SUMMARY:Imagine That! : Solo Art Exhibition by The Cameron Twins
DESCRIPTION:Imagine That! is the latest solo exhibition by The Cameron Twins\, opening at Protein Studios in East London and celebrating imagination through a playful\, nostalgic lens! \nThe exhibition brings together a wide range of works\, including large hand-pulled silkscreen prints\, collage\, mixed-media canvases\, sculpture\, and large-scale installation. The show will be open to the public from Friday\, 27th February to Saturday\, 28th February from 10 am to 7 pm each day. \n” Childhood is full of wild invention\, messy logic and unfiltered fun\, where fantasy is instinctive and always alive…but as we grow older\, that same sense of whimsy and wonder often fades. ‘Imagine that!’ playfully explores the tension between childhood and adulthood\, the ongoing tug-of-war between responsibility and fun\, and the internal battle to keep imagination alive. It celebrates the effort it takes to stay playful\, and the stubborn persistence of childhood imagination that refuses to behave!” – The Cameron Twins \nThe Cameron Twins are identical twins and contemporary British artists whose practice centres on hand-pulled screen printing\, layered processes\, and expressive hand-painted mark-making to create emotionally charged works rooted in nostalgia\, childhood imagery\, and pop culture. Over a short period of time\, they have built a dedicated international following\, and their work has been sold at Bonhams\, is held in significant private collections\, and has led to collaborations with brands including Bang & Olufsen\, LØCI\, and Gresham Blake. \nOpen to the Public: Friday 27th & Saturday 28th February\, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm (both days) \nLocation: Protein Studios\, 31 New Inn Yard\, London EC2A 3EY \n

SUMMARY:Klára Hosnedlová: Echo
DESCRIPTION:11 Feb 2026 – 29 Mar 2026 \nWhite Cube Bermondsey will open a solo exhibition of work by Klára Hosnedlová\, marking the artist’s debut with the gallery. Klára Hosnedlová’s corporeal\, immersive installations address utopian visions and imagine our future\, post-nature selves. Conceived as part-stage\, part-laboratory\, ‘Echo’ combines her signature photo-realist embroideries with architectural elements\, large-scale sculpture and textile works and living mycelium fungus. Incorporating performance elements and accompanied by a soundscape\, the artist choreographs a fictional narrative around themes of flux and transformation. \n\nKlára Hosnedlová (b. 1990\, Uherské Hradiště) is a Czech artist based in Berlin whose practice examines historical perception through utopian design and architecture. Responding to specific sites\, she researches experimental projects and past futurisms\, exploring how nostalgia shapes contemporary culture. Drawing on science fiction\, technology and ecological systems\, Hosnedlová creates immersive installations with a tactile\, “futuristic archaeological” atmosphere. Part of the first post-Communist Czech generation\, she is inspired by modernist and Brutalist architecture in Central and Eastern Europe and its intersections with politics\, history and mythology. Her work combines sculpture\, performance\, photography and embroidered panels and has been exhibited internationally\, including at Kunsthalle Basel\, Kestner Gesellschaft and the Lyon Biennale. \nFor more information about the exhibition please visit White Cube Bermondsey website \nOrgansied by White Cube Berdmonsey.

SUMMARY:FRAME / REFRAME: Zine Making & Inner Weather with Clare Macdonald
DESCRIPTION:Connect with your inner self through guided meditation\, writing\, drawing and zine- making. \nAs we gather in the juniper-infused IMT Gallery\, this workshop offers an opportunity to notice your inner weather and begin to reframe your stories through writing\, meditation\, and zine-making\, setting intentions for the days ahead. \nIn uncertain times\, we carry protective beliefs\, inherited narratives\, and quiet fears. But what happens when we pause to notice these internal frames—and begin to reframe them? \nFRAME / REFRAME is a group workshop that explores fear\, identity\, and perception through zine-making. In a reflective and supportive setting\, we’ll use writing prompts\, folding techniques\, and collage materials to each create an 8-page personal zine. \nNo prior experience in art or meditation is needed. This workshop offers a creative space for playful inquiry\, intuitive process\, and shared reflection. \nDrawing materials will be provided\, but you are welcome to bring any personal materials or collage elements that resonate with you to enrich your experience. \nA selection of herbal teas will be served throughout the evening. \nWhat We’ll Do: \n• We will begin with a guided meditation to check in with our inner state\n• Group writing prompts will help surface subconscious and conscious patterns • Learn to fold and assemble your own 8-page personal zine\n• Explore drawing\, collage\, and layering to express internal themes \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n• A collective reflection on what we have uncovered in the process \nThis workshop is open to all: artists\, writers\, deep feelers\, the zine-curious\, and anyone navigating emotional weather. No experience necessary. \nWhat You’ll Leave With: \n• A handmade 8-page zine capturing part of your inner landscape • A shared experience and creative reflection\n• A new way of seeing and shifting the stories we hold \nAbout Clare Macdonald: \nClare Macdonald is a filmmaker\, writer\, artist\, and educator whose work investigates perception\, language\, and inner states. With over a decade teaching and running workshops on the Architectural Association’s Foundation Course and Visiting Lecturer on the Screenwriting and Filmmaking MA programmes at London Film School\, Clare is a published poet and zine-maker\, member of the Zine You Next Tuesday collective formed from the Royal Drawing School’s Graphic Narratives course\, with three issues in circulation and a fourth forthcoming. \nReserve your spot for now for an evening of inspiration and connection. Concessions are available. \n\n\n\n\nSee you there!

