SUMMARY:Tallulah Rendall Only Human UK Tour (St Pancas Old Church) - Concert
DESCRIPTION:ONLY HUMAN is more than an album — it’s an immersive companion exploring what it means to live with an open heart in a complex world. \nABOUT → TALLULAH RENDALL \nTallulah Rendall’s seventh album\, HUMAN\, is a raw and cinematic exploration of what it means to live with an open heart in a world that often rewards disconnection. Blending alt-pop\, electronic textures\, and organic instrumentation\, the album chronicles her journey from shame and a lack of self-belief to self-acceptance and love; a deeply personal yet universal reflection on the courage to be human.” A love letter to the messy beauty of existence — to falling\, breaking\, healing\, and rising again. Each song is a prayer\, a confession\, a reclamation of self. It’s an album about remembering who we are beneath the noise; raw\, imperfect\, and profoundly alive. \nhttps://www.tallulahrendall.com/  \nTallulah’s performance includes Ben Roberts (cello & vocals)\, Sam Walker (drums & vocals)\, Steffanie Kelly (piano & vocals)\, and David Curtis (double bass) \nAtton=Raon – support \nMulti-Instrumental performer/composer Sam Walker – Sprawling experimental pop flows through soaring melody\, rolling textural beats and pin-drop moments held within a world of sound design\, spoken word\, exquisite lighting and visuals. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/attonraon/

SUMMARY:SOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE + SHE THE THRONE | Upset The Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nSOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE\nSHE THE THRONE\nSaturday 17 October\nThe Horse Hospital\, Colonnade\, London\, WC1N 1JD\n7.30pm | £11 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/hf9055210b2d \nSOPHIA DJEBEL ROSE is a Franco-Moroccan artist who distills a singular music. Blending folk\, noise\, experimental song\, and avant-garde poetry\, she invents a new language of her own. Born into the perpetual exile of a childhood divided between two countries\, Sophia has turned wandering into her greatest strength. As a modern poetess\, she now takes the stage alone\, armed with an electric guitar\, to sing of the beauty of the lands she has ceaselessly left behind. Her live performances intertwine Mediterranean music with ecological and feminist themes\, all of it carried by a syncretic approach that merges into a mysticism meant as an invitation to break the course of things and to reclaim one’s strength. Her latest album\, Sécheresse\, released in february 2025 unveils nine mesmerizing & genre-defying tracks imbued with magnetic allure. Austere yet baroque\, dark yet luminous\, raw yet refined\, this work escapes all categorization: it is an act of faith. To class among the unclassifiable\, Sophia Djebel Rose lays the foundations for an oeuvre that follows in the lineage of avant-garde women who never ceased to challenge and expand the limits of style. \nhttps://sophiadjebelrose.bandcamp.com/ \nSHE THE THRONE are a ritual noise duo from Manchester UK. They aim to bring forth an ancient latent rhythmic union merging themselves\, the space they play with the audience who listens\, urging them to remember. Musically incorporating elements of industrial music and harsh noise with the darker melody of bands like Portishead\, fused to the backbone of experimental hip hop. Since the release of their 2023 album\, “NUNTIS” on Trepanation Recordings\, they have shared line ups with a diverse range of artists such as: The Body & Dis Fig\, Wolf Eyes\, METH\, AYA\, Dälek\, Greet\, SATORI\, Collosloth and more. \nhttps://shethethrone.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:Vivaldi's Four Seasons – Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague
