Tapestry Weaving Workshop in London
Tickets for my workshops at the Barbican are now on sale! As part of Make! A Season of Contemporary Craft I will be in residence at the Barbican running weaving demonstrations and teaching workshops.
My 40-year-old floor loom will be installed in the shop space and I will be weaving a rug inspired by the current Yto Barrada exhibition, and the iconic architecture of the Barbican itself. More information about this can be found on the Barbican site here
I will also be running a series of weaving workshops where we will be drawing on the Barbican for inspiration, from the texture of the concrete, the geometric motifs of the architecture and even the light, sound and qualities of the space around us.

Each workshop is a 4-hour class covering everything you need to know to get started with weaving. We’ll cover the basics of warping your loom and starting to weave, before moving on to shape-building, creating texture and mixing colours. You’ll get plenty of one-to-one teaching over the course of the class as will leave with all the materials and equipment
you’ll need to keep going at home.