SUMMARY:Life Drawing Creative Social - Automatism of Ithell Colquhoun (from £5)
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the first major exhibition of visionary artist Ithell Colquhoun that is currently on show at Tate Modern\, this is part 1 of our Ithell Colquhoun inspired series – and the theme is ‘Automatic Drawing and the Psychic Trace’. \n  \nAs a surrealist\, Colquhoun used automatism to bypass the conscious mind. Some prompts of purely automatic drawing techniques—eyes closed\, non-dominant hand\, continuous line and beyond —will be prepared to get everyone out of their logical brain to explore this creative process together. \n  \nThe goal isn’t an accurate drawing but a raw\, honest response to the moment\, capturing primal energy and subconscious impressions. The overarching focus would be The Magical Body: Drawing the Unseen; let’s approach the model not just as a physical form\, but as a vessel of psychic\, natural\, and magical energy. Let’s draw what is felt and intuited\, not just what is seen. \n  \nI hope you will be “freed” from your current drawing styles and success formula after this session\, just like how I felt after visiting the exhibition. \n  \nImage Credit: Ithell Colquhoun\, Gorgon (1946). Private Collection © Spire Healthcare\, © Noise Abatement Society\, © Samaritans \n  \nOur popular life drawing sessions have different themes every month. SUMMARY:Pioneers of Graphic Design: Mucha\, Teige\, Sutnar\, and Šašek
DESCRIPTION:The history of both Czech and global graphic design would be incomplete without the groundbreaking contributions of Czech artists whose work transcended borders and shaped visual culture worldwide. This event explores the lasting impact of Alphonse Mucha\, Karel Teige\, Ladislav Sutnar\, and Miroslav Šašek—visionaries whose innovations continue to inspire designers today. \n\nMucha\, the pre-eminent exponent of Art Nouveau\, revolutionized visual culture in Belle Époque Paris with his iconic theatre and advertising posters\, laying the foundation for modern graphic design\, whileTeige\, a key figure of the European avant-garde\, redefined book design through bold typography and geometric compositions. Sutnar pioneered modern information design\, creating user-friendly communication systems that remain relevant today\, and Šašek’s beloved This is… series of illustrated city guides reshaped how generations of children experienced the world. \nCurator Tomoko Sato (Mucha Foundation)\, Peter Zusi (The Integrity of the Avant-Garde\, Karel Teige and the Biography of an Ambition\, Legenda 2024)\,Adrian Shaughnessy (graphic designer and RCA senior lecturer)\, and Lukáš Novotný (designer and illustrator) will shed light on how these Czech designers helped shape modern visual culture through a series of illustrated presentations\, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. \nTomoko Sato has been curator of the Mucha Foundation since 2007\, overseeing its exhibition and research programs. Formerly curator at the Barbican Art Gallery (Barbican Centre)\, London\, she has curated a wide range of exhibitions examin- ing the art\, architecture\, design\, and photography of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries\, with a long-standing interest in the artistic and cul- tural cross-fertilization between East and West. Her publications include Japan and Britain: An Aesthetic Dialogue\, 1850–1930 (Lund Humphries\, 1991)\, The Wilde Years: Oscar Wilde and the Art of His Time (Philip Wilson\, 2000)\, Mucha (Taschen\, 2015)\, Alphonse Mucha Photographs (Mucha Foundation Publishing\, 2018)\, and Le Pater: Le Grand Oeuvre d’Alphonse Mucha (Édition de la Réunion des musées nationaux-Grand Palais\, 2023). \nPeter Zusi is Associate Professor of Czech and Comparative Literature at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies\, where he also serves as Vice Dean for Research in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. Peter’s research spans various disciplines\, including Czech and German literature and culture from the 18th through 21st centuries\, Central European intellectual history\, Czechoslovak film and photography\, Slovak literature\, theory of literary and visual avant-gardes and modernism\, philosophy of history\, Critical Theory\, and the intersection of literature and architecture. He is also the