DESCRIPTION:The Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague (chamber ensemble) performs Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons at St George’s Hanover Square in Mayfair – the church where George Frideric Handel was a parishioner – with young Czech violinist Matteo Hager as soloist. \nIn autumn 2026\, St George’s Hanover Square hosts a rare musical occasion. The celebrated Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague\, long admired on the world’s great stages\, brings a program of genuine classical treasures to England in chamber formation. Few settings suit it better: George Frideric Handel worshipped at St George’s for most of his life\, and the church remains home to the London Handel Festival to this day. \n At the heart of the evening is Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. This timeless Baroque masterpiece still captivates audiences worldwide\, and its extraordinary descriptive power is why listeners feel the seasons turning before them. \nThe program also features Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik\, Bach’s Air on the G String\, and Pachelbel’s Canon in D\, long a byword for both ceremonial and romantic occasions. Handel’s Water Music completes the Baroque portion of the evening\, performed a few steps from the pew where the composer himself once sat. The orchestra brings a piece of home with it too: Dvořák’s Waltz No. 1 from the Two Waltzes\, Op. 54\, a warm and unmistakably Czech miniature for strings. \nProgramme: Pachelbel – Canon in D major; Mozart – Eine kleine Nachtmusik (selection); Bach – Air on the G String; Handel – Water Music (selection); Vivaldi – The Four Seasons; Dvořák – Waltz Op. 54 No. 1 and Slavonic Dance Op. 46 No. 8. \nFriday 16 October 2026 at 5 pm. About 75 minutes\, no interval. Part of the 30th Made in Prague Festival organised by the Czech Centre London. \nTickets: https://bmaproduction.enigoo.com/app/tickets/events/9\nMore info: https://www.bsop.eu \nBook Classical Musicians

SUMMARY:Shadow World Showcase: Thea Grant + Reality + RIEKO and more
DESCRIPTION:scenecollapser x Shadow World Presents:\n\n\n\nTHEA GRANT\n\n\nLast seen with Jenny Hval across the UK and EU in 2025\, this is a new era of deeply evocative conceptual sound design; heart wrenching\, abstract composition overflowing with yearning and romanticism. Unmissable.\n\n\n\nREALITY\n\n\nBuilding on nearly three decades of activity within countercultural creative spaces in punk\, metal and avant-garde\, REALITY explores constructivist philosophies\, transcendent experiences and a sprawling collection of creative touch points. Heavy and emotional.\n\n\n\nRIEKO\n\n\nRitualistic experimental pop from Japanese-American multidisciplinary artist\, musician\, and co-founder of Diasporas Now. Echoing\, incantation-like vocals over electronic and club rhythms; drawing on Japanese folk lullabies\, heavy metal\, and rave culture alike.\n\n\n\nREMOTE VIEWING\n\n\nNoise-rock\, hardcore\, post-rock\, shoegaze from folks from Abjure\, Palehorse\, Million Dead\, and Sly & The Family Drone. Heavy riffs\, with hearty nods to Art of Burning Water\, Knut and Curl Up And Die.\n\n\n\n3D JESUS\n\n\nPost-rock with well-considered free improvisations\, that recall the expansive experimentalism of Constellation Records‘ more raucous moments\, and the raw intimacy and post-folk of Pygmy Lush. Debut full length\, Roadside Shrines\, might even be out by this gig. But don’t count on it.

