. \nThe final course\, the 11th\, will celebrate the dish of Christmas future. Invented by – and informed by the insights of – the Tesco Product Development Chefs. This dish also takes inspiration from Marks’ analysis of trends over the past 100 years\, to predict what Christmas dinners of the future could look like. \nFittingly\, the feast costs £19.19 – taking inspiration from the year Tesco was founded – and all proceeds will go to charity. \nTasha Marks\, food historian\, said: “Food has always been central to our Christmas celebrations\, so it was fascinating to take a deep dive into the trends that have influenced our festive feasts over the past 100 years. DESCRIPTION:2019 Race ‘Teaser Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCH-UFwuKUg \nThe Horse is with you! \n2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of the London Pantomime Horse Race\, dubbed one of the Worlds wackiest annual race events.\nOver 30 panto horses will be racing through the streets of Greenwich\, London\, (dressed in the style of various Star Wars based characters) in a fun-filled race-course featuring over 6 pit-stops\, galactic steeple jumps and the occasional asteroid belt that racers must dodge along the quarter-mile route from King William Walk to Royal Hill. \nBefore the 1 pm race begins\, selected race teams will also be strutting their stuff at the pre-race ceremony live show at Devonport House\, in the nutty star wars themed parody dance-off contest ‘Strictly NEIGH Dancing’\, (featuring celebrity judging panel). \nThe 2019 ‘Race-Day’ event\, held each year at Greenwich\, SE London\, promises to be a very memorable day for racers & spectators alike.’\nExpect to witness one of the largest Star Wars processions\, held in London that will be featuring a huge battalion of Storm Troopers\, Droids\, Jedi’s\, Siths\, Rebels\, imperial officers who will be escorting the panto-horse teams from the iconic Cutty Sark boat\, towards the starting line of the 2019 London Pantomime Horse Race.\nThe race event will be raising money for Make a Wish Foundation plus further team fundraising support for 4 additional charities.\nVisit http://www.pantohorserace.org for further details. \n\n\n \n  \nTEAM REGISTRATION\nRacers: please visit our website for registration steps or email entries@pantohorserace.org to register.\nWe strongly advise registering early to secure your team place & choice of Star Wars character. \nMAY THE HORSE BE WITH YOU!

DESCRIPTION:Help us build amphibian-friendly habitat at Dormers Wells in Ealing and learn more about the UK’s declining toad population. \nPlease wear suitable footwear (walking boots or wellies) and check the weather forecast beforehand and bring appropriate clothing (warm/waterproof). You may also wish to bring a packed lunch and a flask. \nGloves and tools will be provided. \nWe will meet at 10.30 at the entrance near Dormers Wells Junior School.