author of the recently published The Integrity of the Avant-Garde: Karel Teige and the Biography of an Ambition (Cambridge\, England: Legenda\, 2024). \nAdrian Shaughnessy is a graphic designer\, writer\, educator and publisher. A senior lecturer at the RCA\, he also works as an independent design consultant. His book How to Be a Graphic Designer Without Losing Your Soul has sold 80\,000 copies and been translated into multiple languages. He is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and a regular contributor to leading design journals. He co-founded Unit Editions\, publishing acclaimed design books\, and has authored monographs on Herb Lubalin\, Ken Garland\, Paula Scher\, Vaughan Oliver\, FHK Henrion and Lance Wyman. \nLukáš Novotný is an illustrator\, graphic designer and author. His background is in the world of civil engineering and architecture\, and most of his illustrations and design work relates to architecture and cities. His latest book\, Modern New York\, won 2024 Communication Arts Awards while his first book\, Modern London\, was shortlisted for the British Book Design Awards. SUMMARY:God's Women\, Good Men and Monsters - Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:God’s Women\, Good Men and Monsters – a collection of illustrations inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel\, ‘Dracula’.   ILLUSTRATING DRACULA \nThe illustrations by artist Kirsty Maclennan bring to life the thrilling tale of horror\, suspense\, and the battle between good and evil. Alongside this\, artist Christina Rauh Fishburne has created a series of calligraphy art in iconic letters and sketch artwork to capture the frantic and disturbing tale of the battle for the very soul of the world. These works have been captured and published in The Crow Emporium Press illustrated edition of Dracula by Bram Stoker. \nKirsty is a multidisciplinary artist who channels her creativity into various\, often intersecting\, mediums\, including painting\, illustration\, and writing. SUMMARY:From Home Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:‘From Home’ is a solo exhibition by the artist Xinan Yang\, opening in conjunction with the Moon Festival\, the lunar celebration honouring the full moon and the family union. The exhibition showcases two distinct series of Yang’s work\, each providing a profound reflection on family\, identity\, and the evolving concept of home. \n  \nXinan Yang is renowned for her ability to create spaces that bridge the realms of imagination and reality through brushes. After her last solo show\, Missing Place Missing Face\, she embarked on a new exploration using family photos to delve into belonging. This series poignantly explores geographical displacement and its impact on family dynamics and self-identity. By repainting family photos without depicting faces\, Yang investigates the collective memory and consciousness of how memory shapes social bodies and worlds. \n  \nYang’s work is imbued with rich personal and cultural symbolism\, often featuring motifs such as dogs\, moons\, snakes\, and birds. After leaving her hometown\, her dog became an emotional anchor for her parents\, symbolizing the deep familial bonds and emotional connections that persist despite physical distance. Birds in her work represent both freedom and the allure of the world beyond home\, mirroring the experience of many young people who leave home for study or work and return only occasionally\, much like migratory birds. These motifs highlight the tension between the desire for exploration and the enduring connection to home. \n  \nThe exhibition\, curated by Yu Ying Chan\, will include wall hangings that intricately blend personal narratives with broader cultural themes. These works will offer visitors a profound reflection on family\, identity\, and the ever-evolving concept of home. \n  \nFrom Home will be displayed in the Upper Gallery during gallery opening times from Wednesday\, 11 September to Monday\, 7 October. \nThe gallery is generally open: \n\nMonday – Tuesday: 12pm to 4 pm\nWednesday : 11 am to 3 pm\nThursday – Sunday: 12pm to 4 pm\n\nPlease note that gallery hours may change or close at short notice due to private events. To avoid disappointment\, please check our most up-to-date opening hours by clicking here or calling us on 020 8348 8716 the day before your visit.