SUMMARY:THE YUMMY FUR - album launch! + BRUNO BOF | Upset the Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nTHE YUMMY FUR – album launch!\nBRUNO BOF\nFriday 9 October\nThe Lexington\, 96-98 Pentonville Rd\, Angel\, London\, N1 9JB\n7.30pm | £12 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/Eb344d50313e \nTHE YUMMY FUR’s first album of new material in over 25 years is seductive and ambiguous; a fast-paced flip through scenes from art\, myth\, life and fantasy; a witty whole made from glittering scraps. The band’s original incarnation – fronted by singer\, songwriter and guitarist John McKeown from 1992 to 1999 – morphed from making quick-hit cartoon-art songs to Eno and Cale-influenced creepers\, populated by characters from McKeown’s life in Glasgow and the films\, books and poetry that he lived a parallel life through. Everybody Talks About The Weather (out on Sep 24th through Upset The Rhythm) delights in using every past iteration of the band as potent collage material: a melee of sounds and ideas existing at once\, revealing themselves then dipping back into hiding. \nRecorded by the original core trio of McKeown\, Brian MacDougall (guitar) and Paul Thomson (drums)\, Everybody Talks About The Weather comes 17 years after the band reformed for sporadic live shows\, and seven years after the release of their sorta-greatest hits compilation Piggy Wings (Rock Action). Ten tracks long with nothing to spare\, it is as condensed and vital as their best songs\, with a new clarity of sound that allows their ambiguities to come into the light.\nhttps://theyummyfur.bandcamp.com/album/piggy-wings \nBRUNO BOF accompanied by live band playing songs heretofore unheard! The once pre-teen punk prodigy has finally grown up\, in so much as he and his Outrageous Methods Of Presentation release their debut single proper – the double AA sided single featuring two songs of completely different styles that work well together\, each clocking in at around 1 minute 30 seconds. Bruno says of them: “Tire Iron is an anarchistic salutation from a parallel universe where the king of rock ’n’ roll’s name is misspelled Hasil Adkins. This is all of the truth in the universe; the sound of angels kissing”. “You Know I Love You’ is a paean to the eternal salvation of love\, albeit one that comes off like a disturbing Chinn and Chapman song”. In the current climate it’s often only kids from affluent backgrounds that can afford to be creative. Bedminster’s Bruno Bof breaks that mould and his voice is authentic and passionate. \nhttps://linktr.ee/brunobof \n

SUMMARY:THE CLEANERS FROM VENUS + THE GARDENERS
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nTHE CLEANERS FROM VENUS\nTHE GARDENERS\nMonday 5 October\nIslington Assembly Hall\, Upper St\, London\, N1 2UD\n7pm | £18 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/eb85ea9a3f61 \nTHE CLEANERS FROM VENUS will be performing this Autumn in London. Martin Newell will be on guitar and piano\, joined by Nelson Surfquake Nice –  an original member of Cleaners back in the 80s\, and half of The Brotherhood of Lizards alongside Martin. The group will be performing some classic Cleaners songs\, with a Brotherhood of Lizards cameo-set thrown in! \nMartin Newell is a purveyor of ingenious pop music. His music is refracted from late 60s rock only shot through with invention from the rough-and-ready explosion of DIY tape releases in 80s Britain. As a songwriter\, he’s right up there with Syd Barrett and Ray Davies\, capturing a peculiar Englishness that’s very much his own. \nMartin started his career in music aged 19 when he joined an Essex glam-rock band called The Mighty Plod as a singer and gigged in rough clubs\, pubs and colleges for the next two years. In his early twenties he joined a hard rock/prog band from Ipswich called Gypp and gigged in the UK as well as touring northern Germany several times. In 1979\, he won his first record contract and shortly afterwards his first single ‘Young Jobless / Sylvie In Toytown’ was released\, first on an indie label and then with Liberty Records. In the 1980s he formed the anarchic and wonderfully offbeat Cleaners From Venus\, who after much defiance of music biz convention\, signed to a London record company and began making proper records which were well reviewed and