There are hundreds of event suppliers in the UK providing a large variety of services and equipment for the thousands of events held all over London every year.

This website has listed many of the in 'demand' and reputable companies who provide the variety of services.

The most basic events will require PA systems, staging, lighting and sets or backdrops.

The crew involved in these productions are mostly trained for the theatre as they bring the same discipline to event production.

The crew would generally consist of Sound Engineers, Lighting Technicians, Set Builders, Staging Crew, Video Technicians, General Crew and a Producion Team.

The Production Team is Responsible for the logistics and the planning of the entire event.

Event Production

The Event Management and Production Company will conceptualise and design the look of the event within the clients budgets and requirements.

The Theming company will generally be called on for parties, balls and annual company events where specific theme is required to help market the event or just to make it more interesting. Theming companies that provide themes will have their own sets, bars and various equipment to help with the conceptualising of the theme.

The Lighting company is equipped with moving lights or intelligent lighting also known as automated lights and generic lights. The lighting company is there to not just provide light but to create the ambience and look of the event.

Caterers

When organising an event, one of the main suppliers would be the caterers. Caterers in London consist of small medium sized caterers and large corporate business caterers.

Your choice of Caterer will largely depend whether you are catering to a very large, medium or small sized party.
London has every conceivable type of caterer, ranging from the traditional French & English cuisine caterer to the more modern fusion type of caterer.

There a specialist caterers as well, like Kosher Caterers that specialise in Jewish/Israeli Function or Halal Caterers that specialise in Catering to Muslim Guests.

Chinese and Carribean Caterers are popular for theme
parties, you will find that the themed party caterer is normally a specialised caterer.

Live Musicians & Bands

Musicians are essential in making any large event a success, though alcohol is essential, music ads the variety and sets the mood for the day.
Many events set aside a large budget for the food and the venue but tend to let down the party by only having music playing from a CD.
Live Music is essentially the single most underated requirement, however it is essntial for creating a memorable event.
How many events can you rememember that had live music or did not have live music.
Essentially you will remember the events where the party was rocking with live music or you were chilling to some cool bossa or light jazz in the background.
Leaving live music out from the party, is like leaving the soul out from your event, thus Live Music and Bands have become essential in most London Parties and Events.

Agencies

There are various agencies involved in supplying man power in the events industry.

The event crew is divided into general crew, expert crew and artistes.

The general crew is provided by agencies on an hourly basis with the shortest shifts being 2 hours; this would be the minimum call. This crew will unload and load the trucks; they will move the heavy equipment to the right places and the set the equipment up.

The expert crew is hired on day rates as they will be there for the entire event.

The artistes are the musicians and comedians who most often will be the people involved in entertaining at the event if there is a cocktail reception or dinner involved.