SUMMARY:Flux Exhibition 10th Edition
DESCRIPTION:FLUX Exhibition is proud to present its 10th edition\, a 4-day art extravaganza showcasing the work of 80 contemporary artists\, held at 178 St James – Piccadilly in London. Curated by Lisa Gray\, the founder of FLUX\, with her open and unbiased approach to contemporary art this prodigious event will feature the most talented\, the most creative dynamic painters\, sculptors\, and performance artists. Collectors\, curators and art lovers can gather to discover the unexpected\, that unique conversation piece and to be inspired by an exhibition that represents an opportunity to discover the very best emerging and established artists\, showcasing international talent in a collaborative\, inclusive show right in the heart of London. \n\n\n\nLisa Gray has an outstanding ability to select and curate a diverse group of gifted artists on the path to being the big names of tomorrow\, creating exhibitions that naturally flow covering many diversities of contemporary art. Flux has established itself as the platform for contemporary artists to be discovered and to be part of an exceptional\, inspirational art event. “FLUX Exhibition is a must-attend event for contemporary art lovers\, where you can discover some of the most exciting and innovative artists in the world\,” says founder Lisa Gray. “Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of contemporary art.” With live music\, hosted by fetish cabaret star Marnie Scarlet\, and performances by drag legend Pretentious Dross\, the FLUX opening night is going to be one to remember! \n\n\n\nFeatured artists include Gary Nicholls a technical artist with a camera rather than a photographer. Inspired by the way Caravaggio and Vermeer were able to focus the viewer on the subject of their art by the use of light\, Nicholls creates a series of themed images printed on Chromaluxe\, each to usher the viewer into the sacred arena that is his imagination\, challenging them to fantasize about a magical space that is the theatre of art. \n\n\n\nKohlben Vodden is an Australian-born self-taught artist living and working in London\, UK. His obsession with psychological concepts such as identity and aesthetics are central to his artistic practice which he defines as visual storytelling that coexists as conceptual and expressionist art. Vodden enjoys the juxtaposition of using traditional mediums such as oil paint in uncharacteristically controlled techniques to create intensely contemporary aesthetic images that could\, upon first glance\, be considered digital in origin. \n\n\n\nHis work has is recognised across the UK and internationally\, and has been included in exhibitions in Abu Dhabi\, Milan\, New York\, and London \n\n\n\nAll guests who make a purchase at FLUX Exhibition will receive a Limited-Edition hand-signed artwork worth £200 by artist Catarina Diaz\, offering an opportunity to own a unique piece of contemporary art. Diaz is a London-based artist who has become an established figure in the art world\, having received multiple awards and recognition from the President of Portugal for her exceptional talent. \n\n\n\nAs well as the exhibition Flux will be selling a range of art gifts\, accessories\, and prints – perfect for the Xmas shopping season. \n\n\n\nThe event will run from 7th to 10th Dec 2023\, and visitors can book FREE tickets on Eventbrite and the official websites http://www.fluxexhibition.com and  http://www.thefluxreview.com.Press responses to be sent to: lisa@thefluxreview.com

SUMMARY:SMALL WORLDS - TOM DE FRESTON
DESCRIPTION:No 20 Arts is delighted to present SMALL WORLDS\, the inaugural exhibition of Tom de Freston’s drawings. Long an admirer of Maurice Sendak\, Jon Klassen\, and Leonora Carrington\, and having built a career around the construction of multimedia worlds\, it is little wonder that de Freston has turned his hand to illustration in the past five years. From jointly creating stories around miraculous animals with his wife\, novelist Kiran Millwood Hargrave\, to being selected to make work for the first illustrated edition of David Almond’s iconic Skellig\, he has brought his full range of process to paper. Monoprinting\, collaging\, maquettes\, and painting combined with interplays of scale and texture give each finished work depth and intrigue. His fierce belief in an image’s ability to communicate complex narrative is on full display here\, made no less complex by the size\, simplicity of line\, and colour palette.

SUMMARY:Kunstkamera + Intro by Gareth Evan
DESCRIPTION:This animated movie is part of the 26th Made in Prague Festival organised by the Czech Centre London. The popular multi-genre festival is back again for its 26th edition. Representing one of the oldest national celebrations of European culture in the UK\, the festival presents an exciting programme covering film\, music\, science\, visual art and literature in various venues across London and beyond. Take your pick and immerse yourself in Czech culture this fall. \nA tantalising view of the Czech surrealist and filmmaker Jan Svankmajer’s private collection of artefacts and objects\, full of beauty and magic. In Kunstkamera\, Czech surrealist Jan Švankmajer opens the door to his Horní Staňkov Castle\, inviting us into his home where the living space is intricately and organically intertwined with an exhibition space filled with installations\, paintings\, puppets and products of nature\, but also an unmade bed\, his bedside table\, an open bottle of beer and a dog bowl. Horní Staňkov is home to the eclectic private collection that Švankmajer has built throughout his life\, inspired by the kunstkameras of Rudolf II and André Breton. Now providing a tantalising view into his world through the sequence of objects and an interpretation of the collection\, Svankmajer’s inner landscape is captured on film for posterity and shared with his fans from all over the world. A treat not to be missed.