well-received. He began co-writing songs with Captain Sensible in 1986\, a relationship which endures to some extent to this day. In 1989 he and his friend Nelson\, now of New Model Army formed The Brotherhood of Lizards\, were signed to make an album and proceeded to promote it\, touring the record by bicycle. This led to many TV appearances and some notoriety and amusement in the media. In 1993\, with XTC’s Andy Partridge in the producer’s chair Martin made what was to become his most successful album ‘The Greatest Living Englishman’\, hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as a rock classic. Over the last ten years Martin has continued to release exhilarating albums under his own name and as Cleaners from Venus\, most recently a winsome new Cleaners album called ‘K7’ was released on CD and cassette. \nA highly-entertaining live act\, Martin Newell performs infrequently\, refusing nowadays to tour at all.  He has been the subject of  a highly-praised documentary film Upstairs Planet (2019) which enjoyed premieres both in London and in New York. A second documentary The Jangling Man\, the director James Sharp’s intimate portrait of  Newell’s life and work\,  premiered in London and Los Angeles in October 2022. \nhttps://www.cleanersfromvenus.com/ \nTHE GARDENERS are a jangle-pop inspired indie rock band hailing from London and Southend On Sea. They have recently backed up Martin Newell as part of a live version of Cleaners From Venus. Check out their sublime new single ‘Round the West’ / ‘Falling from You’. \nhttps://linktr.ee/thegardenersband

SUMMARY:R.M.F.C. + THE HOBKNOBS | Upset the Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nR.M.F.C.\nTHE HOBKNOBS\nSaturday 3 October\nThe Lexington\, 96-98 Pentonville Rd\, Angel\, London\, N1 9JB\n7.30pm | £15 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/ta72c863481e \nR.M.F.C. is the recording project of New South Wales’ Buz Clatworthy. Buz Clatworthy seemingly writes songs with natural born ease\, both unfussy and hyper catchy. Since 2018 R.M.F.C. have released a slew on 7”s on Anti Fade\, Total Punk and Goodbye Boozy and 2023’s debut full-length ‘Club Hits’. This album gained energy and charm from both punchy songs and subtly\, with each song moving R.M.F.C. forward\, whilst holding something memorable. \nSince then Clatworthy has continued to push himself creatively through singles\, which feels like the smart play. He is allowed the freedom to experiment and express without really having to harken back to any trace of his beginnings of automaton-inflected\, fast-paced wormy punk from his youth. Most recent 7” ‘Ecstatic Strife’ dips its mug into the punch bowl of what’s best about New Zealand’s ’80s jangle pop scene\, with Clatworthy’s assured drumming keeping it on edge. B-side ‘Golden Trick’ is a magical stunner that delves into something more meditative. It’s meditative and lush and hopefully a promise of more to come. \nhttps://rockmusicfanclub.bandcamp.com/ \nTHE HOBKNOBS debut album ‘Helmets Off’ is released this June\, by themselves and 12XU. Every word and every strum sounds like it’s placed in exactly the right moment. Perhaps it is this bareness of the songs\, that makes it feel as if The Hobknobs are speaking to the listener directly. It is clear that they don’t want anything to cloud this human interaction. Yaël Dekker\, whom you may also know as the singer of The Klittens\, and Arie van Vliet\, who used to spread his word through the band Lewsberg\, were once described as loving misanthropes. Listening to ‘Helmets Off’\, this description seems rather accurate. Dekker and Van Vliet’s voices seem to know each other well\, in a way that magnifies the songs beyond their deceptive simplicity. \nThe Hobknobs

SUMMARY:CARLA DAL FORNO + GUESTS
