DESCRIPTION:Rubik’s Brand Ltd\, the London-based company that owns the rights to the Rubik’s Cube – the world’s most popular toy – is hosting its first ever Pop-Up Experience at 9-11 Short’s Gardens\, Seven Dials\, Covent Garden\, London WC2H 9AT\, on Tuesday October 1st and Wednesday October 2nd 2019. \nThe brand is creating a truly immersive experience for Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts in advance of the 40th anniversary of the cube becoming toy of the year and taking the world by storm. \nSince the Rubik’s Cube’s launch in 1980\, an estimated 450 million Rubik’s cubes have been sold globally. It has become one of the most instantly recognised symbols of fun\, aptitude and creative endeavour due to its iconic\, colourful multidimensional design that continues to appeal to people of all ages and cultures. \n\n\n \nThe new interactive pop-up experience will feature many exciting activities\, demonstrating the creative impact of the intriguing cube. A mosaic of HRH Queen Elizabeth II will be created using 1\,800 limited edition Rubik’s cubes. \nDesigned by Norwegian cube artist\, @Cubearting\, the artwork will be assembled with the help of visitors\, set to break the current Guinness World Record for the most individuals contributing to a single Rubik’s Cube mosaic. The current record has 293 participants which the Rubik’s Brand plans to smash. \nThe UK speedcubing champion\, George Scholey\, along with other cubers\, will be in attendance to teach novices how to crack the cube’s code. \nThe magician\, Taran Harvey-Chadwick\, who is a regular performer at the Magic Palace\, will be present to perform spellbinding close-up Rubik’s Cube tricks. There will even be face-painters from Glamour Van to add a touch of cubic-style tribal colour. \nAs the design of black cabs is an iconic element of London’s landscape\, two taxis wrapped with Rubik’s Cube designs will be used as mobile venues for the first ever ‘Carpool Cubeioke’. Guests will learn the skills of solving a Rubik’s Cube in a liveried cab while being chauffeured past the architectural landmarks of London.

Come along for a fun day out for children and adults! \nThis event celebrates the successful pond restoration of Pine Pond carried out by Froglife and the local council in March 2019. Before the work\, Pine Pond had little native vegetation\, low oxygen levels and no breeding amphibians. Within 2 weeks of the restoration work\, toads were spotted breeding in the pond. SUMMARY:Art of Pyrography Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Pyrography is the skill of burning wood to create beautiful patterns or burnt marks on the surface. It does not involve actual flames but it does permanently scar the wood. The tool used is sort of a pen which has 19 different tips. So crafters can make their own design or follow the templets. You don’t have to be an expert in drawings. The class also offers iron tips that have shapes and designs. First you can choose to draw on paper and later transfer it to wood. It is perfect for chopping boards\, keyrings\, utensils and more. \nThe workshop include materials such as wood\, chopping boards\,keyrings\, a glass of prosecco\, instruction booklet. After the product is produced\, cotton tote bag will be given to take your work back home. \nThe workshop offers great relaxation for hobiest and oppurtunities for future business development. \nThe workshop is held on 4 different dates. We will be ‘making’ on the first floor within the Maiyet Collective pop-up space. If you love our handwoven\, rescued leather rugs then this is an afternoon you don’t want to miss. \nWhat does the afternoon entail?\nThis is a Meet-the-Maker event – with a twist! While enjoying tea and cake we will work together as a team to assemble a caramel leather rug. Hosted by our co-founder\, Kresse\, you will have an excellent opportunity to learn about everything we do and why we do it. The medium rug\, which is 119cm wide and 178cm long (approximately 4 x 6 feet)\, will be handwoven from 805 individually cut pieces. These rugs are valued at £780.00. \nOne of the participants will then WIN the rug! \nThe leather rug will be separately delivered to the lucky winner with 100% recycled underlay.
