DESCRIPTION:The second evening of Organ Reframed will open with a new piece from one of Hollywood’s most sought after film composers\, Hildur Guðnadóttir\, currently making headlines as the newly signed composer for the upcoming film Joker with Joaquin Phoenix\, making her the first woman to compose a score for a live-action DC Comics film. Previous scores include Sicario: Day of the Soldado and Mary Magdalene. Hildur has also released four critically acclaimed solo albums on touch and written widely for theatre and dance. Hildur will be performing her new work live with James McVinnie and the London Contemporary Orchestra Soloists. \nThe latter half of the evening promises to be an historic event for contemporary music. Éliane Radigue\, a pioneer of musical evolution since the 1960’s\, has composed her first work for organ\, which will be performed by Frédéric Blondy. DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to welcome multiple award winner David Mackenzie to this special St Andrew’s Day event in London.\nBAFTA Scotland winning director David Mackenzie best known for Hell or High Water and this year’s Outlaw King will share his successes and experiences of filmmaking with broadcaster Edith Bowman. \nDavid Mackenzie is an acclaimed Scottish writer\, producer and director. He is a co-founder of Sigma Films along with his producing partner\, Gillian Berrie. \nMackenzie’s historical epic Outlaw King\, starring Chris Pine\, Aaron Taylor-Johnson\, Florence Pugh and Billy Howle\, will be released on November 9\, 2018 by Netflix. In 2016\, Hell or High Water – a contemporary Western starring Chris Pine\, Ben Foster and Jeff Bridges – premiered in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival. The film\, distributed by CBS Films\, was a box office and critical hit. It was nominated for four Academy Awards in 2017 including Best Film. \nStarred Up\, with Jack O’Connell and Ben Mendelsohn\, was released in 2014 and garnered multiple BAFTA Scotland Awards and eight BIFA nominations including a win for Ben Mendelsohn in the Best Supporting Actor category. \nAfter graduating film school at the University of Westminster\, Mackenzie wrote and directed an adaptation of Alexander Trocchi’s cult novel\, Young Adam starring Ewan McGregor and Tilda Swinton. Premiering in the Un Certain Regard section of Cannes 2003 and playing at Telluride the same year\, the film went on to win four BAFTA Scotland awards including\, Best Picture\, Best Director\, Best Actor and Best Actress. The film also earned four BIFA nominations including Best Picture and Best Director and several European Film Academy nominations. \nThis event is a fundraising evening for BAFTA Scotland’s educational activities in Scotland. \nStudent discount available. Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London. Staring Colin Firth\, Hugh Grant\, Emma Thompson\, Keira Knightley\, Martine McCutcheon. DESCRIPTION:Edible Cinema is a creative initiative organised by renowned unsual event specialist\, Polly Betton\, in partnership with experimental  chefs Blanch & Shock\, and mixologists from Conker Spirit and Fentimans for this very special screening. Turning a night at the cinema into a\nmemorable event\, Edible Cinema has been described by Vogue as  ‘gastronomic theatre’ and  ‘the ultimate marriage of film and food’ by Time Out.  \nThe experience promises to harness the power of taste\, smell and texture to enhance the cinematic experience. Each guest is supplied with a tray of numbered ‘mystery boxes’ \, containing a bite-sized tasting menu corresponding to scenes in the film\, and a carefully matched welcome drink. A signal indicates what should be opened and enjoyed\, when. \nExpect ‘a gastronomic whirlwind\, from the taste of that first breath of fresh sea air on the French Riviera to a mouthful of fluffy\, soft Prima Ballerina’s tutu and the rich\, smoky bitterness of a cigar stubbed out in fury’. Edible Cinema menus focus less on literal interpretations of food shown on screen\, and more on environment\, dialogue and the overall feeling.