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nCARLA DAL FORNO\nGUESTS\nThursday 1 October\nICA\, The Mall\, London\, SW1Y 5AH\n7.30pm | £16.50 | Tickets: https://dice.fm/event/69f1eedac3bbec0001965111 \nCARLA DAL FORNO is an Australian composer\, songwriter and producer based in Castlemaine\, Victoria. Working between post-punk minimalism\, experimental pop and atmospheric electronics\, she has built a dedicated international following through a series of acclaimed releases and extensive touring across Europe and North America. Her albums have been praised by outlets including Pitchfork\, The Quietus and Resident Advisor\, alongside airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music. Beyond her recorded work\, dal Forno hosts a monthly radio program on NTS Radio\, where she curates eclectic selections spanning experimental electronics\, dub\, post-punk and leftfield pop – offering insight into the wide-ranging influences that inform her own practice. \nShe has performed headline shows and festival appearances throughout the UK\, Europe and the United States\, including dates in London\, Berlin\, Paris and New York City\, as well as appearances at Unsound Festival and Le Guess Who? Her fourth studio album\, Confession\, expands her signature sound while maintaining the minimal\, immersive qualities that have defined her work to date. On stage\, dal Forno delivers a focused and atmospheric set that moves between brooding electronics and melodic immediacy – a performance that is both restrained and quietly powerful. \nhttps://carladalforno.bandcamp.com/ \nGUESTS is the home recording project of Jessica Higgins and Matthew Walkerdine. Vaguely named as such to avoid any problems with the poster if they pull out of a gig (which has only happened once) but also to capture a sense of reverse hospitality\, like what happens when private worlds meet each other\, making or having been made a space for. Their debut record\, “I wish I was special” (World of Echo\, 2024) was variously described as “a collage of concrète experiments and outerzone pop gestures\, music that sounds as if it’s been written from the depths of a dream”; “music for people who love music but also hate it too”. Their recently released second LP Common Domestic Bird continues in this vein\, layering synthesiser\, keyboards and samples over rudimentary drum rhythms and field recordings\, which are in turn sung or spoken with to create nine new songs. \nhttps://by-guests.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:AWAY UP NORTH - AN EVENING OF MOVIE MAVERICKS FROM FINLAND
DESCRIPTION:London\, UK\, October 1st\, 2026 / Cinema Museum\, London \nMIDNIGHT SUN FILM FESTIVAL COMES TO LONDON FOR A ONE-OFF CELEBRATION OF FINNISH CINEMA (& MUSIC) \nA landmark programme of rarely seen Finnish short films plus live music comes to London’s Cinema Museum following the festival’s 40th anniversary. \nAfter four decades of bringing adventurous cinema to the Finnish Arctic Circle\, the legendary Midnight Sun Film Festival is making a rare one-off pilgrimage to London’s Cinema Museum. \nFounded in Finland by brothers Aki Kaurismäki and Mika Kaurismäki\, the internationally renowned festival has become synonymous with bold filmmaking\, unexpected discoveries and an atmosphere unlike any other film festival. Now\, London audiences will have the opportunity to experience a specially curated selection of films drawn from the vaults of the Finnish Film Archive – from historic documentaries and feminist shorts to contemporary silent cinema and the anarchic early work of the Kaurismäki brothers. \nThe evening begins with Midnight Sun Film Festival (1987)\, Heikki Ortamo’s hilarious nine-minute introduction to the festival and its uniquely Finnish approach to cinema. The programme then moves through nearly a century of Finnish filmmaking\, some accompanied by live scores from acclaimed Finnish musicians Lau Nau and Henri Utan K. \nHighlights include Jean Sibelius at Home (1927)\, a charming portrait of the legendary Finnish composer and his family\, and Once Upon Time There Was Winter – and Snow (1934)\, an atmospheric glimpse of Finland’s snowy landscapes and rapidly modernising society. Varala\, Women’s Paradise (1947) celebrates the pioneering women’s physical education institute in the second city\, Tampere\, while Aki Kaurismäki’s Rocky VI (1986) delivers a characteristically deadpan Finnish parody of the Hollywood boxing blockbuster. \nThe programme also brings silent cinema firmly into the present with A Planet Far Away (2023)\, by Cannes-winning director Juho Kuosmanen (Compartment No. 6). Created using handmade cinematic trickery\, the film tells the strange and touching story of a lighthouse keeper and her young brother\, accompanied live by Lau Nau and Henri Utan K. \nAfter the interval\, the programme turns to two distinctive pieces of Finnish film history. In The Foundry (2007)\, Aki Kaurismäki observes workers in his hometown of Karkkila watching the Lumière brothers’ La Sortie de l’usine Lumière à Lyon – a playful meditation on cinema\, labour and the passage of time. \nThis is followed by Eila Kaarresalo-Kasari’s Finnish Frustrations (1969)\, a groundbreaking feminist short that uses a stark\, seven-minute portrait of courtship and sexual inequality to expose the frustrations embedded in everyday social life. \nThe evening concludes with a rare 35mm screening of The Liar (1981)\, Mika Kaurismäki’s debut feature\, written by and starring his brother Aki. Set in Helsinki\, the film follows the mischievous Ville Alfa as he walks the streets of the capital\, telling stories\, spinning lies and scamming money from friends. All for more drink and more women. Avoidable obstacles to becoming a serious writer. Funny\, irreverent and steeped in the spirit of the French New Wave\, The Liar announced the arrival of a distinctive new voice in Finnish cinema. \nLIVE MUSIC\nThe programme continues Midnight Sun’s long tradition of reimagining silent cinema through contemporary live music. \nLau Nau\, aka Laura Naukkarinen\, is a Finnish composer and sound artist whose work combines traditional instruments\, voice\, modular synthesisers and field recordings. She has released music internationally and performed live accompaniment to silent films at festivals including Midnight Sun Film Festival\, San Francisco Silent Film Festival and Bologna’s Il Cinema Ritrovato. \nHenri Utan K\, the moniker of Finnish-born\, London-based experimental guitarist and composer Henri Växby\, works between composition and improvisation\, combining dissonance\, ambient drones and hypnotic soundscapes. His work has featured on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 3\, as well as at London’s Cafe OTO and international new-music festivals. \nFor one night only\, the spirit of Finland’s legendary festival will cross Europe to meet London’s own film culture – bringing archival discoveries\, contemporary filmmaking\, live music and the irreverent cinematic world of the Kaurismäki brothers to the Cinema Museum. \n  \nTervetuloa! (a warm welcome). \n  \nEVENT INFORMATION \nMIDNIGHT SUN FILM FESTIVAL IN LONDON Venue: Cinema Museum\, London Date: 1/10/2026 Doors / Introduction: 7:00pm Duration: Approximately 2½ hours\, including interval Formats: 35mm\, 16mm and DCP Live accompaniment: Lau Nau and Henri Utan K \nPROGRAMME:\nMidnight Sun Film Festival (Heikki Ortamo\, 1987)\nJean Sibelius at Home (Aho & Soldan\, 1927)\nOnce Upon Time There Was Winter – and Snow (Unknown\, 1934)\nVarala\, Women’s Paradise (Aimo Jäderholm\, 1947)\nRocky VI (Aki Kaurismäki\, 1986)\nA Planet Far Away (Juho Kuosmanen\, 2023)\nThe Foundry (Aki Kaurismäki\, 2007)\nFinnish Frustrations (Eila Kaarresalo-Kasari\, 1969)\nThe Liar (Mika Kaurismäki\, 1981)

SUMMARY:Sing4 Nok6/Meet the Philips | Cockpit Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Sing4 Nok6\, and other broken things\nMusic: Ng Kwun Ho / Jerry Fryderyk\nLibretto: Courtney Cousins \nMeet The Philips\nMusic: Alessandro Mackinnon-Botti\nLibretto: Wilkie Robson \nSing4 Nok6\, and other broken things and Meet The Philips are a pair of chamber operas created by emerging composers from the Royal Academy of Music.\nThe evening brings two worlds onto one stage: a vivid\, fast-moving programme where different musical languages\, cultural perspectives and theatrical styles collide. \nIn “Sing4 Nok6\, and other broken things”\, cultural erasure becomes a live struggle between imposed and remembered\, where singing itself becomes resistance. \nIn “Meet The Philips”\, an entire marriage unfolds in one domestic space\, with the TV as the couple’s third wheel: comic\, invasive\, intimate\, and quietly devastating. \nCome to the first show this evening for two more operas for an evening moving between folklore\, psychological drama\, political urgency\, and domestic comedy\, The Breaking Point offers opera with pace\, contrast\, and sharp theatrical images. It asks what happens when the forces around us — nature\, language\, competition\, media\, love — stop staying in the background and start to break the sense of what we are. \n  \nBook your seats HERE
